parking overnight

Hey, I was just wondering if there are any loopholes to get overnight parking for very cheap or free at Princeton University or somewhere close by. I was looking around and $180 a month is a lot.

ECO100

Hey everyone! I’m looking at the Princeton Courses site and it says Andrea Wilson is listed as the lecturer for ECO 100. I can’t seem to find any reviews for her anywhere, and it looks like this class is usually taught by Noonan or Shim. Has anyone taken a class with Wilson before? Just trying to get a sense of what to expect. Thanks! :)

Academic/Career MAT 104 Experiences

Did anyone go through MAT 104 (Calc II) recently? PrincetonCourses reviews were really low, and I'm about to take the course in a few days :(

Is there anything particular about the course that makes it more challenging than other math courses? Also, does it immediately leave off from MAT 103, or is there some overlap regarding topics?

Future Tiger Princeton philosophy PhD programme

Hello everybody,

I'm a European student currently trying to figure out where I might want to pursue a PhD in the US, and I'd really appreciate some advice from people who are familiar with Princeton's philosophy PhD programme.

My main interests are political philosophy and social theory, particularly 20th-century and contemporary thought. I'm interested in areas such as critical theory, pragmatism, postmodern/post-structuralist theory, and thinkers like Habermas, Rorty, Schmitt, Foucault, etc. I'm still early in my studies, so my interests will probably develop quite a bit over the next few years, but that's roughly the intellectual direction I'm currently interested in.

At the moment, I'm in my second year of a Bachelor's degree in Political Science, and I'm starting my first year of a separate Bachelor's degree in Philosophy. These are two completely separate bachelor's degrees at two different programs, it's not a combined bachelor's, or double-major within one degree which I think makes me somewhat more competitive(?). I'm hoping that having substantial training in both political science and  philosophy could be useful if I eventually apply for a PhD focused on political philosophy/social theory.

I'm currently only a sophomore, so I'm not applying anytime soon. I'm mainly trying to understand the landscape early so I can choose my courses, reading, research interests, and eventually master's/other preparation accordingly.

Thanks!

is rush actually banned / how do people even find it

i keep hearing greek is unrecognized and that if you rush you can get suspended. I’m confused if this applied only to freshman or to everyone.

  1. is rush banned for everyone or just first-years with one year suspension risk

  2. do you have to get tapped, or does it happen openly (people just sign up)

  3. where do people actually meet sorority members if you’re not already friends with them (what clubs, activities, or spaces)

New meal exchange system finalized, specific details still unclear

A new online system to facilitate meal swaps will launch at the start of the Fall 2026 semester. The Interclub Council (ICC) and the Graduate Interclub Council (GICC) have collaborated with the University to develop a platform following the decommissioning of the University-sponsored MealX system, which the University deemed too expensive to continue maintaining.

Meal exchange enables students in different eating clubs or on different meal plans to dine together by “trading” a meal from each plan.

Cheap eats and groceries

So I was on the unlimited dining plan first two years (as I believe is required), now I’m on the block 128 plan. Does anyone have recommendations for cheap and convenient options for food near campus plus for getting groceries? I’ve found some stuff online but I wanna hear from actual students

Extracurricular activity commitment

How many hours of activity do Princeton students usually do per week? For context, I am an AB student, so no strenuous labs (I have about 12 hours of classes a week). I am thinking of doing a sport and an acapella group which I know is super ambitious. I was wondering if anyone has any advice.

What IB course credits does Princeton accept?

Ik there's an AP table on the website and a 7 on IB exam is equivalent to a 5 on AP exam. But what specific courses actually count? For example, can HL Business Management count as an econ credit? And does the course have to be HL MAA rather than SL or MAI for a math credit?

Pre-Med question

As premeds we need 2 semesters of biology and one biochemistry class.

I had heard from another pre-med that there is a way to fulfill the biology requirement without taking Mol 214 and instead just taking 2 EEB courses if you are not a chem major.

can I do that? Do I need to take mol 214 to take biochemistry?

Random question about the Tiger mascot

Random Princeton mascot question for alumni/current students: when you think or talk about the Tiger, what pronoun comes naturally to you, if any?

He/him

I just say ‘the Tiger’

Also curious what year you graduated!
