Why?

Takes a strong marriage to be cooped up in a van 24/7 365 and not end up hating each other.

Or just marry someone you actually like.

Liking someone doesn't mean you can afford to sacrifice your personal space with no emotional consequences.

I sincerely doubt they are living in that van 24/7. If this is your interest and your spouse shares it, the marriage should not be tested by the occasional weekend trip in it.

But that's not the scenario in question. The assertion was that it takes a strong marriage to be cooped up together 24/7/365.

Gotta do it when you're traveling.

Which is what they're doing.

What?

The van they are building is a travel van. When you travel, you sacrifice personal space while traveling.

What does that have to do with the sacrifice of personal space being a negative for most couples? I am just confused what you mean I guess.

He's the one who said it. Not me.

I said liking someone doesn't mean you're immune to resentment and emotional stress - even if you like them a lot. People need their personal space, and they're allowed to have their own boundaries. You shouldn't have to give those up just because you like someone. And refusing to give up your boundaries doesn't mean you dislike someone. It means you have self respect.

Right.

Which are why first vacations or road trips are a big test for new couples.

Because you need to sacrifice some of your personal space to travel.

To be fair, they specifically refer to it as a “home” in the video.

Because it's an ad for their business they put on THEIR account.

Then someone uploaded it here.

Not necessarily. If you like the other person, it's much easier to find solutions to these kinds of problems, than if you resent them. Just talk and be interested in what they need.

When you are traveling, you are spending time in small spaces together, because you are traveling.
