All started from a single leaf. It's crazy how fast they grow.

Bought a bouquet at a local farmers market two weeks ago that had a Japanese maple cutting in it with some flowers. Went to throw out the droopy, rotting flowers yesterday and saw that the Japanese maple branch was still quite perky, then noticed that it had roots right as I was about to put it in the trash 😅

Now it’s my little experiment. I cleaned the vase and put fresh water in it. I have rooting hormone. Should I put some in there and see what happens? Not sure how likely it is that it’ll keep growing roots and become a happy plant if I move it to some soil in the future!

Has anyone thought that a spider plant could grow like this 🤔 well im going give it a go any reason why it shouldn't??

It's almost spring, and I've had some of these cuttings in a prop box for a couple of months.

Climbing roses.

Black tulip magnolia.

Japanese maple.

Eskimo Sunset maple.

There's several sequoia at a property the DNR purchased to renaturalize near me, only one of my cuttings rooted but I'm pretty stoked! Going to try again with some of the other trees there (incense cedar, coast redwood, etc) come fall.

There is a beautiful 'bergonia house' where we live. Picked up one fallen leaf and a few months later...!

I see little growings that I will like to move to a new plant to have more surviving possibilities as I am not having much luck to have plants for long time.

Is this possible? What steps should I do?

I bought this one, and repotted it about a month ago.

I picked these Pothos cuttings off the floor at Home Depot. The water bottles were found on the ground after I left. I also like to use them to start seedlings and regrow green onions, as you can see

Finally got my Oregon rosemary to root in water. Is it ok to plant in a clump rather than separating the individual stems? I’ve separated individual stems when transferring to soil in the past and they never seem to take off. The pot is about 3 gallons that I’m transferring to. Thx for the help.

These were on one of the shelves already fallen off next to plants but nowhere near the plants they came from. I figure someone wanted to prop and chickened out. So I put them in my purse. But I don’t feel bad I bought 3 plants too.

I found this leaf on the floor while shopping for office plants. I slipped it in my pocket and brought it back with me. I didn't think anything would come of it, but it's been a few weeks and just look at it! Now if I can just get it to grow some decent roots.

My aunt gave me a huge cutting from her pothos. It's been sitting in water for around a month (I change the water every now and then). When can I transfer it to soil? And how can I best keep it alive while it grows roots and after the transfer?

Been in this old, big mason jar the whole time, just from a grocery store avocado pit, about 28” tall now with no plans to change the process 👍🏼

So I went to a few nurseries while on holiday and I found a couple plants that I loved, only to see that leaves had been obviously been cut for propagating. The smaller versions of these “propped” plants were for sale as well. Is this in bad practice? Buying a plant that has been chopped not only feels like I was cheated , but the plant is now uglier and the store gets to sell that new plant for another $20.

So I just bought a cute little dwarf umbrella last week…and then found this monster today in a 3’ tall vase abandoned next to a corner trashcan. I’m honestly not even sure which end is up - best way to propagate this into something manageable and attractive??

my monstera has been water propping for about nine months. working on putting out the third leaf since, but is smaller than the two previous.

what fertilizer can I give use to help boost the growth? i would like to keep her as a water prop long-term. i’ve been researching and i plan to buy an air stone. is there anything else i should be doing?

Employee was stocking plants and saw a huge handful of pink panther tradescantia pieces on the cart. Decided to just ask for them and he was nice and had no problem with it ☺️ Was out shopping for a few more hours so I didn’t get them in water right away but hopefully these root a little so I can plop em in soil with less worry! Will probably put a little ziplock bag over for humidity for more of a prop box environment

Took a “tradescantia family photo” recently (majority grown from just cuttings!) and this was one that was suggested as my next addition - today was the day apparently!

Snagged a rescue/discount $5 Moses in the cradle as well! ☺️🙃🤓
