General Revelations and Penitence Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

Visited Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia and couldn't stop thinking about the opening of Revelations 2.

It opened in 1829 as the first prison built around *penitence* — total isolation, one skylight per cell, abandoned in 1971 and left as a preserved ruin. The barrel‑vaulted cellblocks, the rust, the peeling paint, the silence — it's basically Claire's escape from the detention block on Sushestvovanie Island, and the whole penitence/being‑watched theme lines up too.

I probably wont do it (because I'm lazy) but I was thinking about doing a ROM hack of Sweet Home where I Doki Doki Panic the game into Resident Evil and this is a basic idea of what the sprites would look like (Once I edit them in TLP Tile Layer Pro)

General I'm hyped for the new Resident Evil movie! But am I the only one annoyed that people aren't allowed to have a negative opinion about it without being dismissed?

Post image

People have a right to their opinion. As long as it's not bigoted. The beautiful thing about art is the different opinions you can have of it.

But anyone who's disappointed that the film is a original story instead of a adaption is immediately downvoted and shut down.

I know people have been complaining, but it's mainly been met with backlash. With the people defending the film being louder than those who hate it.

Now, as I said I'm cool with a original story, and I'm excited for the film. But I hate how anyone who wanted a proper adaption is treated like they're completely unreasonable, akin to those morons complaining about The Odyssey cast.

Did everyone forget that The Last Of Us show was a pretty much direct adaption, and everyone loved it? At least season one. It became one of HBOs most successful shows ever made and one of the most watched. But if you want the same for Resident Evil then apparently you're just a asshole. With a lot of people saying "You just want the games again? That's boring! Just go play them instead!" Well why wasn't anyone saying that for The Last Of Us? No one was saying it's boring or that they have the games so it's pointless.

I don't really feel the need to give examples of the films detractors being dismissed because you can pretty much find it in any post discussing the film. But I will give one example for you guys: \[here\](https://www.reddit.com/r/okbuddycinephile/comments/1t0dnji/dont\\_you\\_hate\\_it\\_when\\_they\\_dont\\_jingle\\_keys\\_in/)

Fucking what? 😭

Wanting a adaption of your favorite games is "jingling keys"? 1000 people agree with this? What? No one was saying this shit for people who wanted a accurate Animal Farm adaption. And yes, I know there's a world of difference between George Orwell writing and Resident Evil writing. But the point still stands.

But with that being said. I'm still excited for the film and am perfectly fine with Creggers approach. He's never directed a bad film. I'm sure I'll love it. I just don't like how people can't voice any negative opinions without some sort of backlash.

Forum question Petition to somebody that has RTX and access to neural rendering filtrated

I’d like to ask the community for a favor: I have a Pascal-based GTX 1070, and it isn't compatible with any DLSS 5 neural rendering implementations.
If anyone could get neural rendering working on the classic GOG version of *Resident Evil 3: Nemesis* using OneClickDLSS5 or another injector—and share screenshots of how it looks—I would be incredibly grateful. Thanks in advance, brothers.

Forum question Help me, I'm scared

Hey, y'all. I'm 22 and I've never played a horror game before. But I loved WEAPONS, so when I saw that Zach Cregger's Resident Evil movie was coming out this month, I knew I had to play at least a few of the games before I went to see it. I'm playing RE 2 (the remake because I'm a hyperactive zoomer that needs to be able to control the camera or else i get too scared), and I'm really liking it so far, but IDK if i can truly call myself a fan until i experiance more of what this series has to offer. Y'all have any suggestions on what games in the series I should play next? I don't want to go in release order cuz i've heard some of the games are kinda iffy, and there's so many remakes and spinoffs in this series that I am very confused about what games are worth playing.

Lore question Question about Zeno Spoiler

Post image
8 Upvotes

Zeno had SO much potential to expand upon.

Obviously he was in RC during the events of RE2 (has the same virus markings as Leon, Sherry, and Hunk).

