Information Data from 200 mostly non-uber Feared

Upvotes

I see a Feared posts every league and the profit/hr always seems lower than I expected based on Wiki drop rates, so I decided to run 200 and track everything above ~50 chaos. I ended up with ~1.5x profit per hour, but that is partially due to my low run time.

  • Total Cost: -380 divs

  • Total Revenue: 1,635 divs

  • Total Profit: 1255 divs

  • Total runtime: 30.1 hours (~9:14/set)

  • Div/hr: 41.7 (ranged from 36-50 in my 4 sets of 50)

.

Methodology

Bought all frags during the week, setting cheap buy orders and waiting. Ran 100 sets Fri-Sun on 2 separate weekends, liquidating every 50 sets. Fast rotations of Regular Sirus, Dread, regular Uber Elder and Uber Cortex, using a mule account to port out of Sirus and Uber elder. Build could also jump into Sirus storms to trigger him quickly, and sometimes phase past the last Dread phase.

I kept everything above ~50c. ID'd all Crown of the Inward eyes, selling good rolls and corrupting the rest (0 hits). I used Sirus/Dread speeches to ID/corrupt/pricecheck/manage inventory. Dark Monarchs are listed as sold unidentified but I started IDing them half way (very worth).

I tracked the runs in sets of 50 to see variance and the div/hr ranged from 36 to 50. For run time estimate, I tracked 3 sets of 10 and averaged. Pretty consistent times, with only variable being whether I phased Dread and skipped his last ~25 second rose step (managed every 5 or so runs).

Build was a Str stack Juggernaut, with 500 M DPS, very high mobility and high EHP. On a "typical" feared build, I'd expect ~10-12 min runs for ~30-35 div/hr profit

.

Notes

  • Even with 0 big ticket drops, profit would still have been 24 div/hr

  • I think I got insanely lucky on Bottled Faiths, since all came from the Feared

  • Roughly half the revenue was from Feared invite (2 wines, all Bottled, all Dying, lots of orbs)

  • Happy to give tips on lowering Feared run time if people are interested.

Question | Answered I think I've been playing this game wrong

Upvotes

I've played around 700 hours of PoE, and I'm starting to feel like I've been playing the game completely wrong.

When I started, I struggled just to get through the campaign. After learning a bit more about the game, I eventually managed to make it into maps. In the last few leagues, I played Eviscerate, then Earthshatter. In a few other leagues I tried Elementalist builds, but I would always get one-shot, and honestly, I didn't really understand what I was doing (not that I understand the game that well now either lol).

This league I'm playing Smite of Divine Judgement. I had a lot of fun leveling through the campaign with Static Strike, but somehow I always end up hitting the same wall: I get into maps and then I have no idea what I'm supposed to do next.

This time I managed to get to level 93 and complete 100/100 Atlas maps. I even got my first Eldritch Voidstone. But it feels like I always get stuck around this point.

Am I supposed to just keep farming until I can afford the ~270 divines needed for the Foulborn set before I can start doing Pinnacle bosses? Or am I missing some other progression path? Maybe I'm not even supposed to be farming that way?

The problem is that I don't feel like I can really farm efficiently either. If I juice my maps too much, I just end up dying. I've been trying Harvest and managed to make about 1 divine, plus some chaos here and there, but the gap between that and something like a Foulborn setup feels absolutely massive.

Am I missing something obvious?

Even in previous leagues, I feel like I always stopped at roughly the same point. I can get into maps, progress the Atlas, and get some basic upgrades, but then I just don't know what the next step is supposed to be.

Level 93 Leap Slam Inquisitor
Following this build:
Smite of Divine Judgement Inquisitor League Starter

I'd really appreciate some advice on what I should be focusing on at this point. I feel like there's a huge part of the game I'm completely missing.

Question What happened (Bug/Glitch)?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

In the mine, I occasionally run into an issue where I get visual distortions (RX 7800XT).

A lot of monsters spawn, and then—*poof*—they’re all gone or die very quickly.

If I pause the game, the distortion disappears.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to record it.

As if someone had run /killall, or something like that..

None of the clips are sped up, this is all 1x ingame speed.
Tank uber maven, 0.3 second uber exach (cannot packman the exarch balls like my previous builds due to not enough recoup or regen)

Inspired by u/Labayaccount123's luminary arc of oscillating (I decided to implement doryani's into the build)

Pobb damage is not accurate, I just took it right from Poe ninja. It doesn't include mercenary or ag, and many other buffs.

