Is your friend perhaps a little homophobic?
A truly unfortunate number of people think all gay relationships are, or should be, only for 18+ audiences.

I think the only reference to sex I've seen in Night Vale is in the novel It Devours

I think one of the outros near the end of an early season offhandedly brought up "Night Vale After Dark", which wound up being a burlesque show that was put on alongside (probably after) a live reading of a finale?
As far as I can remember, there's never been straight up an explicit scene in the podcast unless something happens in between 286 and the most recent episode (that's how far back I am in my podcast queue)

"Carlos: Great! So, I’ll let you know when I figure out exactly how to get you here. Ugh, I cannot wait to see you in person again.
Cecil: Me neither!
Carlos: Cannot wait. Cannot.
Cecil: Oh, ok! Me neither!
Carlos: It’s gonna be good.
Cecil: Uhhhh….ahem. Well. Thank you so much for this highly relevant report that had important information for everyone in town. Thanks, Carlos." Don't forget this part

Hello there! Sex-repulsed asexual here! Yeah Nightvale doesn’t have anything even remotely close to that. I would’ve dropped it if it did. As would my several other sex-repulsed asexual friends.

Neither TMA or WTNV have explicit content or anything in the first few episodes that could be mistaken for it from what I remember. They might have listened to a different podcast and gotten them mixed up. If they say they "immediately regretted it" it sounds like the noises happend in the first few minutes, my best guess would be that they listened to Malevolent since that opens with heavy breathing which could be misinterpreted if you don't listen for long enough.