Aside from Gideon calling him an imitation (given his appearance plus identical abilities, it’s easy to conclude he’s another child from Project W), and Zeno has the same VA as Wesker; does anyone know if there’s official lore to him anywhere?

Edit: No idea why so many people are downvoting this post. Truly sorry if it somehow offended someone.

I'm one of those gamers that plays everything on the easiest difficulty and with Code Veronica not having any choices of difficulty I feel like a chud because I'm so bad. I'm awful with the knife even though it saves me ammo, and by the time I find any heals I need to use them because I don't trust myself to stay alive long enough without using them. Currently have to place the eagle plate back at the prison area but I can't even make it back through the zombies without this happening to me. I think this was the fifth time I tried to take on one of the zombies but my health is on danger. Are they any tips you all have to motivate me 😫

General Losing Jacket is The Ultimate Plot Armor Spoiler

Correct me if I'm wrong but every RE major character I know who wears jacket, only to lose it at some point in the game means they're pretty much guaranteed to survive.

So yea, if you happen to be a RE character that plays a big role to the story, wearing a jacket/coat carry some serious risk.

** SPOILER WARNING !! *\*

Legend :

✔ - Survives

❌ - Dead

RE Code Veronica (2000) :

❌ Steve didn't lose his jacket, the rare time when captors don't like a jacket.

RE2Remake :

✔ Leon took off his jacket when gearing up in RPD station. (@Percival_Dickenbutts)

✔ Claire technically loses one by giving her jacket to Sherry.

✔ Ada shows her soft spot by giving her coat to Leon.

RE4Remake :

✔ Leon got robbed of his jacket by the evil residents.

✔ Ashley shares the same fate as Leon.

❌ Luis sadly didn't lose his jacket, rest in peace sancho.

RE5 :

✔ Chris took off his jacket pretty quick, wonder where he left it.

RE6 :

✔ Leon technically loses it by booking a flight to China.

❌ Helena didn't lose her jacket in China, alive but no future game for her.

✔ Chris left his jacket at the bar.

❌ Piers also left his jacket at the bar, so WHY Capcom ?!!

✔ Jake got robbed of his jacket by Walmart-Ada and her goons.

✔ Sherry shares the same fate as Jake.

RE8 Village :

❌ Ethan didn't lose his jacket, still saved it for Rose in his dying breath.

✔ Chris left his coat in the truck even before we play as him, smart fella.

RE9 Requiem :

❌ Alyssa didn't have the chance to ditch her coat, paid the price.

✔ Grace got robbed of her jacket by the big Spencer-Fanboy.

✔ Leon shares the same fate as Grace.

I think there's more that I missed and other RE games I didn't know.

Might be fun to hear additional inputs from you. 😄

Lore question RE 9 is confusing Spoiler

Bruh that whole thing with Grace’s backstory for RE 9 makes no sense 😭

So youre telling me Spencer wanted to be good in the end?

Whats with that atrocious Grace flashback segment ? Why even have that if thats not even Grace?

Was that facility in the end built under raccoon city before or after the nuke?
Was it still functioning and operated by people?

How many secret underground facilities were under raccoon city?

What led the bad guys to believe that Grace had something to do with Elpis? They thought she was bioengineered ? For what?

The game was amazing but it was too short. I 100% it on steam pretty quick when it came out but the story and lore kept bugging me.

Also Leon’s segment in the “returning to the police station” was way too short. They should have just extended that part instead of putting that horrible flashback that didnt even add anything to the story.

Wasted potential, I loved the gameplay but it just felt it was held back and rushed. I would give it a 6/10. Just because of that flashback, the short gameplay, confusing story, and the wasted the nostalgia bait.

TL;DR:
Whats the deal with Spencer suddenly being good?
Do they just keep coming up with another secret underground facility in the same nuked city? Whats the deal with Grace?

