There are jokes people make, but they generally aren't serious. No one wants a movie exploring a romantic relationship between Batman and Robin. Well, some might but we don't talk about them. For Spider-Man it is especially weird because of the nature of the character and his comic book history. It would be an incredibly stupid thing to do. Spider-Man is a bit distinct in the fact that the character ages and grows in ways you generally don't think of for comic book characters.

The second half of your comment could have easily been said 15 years ago about the idea of a Black Spider-Man (and that kind of thing WAS said, often.) And now Miles Morales is unbelievably popular.

Also... Iron Man in the comics and the one RDJ plays are completely different. Iron Man is more Bruce Wayne-esque in most of the comics IIRC.

There's absolutely a lot of creative liberties they can do with these characters, especially since the comics do the same.

Miles Morales isn't Peter Parker. He is his own character with his own history. So I don't really see the point you are trying to make there.

Oh come on, there are so many vastly different incarnations of Peter Parker, it would not be a big deal at all to have a story where he’s gay or bi. It would not change a single fundamental thing about his character.

I take it then you have abandoned your previous point? If you want a gay Spider-Man nothing is preventing creating a new character in the same way that Miles Morales was created and letting the character stand on the strength of his own merit. I would also disagree that it would not change anything about the character. Further I would say if it doesn't change anything about the character then it is a pretty stupid change to make. A gay Spider-Man should have his own unique history and experiences and touch on his own unique topics.

All of the Tom Holland Spider-Man films have explored his relationship with MJ and that’s not weird at all. But you make him bisexual and all of a sudden it’s “weird” and “no one wants a movie about that”?

I don’t think spiderman should be in a gay relationship because Peter Parker is straight and I don’t believe in changing stories in that way. But if someone says “I’d have liked to see Peter Parker be gay” and the response is “no that’s weird and wild” then I’m sorry but I can’t see how it’s anything other than just homophobia.

Gay people exist, Superheroes don’t.

Right, so of the three quotes you use, the one "weird" is from my actual comment. Maybe you should try quoting what people actually say. Especially if you are then going to accuse them of being homophobic based on your own made up quotes. You should also look at it in context instead of trying to make stupid points. You haven't addressed the nature of the character and his comic book history which is what would make it weird. The unique thing about Peter Parker and his Spider-Man, and part of what made him so popular and unique at the time is that he wasn't a static character. He aged, he grew, he developed relationships and he went through periods in his life that a normal person would go through up to and including getting married and starting a family. It isn't weird to explore his relationship with MJ because that is an incredibly important aspect of the character. It isn't just some throw away element. That history of the character is what makes it such a weird suggestion.

I quoted the main title on this post and yourself as I find both comments homophobic.

I said myself I don’t agree in making him bisexual or gay… but if they did it wouldn’t be weird or wild. A lot of what your saying comes across as if you’re saying “well of course we can explore his relationship with a girl. But he couldn’t possibly be with a boy because that’s weird”

Just tired of hearing any showing of homosexuality be treated like it’s strange to love someone of the same sex.

If that is what you took from what I said then you don't seem to have any idea what I said. He can be in a relationship with a girl, specifically MJ, because it is a defining element of his story and part of what made him such a well loved character. When it is a central element of the character, their history, and what makes that character popular then yes, it would be weird to change that. It isn't strange for a homosexual character to love someone of the same sex. Peter Parker isn't homosexual however.
