Damn, I don't think we give enough credit to Filipino rap and hip-hop
I just realized na possibleng maging sobrang laki ng ambag ng rap sa pagpapamulat sa mga Pilipino. Just look at all the artists putting out their own entries for the Baha open verse. I love seeing artists use their platform to speak about what's happening around us.
And Gloc-9's upuan, sheeshables
A song about politicians and people in power that is still relevant today. Gloc-9 even shared that he's been stopped from performing it at some shows because he was told, "Bawal daw. Huwag mong kakantahin 'yun."
Imagine a song being that uncomfortable for people in power.
Salute to all the artists who choose to speak through their music. Sana mas marami pang ganitong klaseng rap ang lumabas. Hindi kailangang political lahat ng music, pero sometimes, one good song is enough to make someone stop, think, and question things.
Much respect to Filipino hip-hop. 🇵🇭
