Forum question Help me, I'm scared

Hey, y'all. I'm 22 and I've never played a horror game before. But I loved WEAPONS, so when I saw that Zach Cregger's Resident Evil movie was coming out this month, I knew I had to play at least a few of the games before I went to see it. I'm playing RE 2 (the remake because I'm a hyperactive zoomer that needs to be able to control the camera or else i get too scared), and I'm really liking it so far, but IDK if i can truly call myself a fan until i experiance more of what this series has to offer. Y'all have any suggestions on what games in the series I should play next? I don't want to go in release order cuz i've heard some of the games are kinda iffy, and there's so many remakes and spinoffs in this series that I am very confused about what games are worth playing.

General Capcom have no intention of RE5 Remake but what if...

RE Veronica is just the beginning of Chris's remake saga?

Just like RE2 was the beginning for Leon's Saga and ended with Requiem. What if RE Veronica is a way for them to continue the Remakes without going back to RE1 and then end with RE 10? Which we play as Chris?

RE2 - RE4 - RE9 = Leon

REV - RE5 - RE10 = Chris

Anyway that's just something that crossed my mind

Forum question Which protagonist do you think will be the main focus of the next Resident Evil game?

My money is on Claire as she hasn’t had her own game since Code Veronica. Also with the Veronica remake coming up, I think it’s hinting at that idea being a really good possibility. I would also like to see Jill back as well. Maybe Claire and Jill can costar together on the next RE game.

Product question Where to watch Death Island movie.

Resident Evil Death Island has apparently left Tubi but, unlike the other movies that are moving to Netflix or Hulu, I don't see it anywhere to watch it. So where the hell do I watch it at?

Im replaying RE 9 again and idk got me feeling some kinda way about a comfort character I've had since I was a little kid lol. Just dropping some ocxleon art I've collected through the years.

Some super basic info is anyone cares lol.

Ocs name is Scarlett Faylyn, punk rocker just starting her career stuck in raccoon city when it all went down. She and Leon had been on again off again since high-school. Got married in 2000 and had their first kid after Op Javier, by 9 they've been married 26 years and have 4 kids. She was on the verge of death before 9, barely held on long enough to get cures. They just want to rest and have a vacation

ALSO LAST ONE ISN'T MEANT TO BE NSFW BUT I DEF GET IT IF YOU THINK THAT LMAO

General Something I Noticed About the "Welcome Leon" Sign in RE9

In the original Resident Evil 2, we saw a sign that read, "Wellcome Leon"

In the Remake, we say a sign that read, "Welcome Leon"

And now, we have a sign that says "Wecome Leon" (technically, "Leon Wecome")

Each game removes an L from the sign. I have to hope this is an intentional joke/easter egg from the developers. I wonder if we'll get a sign that says, "Wecome Eon" when we get Resident Evil 2 Remake Remake.

General I'm hyped for the new Resident Evil movie! But am I the only one annoyed that people aren't allowed to have a negative opinion about it without being dismissed?

Post image

People have a right to their opinion. As long as it's not bigoted. The beautiful thing about art is the different opinions you can have of it.

But anyone who's disappointed that the film is a original story instead of a adaption is immediately downvoted and shut down.

I know people have been complaining, but it's mainly been met with backlash. With the people defending the film being louder than those who hate it.

Now, as I said I'm cool with a original story, and I'm excited for the film. But I hate how anyone who wanted a proper adaption is treated like they're completely unreasonable, akin to those morons complaining about The Odyssey cast.

Did everyone forget that The Last Of Us show was a pretty much direct adaption, and everyone loved it? At least season one. It became one of HBOs most successful shows ever made and one of the most watched. But if you want the same for Resident Evil then apparently you're just a asshole. With a lot of people saying "You just want the games again? That's boring! Just go play them instead!" Well why wasn't anyone saying that for The Last Of Us? No one was saying it's boring or that they have the games so it's pointless.

I don't really feel the need to give examples of the films detractors being dismissed because you can pretty much find it in any post discussing the film. But I will give one example for you guys: \[here\](https://www.reddit.com/r/okbuddycinephile/comments/1t0dnji/dont\\_you\\_hate\\_it\\_when\\_they\\_dont\\_jingle\\_keys\\_in/)

Fucking what? 😭

Wanting a adaption of your favorite games is "jingling keys"? 1000 people agree with this? What? No one was saying this shit for people who wanted a accurate Animal Farm adaption. And yes, I know there's a world of difference between George Orwell writing and Resident Evil writing. But the point still stands.

But with that being said. I'm still excited for the film and am perfectly fine with Creggers approach. He's never directed a bad film. I'm sure I'll love it. I just don't like how people can't voice any negative opinions without some sort of backlash.

