fraudulent returns
i’m so obsessed with the new feature where it puts the money right back onto the card the customer paid with. i’ve had so many people who are clearly doing fraudulent returns and they go “oh i don’t have that card anymore, can i get it on this one?” NO YOU CANNOT
just had a guy who allegedly bought a harness yesterday and claimed he “doesn’t have that card anymore”. like bro, i know ur full of shit. enjoy store credit bozo

Or yall get the ones that will bring an Items to return say they bought it not to long ago but when you go to return it says invalid because it’s like 5 months old then try and be like ohh what?? Can I just get the money still? Like mhm yeah.

Had someone bring in an item to return with a reciept that was 2 hrs old and wanted to return it. Impressive she still had the receipt but still no return or store credit. She wasn't mad though just said just thought I would try.

It actually used to be policy that a purchase made with a debit card could be returned to cash or to ANY card believe it or not. Purchases made with a credit card needed to go back to the original tender however.

You seem to be missing a lot of the self-interest reasoning for wanting the store to not get scammed:
Loss = cut hours= smaller paycheck.
Allowing scamming just encourages more harassment of the employees (yelling, slurs, threats, ect...)
And frankly, I do appreciate having folks respect that I'm an actually person doing a job.

And you think a store that gets scammed left and right is going to be rewarded? If it happens enough and they'll start cutting hours even more, then start firing people.
And its not "fighting customers," its telling them what the policy is. You dont get to walk over employees and get what you want because you yelled at them.

Yeah that’s a good feature. People need to stop scamming and think it’s not gonna bite them in the arse later on in life. Karma is a biaaccch lol

Lady the other day had 6, $100 items and wanted to do a cash return… I told her absolutely not for returns that large and in a completely other state Petco will issue a check for the amount through the mail. (Clearly fishy and she was crazy to think I’d give her the combined $600 just right from all 3 of my drawers… she tried to make huge scene/embarrass me and called corporate in front of like 5-6 other customers and said “I know policy I know (insert my name) has my money in the safe and won’t give it to me”. In my head I was like “ok so you absolutely just told corporate that you are a scammer but ok.” I didn’t even say much after that she was literally laughed out of the store by the customers who don’t pull that stuff 😖 I’m very professional in those situations but you always have to be on your toes as LOD! Also I have no name I work for petsmart !
