Did you see the video? It’s not going to be shit. This place sucks and there’s no oxygen. Anyone that thinks we’re colonizing Mars for any reason is delusional.
That or two possibilities. For all we know, mars could be unbelievably rich in resources and minerals and it could be mined for all it's resources because nobody cares about mars. Or Alternatively, which this is the super unlikely option, several thousands of years into the future, if humans still exist and corruption ceases to exist, then some think it would be possible to teraform mars into being like a second earth. The only issue with that idea is that it would take an ungodly amount of resources that humans don't have available on earth, so by that point, we would need to be able to create giant holes on mars for us to fill with water since A. Mars is really flat as far as the surface goes. B. If we put water there, it would cover the whole surface pretty quickly, which water is vital to creating oxygen. There's also the issue of cooling it down during the day time and warming it up at night. So Mars would be like the final art project of humanity, a testament to our resilience and our brains, the ability to change an entire planet with some hard work and patience. It wouldn't be a project for us, or our grandkids, but it would be a project for their great great great great great great grandkids. So this is all assuming humans haven't gone extinct by then.
That’s the mindset that will have us believe we have time. Then if it were to happen sooner then later we aren’t prepared. It’s a real problem that will happen we do need to solve it. Even if Mars is taken over by same red giant event, what’s humanity going to do.
Even if it’s not Mars, the sun will become a red giant one day. We need to figure out what’s next. It’s not a prediction it’s the natural outcome of the sun.
Bro, you clearly don’t understand a billion years. To human timescales, it’s essentially infinity. Most people are aware of what the sun is predicted to do eventually. But it’s a non-problem. Will you also work on an escape plan for the heat-death of the universe?
...the sun will become a red giant one day. We need to figure out what’s next.
You've been told several times in this comment chain that it will be BILLIONS of years. Humans will be wiped out by an ice age before we reach anywhere near half a million years.

Who still thinks it's a good idea to restart civilization on Mars?
