First gif that shows up when searching India train. Just very very crowed is why. They cross in front of moving trains all the time and jump on them to get on top because they are overcrowded like this gif.

Irony is that no one in India can ride on top of trains (since they all run on electrified tracks), all those clips including the above one is from Bangladesh.

But yes, many people do die from train accidents.

Funny that the other commenter is so confident about what "they" do in India though considering it's Bangladesh.

But also this airbag is not going to save you from a heavy, 20 car, inter-city train.