Information I ancient orb'ed 11287 belts so you won't have to

As my end-of-league gamba I decided to pay homage to the way I got my first Mageblood ever many leagues ago: Ancient Orbs. At first I intended to go for 10k orbs but they ended up being a bit more than expected. Some key stats first:

  • Ancient Orbs were bought at ~33 Orbs/Divine from Faustus in the period of the last two days.
  • All belts were sourced from the Breach tree while grinding for my level 100.
  • All belts were at minimum 83 item level. None of them was foulborn and/or foil (although the foulborn/foil modifiers are lost when an ancient orb is used).
  • Ancient orbs were used by level 100 character.
  • It was more than impractical for me to track every single belt so I decided to track the "rarest" belts according to our current understanding of unique tiering. Those would be:
  1. T0: Mageblood Heavy Belt
  2. T0: Headhunter Leather Belt
  3. T1: Ryslatha's Coil Studded Belt
  4. T2: Sunblast Cloth Belt
  5. T2: The Torrent's Reclamation Cloth Belt
  6. T2: The Magnate Studded Belt

Any belts from the above list were removed and kept as reference. ALL other belts not included in the list were rerolled.

Total Cost: ~342 Divine (11287 Ancient Orbs)
The results:

  • Magnate Studded Belt: 18
  • Torrent's Reclamation Cloth Belt: 13
  • Sunblast Cloth Belt: 7
  • Ryslatha's Coil Studded Belt: 2
  • Headhunter Leather Belt: 0
  • Mageblood Heavy Belt: 0

Total Profit: ?

As a conclusion I'd say the chances are 50/50 to get a desirable result, I just landed on the bad 50%.

Tool Heist Curio Tracker (Update) - 0.2.15.2 (Capture Settings & Tool Performance)

Hey pals,

Hope you doing good ^^

Just released the latest version of Heist Curio Tracker with major improvements to capture speed and reliability, you can now customize which regions of the screen the tool should be using to capture for more personalised and in some cases faster responses, alongside a couple QoL features and fixes, hope this update proves useful to you all!

This tool allows you to quickly take a screenshot of the Grand Heist Curio Displays and save them as reward data, so you can easily analyze the loot you find during your runs.

Each capture has a toast in the top right as a notification which shows the captured items, their value (poe.ninja), rarity and ownership status (PoE Ladder).

Thank you for trying out the tool and for the feedback throughout the year of development, much appreciate it!

A more in-depth changelog available on the github release page, happy heisting!

Fluff & Memes PSA: Don't buy Lost Unity, do the recipe.

Wanted to late start Herald Ignite, wanted lost unity, friend gave me 2 div for me to start buying stuff. Cheapest Lost Unity ring, 2 div to higher, the 5 others rings you expend less than one div, and you can always sell the bad ones for 2div or higher. Fun to flip when you're bored, but please just buy the pieces if you're new or low on money.

Question | Answered Farming strat recommendation?

Hey what’s up.

Can someone recommend me a farming strat? It doesn’t have to be most profitable think in the game.

For context, I was running deli for the past few hundred maps simply because it’s fast and my main goal is to find myself a decent Kineticist merc. With deli I can hop in, clear the map, check the merc and kill the boss = profit. I just got a little bored of it and can’t think of anything similar.

My character is quite strong (Ubers/deli orbs easy) and can do all map mods - only thing is I will always use infamy scarabs to keep fishing for that merc.

Appreciate all suggestions!

The rotation itself is pretty boring, and in my opinion, the rewards are not worth the time. There are definitely better ways to make currency these days. The only reason to do this rotation is to farm enough fragments for the Shaper, but that's it.

Fluff & Memes Last night I had a dream for a new league mechanic

And it's horrible, I hate it, therefore you must know about this as well.

Think "Factorio" or "Satisfactory".

You go through the campaign and/or maybe maps to collect parts to build an assembly line of machines to auto-craft items.

You get to set configurations on different stages of machines to start the next step in the crafting process.
Add all your AND, OR, IF, NOT conditions.
Select specific mods and tiers.
Set Loops with Alteration orbs or Restart with Scouring Orb, etc.
Choose which currency to use at which stage.
Have a new material in maps that you need to farm to use as fuel to make machines go brrrr.
Use existing materials like Bars/Dust/Sulphite/Azurite/Oils/etc. to boost outcomes or crafting speeds or whatever.
You put the base item in. You put your materials/fuel in that you want the machine to use. And you wait for either the perfect item based on your config, or a bricked item because you tried Fracturing Orb.

