Hi everyone. Has anyone ever been to an AGA clinic in Osaka shi? I see some online ads for AGA clinics in Umeda and Shinsaibashi but I'm not sure how reliable they are or if there are some hidden fees.

My wife and I recently had a baby. We sometimes take him out in stroller to get him use to the outside nosie environment. Everything was fine-ish at first especially when he was smaller. Old strangers (mostly old women) will approach us and make comments about our baby asking if he was a boy or girls, etc. This was already a shock since, I been living here for a few years now and strangers don't normally approach you unless they wanted to recruit you to their cult or hand you some tissue paper for their company.

However, yesterday was when I believe the line was truly crossed. I took our son to a Starbucks alone to work on some stuff online. It's not uncommon to hear the occasional person talking about our baby so I mostly zone those noises out while still keeping an eye on my baby as he chills in his stroller nest to me.

Suddenly, this older lady (maybe 50-60) just came up and started interacting with my baby. I didn't have any reaction since I thought she was just talking to the baby. Normally, if they do, they would just leave after. This was when this women took it next step further. She starting touching my baby's leg. I didn't know how to react since I never had ANYONE directly touch my baby without asking. Mostly of the time especially strangers, would just smile and wave at my baby. However, this old lady just started touching my baby's leg without asking. She said something about him being cute and then went back to her table. Maybe I should have reacted then, however, I was still in shock and didn't even really process what just happened. I went back to doing my work. 20 mins later, the same lady (who chose a seat close to me) came back and started talking to my baby again. She didn't make any physical contact this time yet... She then spoke to me and asked if she could pick up my baby. Excuse me??!?!? Who the hell are you??? Why would I let you, a stranger pick up my baby who has a immune system of a paper bag. What if you drop our baby??? I reacted as calmly as possible, gave her the death stare and said no. She then went back to her seat.

The saga wasn't over. Just before she left starbucks with her male partner/boyfriend? (No idea who the other guy is) She came back and both her and her male friend touched my babies leg again.

Like.... do I have the right to get extremely upset here? Or am I overreacting?

I also want to share that we've taken our baby out to other prefectures in Japan. We would get looks from staff who you could tell that they like babies. However, no one would dare come over and let alone make direct physical contact with our baby.

In Osaka.... it really feels like people (especially old women) don't understand boundaries.

What would you guys do if you were in my shoes?

Should I add* my baby is still getting all his Vaccination. He IS already taking some medication for something as a prevention because the hospital is worried about his status since he might have ALREADY caught something from a stranger.

Going to add another detail, the lady grabbed my baby's calf and shock it like it some kind of rattle (before and after she left). It was was hard enough that the whole baby's body shock.

I'm currently looking to start beekeeping in Osaka and am searching for a plot of land where I can set up a few beehives.

After doing some research on suitable locations, I am interested in areas such as:
・ Kashiwara City, Higashiosaka City, Yao City (near the Ikoma mountain range)
・ Minamikawachi region (Kawachinagano City, etc.)
・ Kishiwada City
・ Izumi City
・ Nose Town
If there are any regions or recommended spots within or near Osaka Prefecture that you think are suited for beekeeping, please let me know.

If you or someone you know owns unused land (forest, fallow land, vacant lot, etc.) in or around Osaka Prefecture (within driving distance), please let me consult with you. If you would kindly allow me to use such a space out of your goodwill, I would like to share freshly harvested honey with you as a token of my gratitude. In addition, I will take full responsibility for managing the area around the hives, including mowing the grass, cleaning, etc. Bees also play a role in helping pollinate surrounding vegetables and fruit trees, so I would be happy if I could be of even a little help to the local nature and crops.

Aside from unused land, any information on how to find formal rented land would also be greatly appreciated. If anyone has advice regarding recommended websites, real estate agents, or government help desks I should consult, please let me know!

I’m an Honours student at the University of Sydney Business School researching the experiences of Australians who are currently or have been on a Working Holiday in Osaka or broader Japan. I’m really interested in hearing about what the experience was actually like the highlights, the challenging, the surprising, and everything in between!  
  
There hasn’t been much research on what the Aussie experience on this visa in Japan looks like so hearing your stories and insights would be invaluable.

• A casual 45–60 minute chat (Online)

• Have completed or are currently pursuing a working holiday in Japan

So I’ve been living in Osaka for about 4 months now. Are yall just…not the same as the rest of Japan? Every prefecture I’ve lived in prior has green, red, pink, orange etc different bags or different cans or different places for different pickup. Here I can just throw all my shit besides bottles and leaf litter into a single bag with no issue.

You don’t even have a normal trash bag…it’s just the thinnest material known to man with no handles to tie.

Why the hell is this normal? You know the rest of Japan is years ahead of you in terms of sorting garbage and I see people just doing whatever they want.

Full large size pizza box? Fuck it, throw it in with the left over scraps of food and plates and bags of takeout. Need to dump uneaten ramen broth? Same bag.

So much plastic you can’t be bothered to deal with it? Who cares if burnable things are in the same bag, throw it all out.

Only place yall care is where the garbage bin at a conbini clearly labels things as what they want you to throw out. And that only goes for those business. I frequent a poker places that’s like “yea throw burnable and food into the same bit as PET bottles. Who cares”

Other prefectures can maybe shame foreigners for it since it’s SO clearly labeled. But in a city like Osaka, might as well litter with how little they care. Rice field are just trash dumps if they are next to a road. None of you can ever talk about how a foreigner throws his trash away.

This is a fun and educational space where we learn how to use Figma, learn about web design, and eventually learn about web development (using development languages such as HTML/CSS/JS). This is an equal and laid-back space; all levels are welcome, and you can join any workshop at any time. I tend to cover what we've learned in the last workshop a bit. During this workshop, we're learning about typefaces; we'll continue (or start) our web design in Figma while learning new techniques, and we'll get a sneak peek of the coding project we'll start in the next workshop.

This workshop is good for people who are interested in learning about design for whatever reason, want to make design/tech friends, and want to improve their technical skills. We also cover a bit of marketing! All of the skills you learn here are transferable if you're a creative, software engineer, or business owner (or all of the above). This workshop does not focus on no-code website builders such as Wix, Squarespace, etc. However, I will be covering those at a later date once we make a website from scratch, so please stay LOCKED in ^_^

I live up in northern Osaka, but we're taking our 2 kids under 6 to the おかあさんといっしょ show at Osakajo Hall this weekend. It let's out at 630, so I'm looking for recommendations for food near that area that kids would enjoy. Haven't been that way since before the kids were born so all the old haunts are all beer based lmao.

Anyone have any tips?
