Public art should make the surroundings beautiful. In this case, clearly, it didnt.

Well... Art is more than just pretty. Art, good art, also makes you think. And while there's upset at the price tag, I do get the point of making a natural feature (a rock) out of recycled garbage that sits in front of a landfill.

I don't get the feeling the dispute is about the art, it's about the cost.