I guess you could argue that it should just grab currency from your stash, but I'd rather not have people accidentally use expensive stuff. So many times people sell HH or MB for exalts/chaos when they didn't mean to. Imagine accidentally setting up a wrong config and spending all your divines when you want to chaos spam.

Discussion A few thoughts on the state of the game

English not being my first language, i hope to put those thoughts in clear words to be understood.

First of all an overall feeling being close to end the league : the game is good, lots of builds to try, lots of crafting tools available, lots of loot (i have been quite lucky for once having dropped a lock, a mageblood and a broken mirror, amongst other things). I love the atmosphere in the league mecanic, atmosphere is what dragged me to the game in the first play and it still and always rocks !

What i loved most this league : building a luminary. A flame link life stacking with combatant merc' specifically. So much alleys to scale the build, so many items and specific mods to target, farm, craft, etc. That makes me realise that this is truly what i love most about the game : building a char and incrementally upgrading it. With some SSF off meta builds it can end up a pain. With a luminary in SC trade it's...like being a toy shop with endless money and getting to try everything !

What i loved less : content creators building negativity because they lack endgame farming and aspirationnal content. I get it, this specific content is lacking, for real. But this gave me a general off feeling at the start of the league and then, when theses voices dissapeared i finally enjoyed the game better and didn't care. I know i can close reddit, close twitch and everything, but i like to scroll reddit to discover new build ideas, i like to follow HCSSF streamers and their journey, i like to chat on discord with my mates. The off feeling perfuses everywhere and it is hard to avoid it. This build of negativity casts such a shadow sometimes on the game when it's is actually 99% great. We don't need this kind of toxic relationship about a game that should just be fun.

In the end i still had fun, that's the most important.

Some other thoughts on the meta, build making and the state of the loot.

About the meta : everything is "smth stacking". I guess it is inevitable, i just hope "avg joe builds" would still work about enough to get to 2 voidstones at least.

Edit : guys commenting are right, avg joe builds are actually still plenty capable in sc trade. Lol maybe i am just bad at build making when going off meta myself XD

About build making : more and more binary items or stats that rend irrelevant a whole set of stats (stormshroud giving full ailment immunity for 100% shock avoidance, defiance of destiny giving virtual immunity to shotgun AND having quite great stats on the side, this kind of things) . Individually they are interesting, but at the end building a char becomes more a binary checklist of "get this item and that one and this specific defence is solved", rendering rolling rares completely useless. Why should i bother targetting T1 ailment avoidance over 3 different items when getting to 100% shock avoidance is trivial, demands less total affixes AND those affixes are on items where they are not in concurrence with other desirable affixes ?

This is all trade related of course, but in the end it puts the maximum pressure on very few items in trade, and is still easier than rolling great rares yourself. I mean, it's like the ubereats of POE builds, you can either cook yourself or get the already prepared stuff, and the thing is that the already prepared stuff ends up better and more efficient. It is...a bit dissapointing. Actually the builds where you end up working a lot towards great rares are the stacking ones where, i agree, the building process is usually great (outside of charge stacking mainly).

Well, enough about build making...to each their own i guess and building a lego of synergistic uniques is interresting in itself but it gives way less space for competitive non stat stacking full rare itemisation.

On the state of the loot : idk if i got a god seed this league, but i never had that much raw currency ground loot (not only in cursed ducat voyages but also in maps), there are still a number of "tile loot" league mecanics but i don't feel them as much mandatory as before and my way of playing (alch'n'go maven destructive play with various guardians most of the time) gives enough that i can buy most things in trade. Overall i feel the stat of the loot is better this league.

I don't know about the very high end, but in the end it never touched me i feel. I am as much able to budget what i need in this "high end poverty league" as i was in previous "high end über currency farm leagues" (i mean my expectation are realistic anyway i'm not farming mirrors). The ground is ok to me, i agree that it is fun having the über currency farmers sharing their crazy maps and loot, and that is lacking at the moment. It is still part of POE even if it is about the famous 0.0001%.

Well this is it, a wall of thoughts and i don't know who needed to read this, i hope this comes out as positive thoughts because i really had fun this league and i hope everybody else did !

