Looks actually the same like our deserts and wastelands.

Hey Farva, what's that restaurant you like, with all the goofy shit on the walls?

Hey Farva, what’s the name of that restaurant you like with the goofy shit on the walls and the mozzarella sticks?

2

u/toothpicks-galore 8h ago

in the new one Farva is marrying the indian guy's sister and while the movie is a bit meh, the scene where Farva is impressing his future parents' inlaw is funny as hell

It insists upon itself!

Yeah it’s like those zen gardens when you try to place everything randomly but there is still a hidden order due to the inability of the brain to mimic randomness and then a detective steeped in Japanese culture looks at it and chastises you and asks you to clutter up a bathroom counter top with hair gel, soap, maybe a razor, just try to arrange them so they’re apparently haphazardly strewn, but you can’t, you CANT dammit, then the detective steeped in Japanese culture starts referring to himself as kohai. That’s what mars is up to here

“The pic looks too legitimate, therefore, it must be fake”.

Never A Straight Answer! They’re lying to ussssssssss!!!!!

u/Ancient_Presence 10h ago

Yeah, as a woman of science, I think the most rational explanation is that this is fake, and was filmed by Stanley Kubrick's ghost, who was contracted by no other tha

As a Las Vegas resident, all I could think was “This looks like the drive to Pahrump or California.”

Death Valley, right around Furnace Creek area

It looks identical to wet beach sand to me, even though I'm pretty sure thats just how dark the sand is. Crazy cool

u/uno_novaterra 10h ago

Yeah, I was thinking the big island of Hawaii looks more alien than actual Mars

Dont tell Israel

u/revergopls 9h ago

During the summer it even hits Room Temp on the equator

u/bcgg 9h ago

It made me laugh at any idea that we would inhabit Mars considering we don’t exactly develop the places that look like this on Earth.

Geology is universal!

I suppose in theory the protoplanetary disk that formed our planets was once one mass of elements, only later forming the planets in their first form. I think it could make sense that at least from their basic composition they are somehow similar.

Pictures from Venus also looked very similar to a desert, very similar to ours iirc

If we made a Phoenix, we can conquer this.