(The whole point of TLDR is so dumb. So youre telling me you dont want to read? You dont want some text to waste your precious time? Well why are you even on reddit ?lmao?)

Forum question how could capcom realistically write leon being married?

that's not really a "who's leon married to?" discussion, i'm just curious to know if anyone thinks about this decision the same way i do. just so you know, i'd rather leon to be with a random civilian, but the point here is; if capcom made leon marry any main character, how can they make it realistic?

as we know, this fandom is very divided between leon/claire and leon/ada, and capcom surely knows that. that's why, in merch and other stuff, they always portray leon, ada, and claire with romantic elements. for example, ada and claire as brides and leon as the groom in the minna to biohazard clan master, which was officially developed, published, and authorized by capcom. marrying leon to anyone would be a huge bombshell in the fandom. if leon marries ada, claire fans will be angry, as well as some older players who are attached to the personality ada had in the original 2 and 4, and to some extent in 6. in the remakes, she has a slightly softer personality, but many people haven't taken that change very well because she feels so different, so they'd probably be upset too. if leon marries claire, the ada fans and some newer players will be mad. and then there are the ashley fans, etc. capcom has always tried to "feed" every ship so they could keep making money without alienating any part of the fandom, so why would they suddenly commit to one? there are also some huge questions that would have to be answered in a single dlc, regardless of who the wife is.

if it's ada:

– what's ada's real name?

– how did ada, with her extensive criminal history, end up married to a government agent without even having to move away or go into hiding?

– why didn't ada help leon during his mission? i'm not talking about making an appearance, since that would ruin the suspense, but why not leave him a weapon or something?

– how did she reveal her real name to him, and how did all of that happen?

– how did a relationship that hasn't really changed in 14 years suddenly work out?

– ada's last appearance was in 2012, while leon's last appearance was in 2015 in death island. we didn't even get any mention of her in vendetta or death island, so why?

— plus, simmons soft retcon in requiem. what happened in re6 now?

if it's claire:

– how did they develop romantic feelings for each other?

– what was their understanding of the leon x ada situation after raccoon city?

– i'd say they'd also have to explain why sherry hasn't talked about claire, but i'm pretty sure that was intentional so they wouldn't spoil whether she's the wife or not.

if it's ashley:

— how did they meet again?

– when did they develop feelings for each other?

–why wasn't she mentioned in any of his other appearances? did they only start talking again in 2015?

and it just keeps going.

capcom has never really tried to build toward a marriage. even though we've had some """romantic""" moments between leon and ada, their relationship has never actually progressed. it's always something like: "hey leon, i kinda care about you, you know? take this weapon... oh, and thanks for the help takes something. bye!" — "why do you always do this, ada? damn... okay, bye." and then it repeats. it's also worth remembering that ada and leon spent long periods of time without seeing each other, and leon doesn't even know ada's real name. why would capcom suddenly introduce a marriage when they've never really established any progression toward it? claire and leon's dynamic has had its moments too, but it's also mostly something like: "oh, leon, it's so nice to see you. thank you for being there." — "no problem. you're okay?" — "yeah." cute smile and then that repeats too.

sadly, the ring isn't just a "family/survivor thing," since nakanishi talked about "a wife." i'd like it to be a civilian. i thought it was %100 a main character due a SS but it's proved to be fake (i'm pretty sure?), so there is a chance. if it was a main character (which i doubt), my preference would be claire, simply because she has had a more recent appearance and more interactions with leon, it'd also be easier to explain how they got together and why. i like ada x leon too, but it would be really confusing. my main question is how they'd make the pairing make sense if they officialized any main x leon. i can see "aeon" eventually getting together, but marriage at this point in ada's life doesn't fit her character at all. even if she's not a "housewife," the idea of her leaving her job behind feels strange to me. i've seen theories that she could have become fbi, but if capcom wants to stay somewhat realistic, there's literally a 0% chance of that happening given her history. i feel like she'd want to leave the mercenary life behind, especially considering the re3 epilogue, but even after that epilogue, she still didn't actually leave it. and if she suddenly abandoned that life for a man, that would feel like a huge hole in her character.