Game Feedback Atlas changes I would like to see next league

Atlas changes I would like to see next league:

1.       Bring back map crafting options that allow us to use chaos orbs to add certain league mechanics to the map.

Firstly, it serves as an effective source of chaos orb sink and removes chaos orbs from the economy, preserving the value of chaos orbs in the league. This prevents the depreciation of chaos orbs as seen in Mirage and Allflame leagues, which saw the divine orb to chaos orb ratio rising rapidly several weeks after the leagues launched. There is currently a lack of chaos orb sink because chaos orbs are rarely used in the crafting process and somewhat only used to reroll Nightmare map mods and to craft certain crafted modifiers onto items.

Secondly, it amplifies certain farming strategies intensely by stacking the same league mechanic on the map. Alongside the use of Astrolabes to improve the rewards of the league mechanic and guarantee the league mechanic to show up, the loot you get from the map increases massively. League mechanics that benefit from using suitable map crafting options include anarchy, torment, domination, essence, heist, legion, abyss, breach and ambush.

Thirdly, it frees up a scarab slot because you do not have to use the scarab that guarantees the league mechanic to show up, so you can use an additional scarab to juice your maps further. It also enables you to refund atlas passive points that increase the chance for the league mechanic to show up and use them to invest in other atlas passives to juice your maps further.

2.       Memory Threads found in maps after completing the Threads of the Originator quest and defeating all three Incarnation pinnacle bosses for the first time should use your own map device and force you to use your own Originator Influenced maps to run.

With this change, you can now purchase Originator Influenced maps from other players with a specific number and type of modifiers and you can use up to 5 scarabs to juice your maps further. Currently, you are forced to use the Originator Influenced maps given by Eagon and are limited to 3 scarabs, preventing you from fully juicing the maps. As such, many players either sell Memory Threads they find or speedrun the maps from Memory Threads and quickly kill the map bosses to complete the Memory Threads as fast as possible.

3.       The types of Atlas Anomalies and the rewards from the Memory Vaults after completing Astrolabes should not be tied to a region out of 4 regions of the atlas.

Currently, many players only farm maps in the southwest corner of the atlas because the rewards from the Scholar’s Vault after completing Astrolabes in that region have the highest expected value. In addition, Atlas Anomalies in that region have the highest profit margins because of the presence of high-value encounters like the Manor Foyer and Gambling District. This lowers map layout diversity significantly and to avoid this problem, the types of Atlas Anomalies and the rewards from the Memory Vaults after completing Astrolabes should be divorced from the 4 regions of the atlas.

4.       Continue gating more league-specific loot only droppable from their respective leagues, such as fossils in Delve, Abyss jewels and Stygian Vises in Abyss, Timeless splinters and emblems in Legion and Catalysts in Ultimatum.

This keeps the value of league-specific loot consistently high throughout the league and incentivises players to farm various league mechanics to obtain each league-specific loot and trade league-specific loot more with other players. Such a policy should be extended to Essences from monsters with essence modifiers, Oils, Blighted maps and Blighted-ravaged maps from Blight and Delirium orbs, Cluster jewels and Simulacrum splinters from Delirium.

5.       Most leagues contain their own bosses with special uniques and loot, except for Essences, Shrines and Mercenaries. I hope to see unique bosses with essence modifiers and special bosses guarding shrines. In addition, allow us to open up to 5 mercenary warrants at the same time in a special arena for us to fight up to 5 mercenaries at the same time to obtain their loot or hire them as mercenaries.

6.       Add more astrolabes in the game, such as astrolabes increasing the number of and boosting the rewards from Essences, Strongboxes, Shrines, Tormented Spirits, Rogue Exiles, Beyond, Ore Deposits and Mercenaries. This change allows players to juice those league mechanics in their maps further.

Discussion Overview of melee archetypes?

As a long term top side spells and minion enjoyer, I am interested in playing melee in a small private league my friends and I are going to be starting soon. If I enjoy it enough I may even leaguestart it in 3.30.

Can anyone give me an overview of the different melee archetypes e.g slams (physical and bleed), strikes, boneshatter/trauma, cyclone, shield crush.

I'm mostly interested in how gameplay "feels" (piano vs single button) and leaguestart strength for quick campaign and Atlas progression.

Also interested to know what league mechanics each archetype is best suited to for farming currency in, as I'm usually a SC trade div/hr focused player.
