Hello! My husband and I are considering Richmond to relocate to (from Edmonton)
What are some of your favorite things about living there??
Also considering Burnaby but leaning more to Richmond
For context I was born and raised in maple ridge but my husband is from Edmonton. I want to move to the lower mainland to be closer to family

Needed a quick bite so went to the McDs by Ikea. Its been a long time since I have been here. I noticed there is now a black tiled wall where you cannot see the kitchen. I find it weird not being able to see the people preparing the food like other McDs 🤷🏿

Hi Richmond! Thanks to everyone’s suggestions last month our lunchtime has gotten significantly busier!
I am back again in hopes of gathering some feedback about what kind of food to serve during dinner. I’ve noticed that almost 1/3 of customers who walk in during dinner time would walk out after browsing our menu. I’m inclined to believe that people simply don’t want to eat Poke or rice bowls in general for dinner.
It’s currently 7pm and I’m sitting in a completely empty restaurant :(
What sort of food should we be serving at night? What do you crave during dinner time?
Thanks in advance!

UPDATE: LOKI HAS BEEN FOUND!!! ❤️🐾
Someone found Loki and he is safe!! 😭❤️
Thank you SO much to everyone who shared my post, kept an eye out, checked around the neighbourhood, and helped us look for him. We are so incredibly relieved to have our boy back home. 🥹
Thank you especially to the person who found him and kept him safe. I seriously can't thank you enough. ❤️🐾
LOKI IS HOME!! 🥹❤️
🚨 MISSING SENIOR DOG – PLEASE HELP US FIND LOKI 🚨
Our dog Loki is missing and we’re extremely worried about him. 💔
I was out at an event tonight, and when my parents brought my kids home around 9 PM, they called for Loki to come inside from the backyard but he didn’t come. They thought he was just lounging somewhere in the yard like he sometimes does. When I got home later, I checked outside and realized our side gate was open and Loki was gone.
We believe he went missing between 4pm-9pm on Aug. 30, but unfortunately we don’t know exactly when.
📍 Wallace Rd area, Richmond, BC — a couple blocks from No. 2 Rd / Williams Rd / Steveston Hwy
🐾 LOKI • Keeshond • 12-year-old senior dog • Very fluffy grey/black/cream coat • Has a bad LEFT EYE from an old injury — very noticeable and one of the easiest ways to identify him • Super sweet and a little shy at first, but he will usually approach you if you call him
Because Loki is friendly and will come to people when called, we’re also worried that someone may have found him and picked him up. If you have him or brought him somewhere safe, please contact us. We just want our boy home. ❤️
🙏 If you live nearby, PLEASE check your yards, garages, sheds and security/doorbell cameras this afternoon/early evening. Even a sighting with a time and location could help us figure out which direction he went.
📱 Please contact me through Facebook or call/text 778-223-2754 with ANY information.
PLEASE SHARE, especially around Richmond/Steveston. We just want our senior boy home safe. 💔🐾

I’ve noticed this especially at No. 3 Road Bark Park in Richmond, and I’m genuinely curious if other people have had the same experience.
When I’m walking around the park, I’ll make eye contact with people, smile, or say “hello!” and a surprising number of people just stare at me or completely ignore me. I’m not expecting anyone to stop and have a conversation, but I always thought returning a smile or saying hello was a pretty normal social courtesy, especially when you’re passing someone on a trail or your dogs are interacting.
It’s happened enough times that I’ve started wondering whether this is just normal Richmond/dog park behaviour, whether people are generally less social now, or (and I genuinely don’t want to jump to conclusions) whether race sometimes plays a role in how people respond to certain people.
Do you normally say hi or smile at people you pass at dog parks? Have you noticed people being particularly unfriendly at No. 3 Road Bark Park or other Richmond parks?
At this point I’m almost wondering if I should stop bothering to say hello when most people don’t acknowledge it 😭

Hi everyone, posting this in case anyone in the Richmond area recognizes this person or has had something similar happen.
On August 30 around 8:06 PM, this person came onto our property, went up to our front entrance/mail area, and took our mail without permission. We caught the incident on our security camera.
I’ve attached a couple screenshots from the footage. If anyone recognizes the person, has seen them around the area, or has experienced mail theft recently, please let me know.
If you have relevant doorbell/security footage from around the same time, that would also be really helpful.
Please don’t post anyone’s private information publicly or confront anyone. If you recognize them, DM me and I can pass any useful information along through the appropriate channels.
Thanks!

I want to find the SAME person to come over and help us clean the house once or twice a month.
I don't like using companies because they seem to send different people all the time.
Our last cleaner moved to a different province.
Appreciate recommendations & what you pay per hour roughly. I am near minoru park. Thanks!