Forum question Why did RE2R succeed while Dead Space Remake failed?

I was thiking about upcoming survival horror games and was counting on Dead Space 2 Remake as an upcoming game... until I decided to look it up and learned that Dead Space 1 Remake flopped and so everything was scrapped.

And I wonder... why? RE2R is massively similar, I think. To list some of the similarities I can think of:

- They both like to set up an atmosphere. Dark corridors, eerie silence, eerie sounds, distant zombie/monster groans.

- They both, heavily, make use of backtracking. You dance all over the place in both the Police Station and the Ishimura. The same places undergo minor changes as the story progresses, and, considering the first point, they succeed in making you dread when you realize you have to backtrack to some place you fear.

- They both have stalker enemies that do not overstay their welcome. Mr. X begins chasing you around the Police Station after you learn most of the layout, and mostly leaves you alone after that section, appearing briefly for some fights. Also, sound (his footsteps) is a major selling point for him. In DS, The Hunter chases you intensely in 2 out of 12 chapters, and briefly appears in a third one. In the other 9 chapters, he leaves you completely alone. Also, sound (hearing him in the vents around you) is a major selling point.

- The main characters arrives at Place X to do Y, finds out Place X is massively fucked, and the game has them gtfo of Place X.

Anyway, the are more (emphasis on inventory management, resource scarcity, mid-difficulty puzzles), but the question is: wtf made one game sell 20 million copies and the other sell less than 2? Was it just the name, or is there something I'm not seeing?

Lore question RE 9 is confusing Spoiler

Bruh that whole thing with Grace’s backstory for RE 9 makes no sense 😭

So youre telling me Spencer wanted to be good in the end?

Whats with that atrocious Grace flashback segment ? Why even have that if thats not even Grace?

Was that facility in the end built under raccoon city before or after the nuke?
Was it still functioning and operated by people?

How many secret underground facilities were under raccoon city?

What led the bad guys to believe that Grace had something to do with Elpis? They thought she was bioengineered ? For what?

The game was amazing but it was too short. I 100% it on steam pretty quick when it came out but the story and lore kept bugging me.

Also Leon’s segment in the “returning to the police station” was way too short. They should have just extended that part instead of putting that horrible flashback that didnt even add anything to the story.

Wasted potential, I loved the gameplay but it just felt it was held back and rushed. I would give it a 6/10. Just because of that flashback, the short gameplay, confusing story, and the wasted the nostalgia bait.

TL;DR:
Whats the deal with Spencer suddenly being good?
Do they just keep coming up with another secret underground facility in the same nuked city? Whats the deal with Grace?

(The whole point of TLDR is so dumb. So youre telling me you dont want to read? You dont want some text to waste your precious time? Well why are you even on reddit ?lmao?)

Product question Crashing on PS5

It’s actually so annoying that the game crashes every time I launch into the game. I’m on a PS5 Pro. I’ve never had this issue with any game before. The whole game just crashes instantly. This has happened more than 12 times today. Any advice?

Lore question Question about Zeno Spoiler

Post image
9 Upvotes

Zeno had SO much potential to expand upon.

Obviously he was in RC during the events of RE2 (has the same virus markings as Leon, Sherry, and Hunk).

Aside from Gideon calling him an imitation (given his appearance plus identical abilities, it’s easy to conclude he’s another child from Project W), and Zeno has the same VA as Wesker; does anyone know if there’s official lore to him anywhere?

Edit: No idea why so many people are downvoting this post. Truly sorry if it somehow offended someone.

Gameplay question salazae boss fight resident evil 4 (2005)

I've gotten to this fight finally! I've tried it a few times now and I just can't seem to get it... I understand the question for when his eyeball monsters going to chomp me, and when I'm going to be swiped by the arms, but I keep running out of ammo. I have the rifle, shotgun, punisher, and broken butterfly and I usually magnum the eye, double rifle shot at him, and repeat until I run out of the 5 magnum ammo I have and double shot shotgun and rifle shots until I ultimately swap to my punisher.

I have around 3ish power upgrades on my shotgun, I think 1 maybe 2 on my rifle, 2ish on my magnum, and fully upgraded power on my punisher.

is there an easier way to beat him? is there any better guns to use that don't cost an arm and a leg?

thank you for any advice😣

Forum question Petition to somebody that has RTX and access to neural rendering filtrated

I’d like to ask the community for a favor: I have a Pascal-based GTX 1070, and it isn't compatible with any DLSS 5 neural rendering implementations.
If anyone could get neural rendering working on the classic GOG version of *Resident Evil 3: Nemesis* using OneClickDLSS5 or another injector—and share screenshots of how it looks—I would be incredibly grateful. Thanks in advance, brothers.