leon having a "place to go home to" and "peaceful moments" also implies that his wife is supposed to be that peaceful place for him. his own life is still turbulent, with him going on missions like requiem, so his home life would presumably be the calm part of it all. that means his wife would have to have left the mystery and intensity of that lifestyle behind. the whole "the ring serves to show how leon changed" thing would also make less sense if it's ada, since he'd still essentially be the same guy from raccoon city who fell in love with a mercenary after one night. i've also wondered if they're going to make both claire x leon and ada x leon canon. i seriously wouldn't put it past them to make some goofy thing like "who has leon's heart? your decision!" and let the player choose between two rings or something, with an "a & b route" kind of system. it'd be so fanservice-y that it'd probably be boring, even if it were the """safest""" option if we're talking about the main characters. it'd be terrible, genuinely. honestly, i'd still rather they just not have marriage between any resident evil character at all, besides ethan and mia.

so i say this very firmly: it's not about "which woman makes the most sense as leon's wife?" it's about "what story could capcom possibly show us that would make leon being married feel well-written?" i liked requiem a lot, i really don't understand why they put the marriage thing there.

Fan labor/Art/Cosplay I’m a solo dev creating a horror game inspired by Resident Evil, Mexican Folklore and a real life location in Mexico. How are the vibes looking so far?

Hey everyone! Hope you are all doing well today.

Just wanted to share some more new clips for my horror game. It's inspired by one of my all time favorites games: Resident Evil, Silent Hill and a little bit of outlast mixed in with also a lot of Mexican folklore into it. The game is inspired by a real-life location as well.

It would be awesome if you can wishlist and tell me what you think about it. It would mean the world to me!

Steam Link: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4581370/Where_Dolls_Hang. Thank you!

Also, If anyone would like to support the development of the game, get early access, or even have their name in the game as a supporter, I decided to reopen my Patreon here after some consideration. Supporting is completely optional of course, and I truly appreciate every one of you regardless! Since I’m funding the entire game myself, any extra support genuinely goes a long way towards development and helps me continue working on it.

Thank you all so much! :)

Im replaying RE 9 again and idk got me feeling some kinda way about a comfort character I've had since I was a little kid lol. Just dropping some ocxleon art I've collected through the years.

Some super basic info is anyone cares lol.

Ocs name is Scarlett Faylyn, punk rocker just starting her career stuck in raccoon city when it all went down. She and Leon had been on again off again since high-school. Got married in 2000 and had their first kid after Op Javier, by 9 they've been married 26 years and have 4 kids. She was on the verge of death before 9, barely held on long enough to get cures. They just want to rest and have a vacation

ALSO LAST ONE ISN'T MEANT TO BE NSFW BUT I DEF GET IT IF YOU THINK THAT LMAO

Gameplay question salazae boss fight resident evil 4 (2005)

I've gotten to this fight finally! I've tried it a few times now and I just can't seem to get it... I understand the question for when his eyeball monsters going to chomp me, and when I'm going to be swiped by the arms, but I keep running out of ammo. I have the rifle, shotgun, punisher, and broken butterfly and I usually magnum the eye, double rifle shot at him, and repeat until I run out of the 5 magnum ammo I have and double shot shotgun and rifle shots until I ultimately swap to my punisher.

I have around 3ish power upgrades on my shotgun, I think 1 maybe 2 on my rifle, 2ish on my magnum, and fully upgraded power on my punisher.

is there an easier way to beat him? is there any better guns to use that don't cost an arm and a leg?

thank you for any advice😣

Product question Where to watch Death Island movie.

Resident Evil Death Island has apparently left Tubi but, unlike the other movies that are moving to Netflix or Hulu, I don't see it anywhere to watch it. So where the hell do I watch it at?
