Watch Verification Thread - If you're uncertain if a Rolex is good/bad/fake, post info and pics here

Post to this thread if you have questions about a Rolex being real or fake. Please include:

-The location and/or screen name of the seller, if for sale. Link directly to the sale page when possible.
-How long you've had it and how you acquired it, if in your possession
-As many photos as possible. Posts may be removed if pictures are too fuzzy and requests for better pics are unanswered. -If you're being coy about a watch and it seems like you're just trying to see how "good" your fake is, you may be banned at our discretion.

Please don't use photos from iPhone 14's. Their camera is so bad, and distorts text with AI so much, that the photos are basically unusable for the purposes of verifying if a Rolex is real.

Participation in the discussion in this thread is greatly appreciated. I don't think any one person can catch every flaw or know the details of every model; this is meant as a community thread, not an authoritative knowledge-flex, and the more people that actively peruse this thread, the more likely posters are to get accurate info.

Previous verification thread here.

AD Wait Time Megathread - If you bought a new Rolex from an AD in 2026, you can share details here. What watch, where, how long did you wait, how much buying history?

Our previous AD wait time megathreads (2019-2020, 2020-early 2021, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025) seemed to be useful/well-received for a lot of you. Time for a new one!

Nowadays when someone posts a new watch it's pretty standard to get asked how long they waited and if they had an "established relationship" etc. It's not everyone's favorite topic but it's a fair question, so maybe these big threads can provide a clearer picture of availability trends.

No one is obligated to share their info but if you bought a new Rolex in 2026 and you'd like to participate, please make a top-level comment that includes:

  1. What watch did you buy?
  2. When?
  3. How long did you wait?
  4. Where are you? (Be as specific or nonspecific as you want, from continent to a specific AD)
  5. Any purchase history with that AD? (Again be as specific or nonspecific as you feel comfortable)

Recently picked up my first Rolex, a 116610LN, coming from the Tudor black bay one 39mm. Decided to take it on our trip to Venice and grab some photos. What a watch!

50th Birthday, 25th Anniversary, First Rolex

After waiting for years, I finally got my first Rolex.

I started with pretty much nothing 20+ years ago. I could have bought a Rolex much earlier, but financially, it never felt like the right time. There was always something more important to build or put the money toward.

This year I turned 50, and my wife and I are celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary in Switzerland. While we were in Lucerne, I decided to walk into Bucherer, an official Rolex retailer, not really expecting anything. I figured I'd look around, ask what they had, and if I got lucky, maybe I'd find the right one.

Turns out I got lucky and found the GMT-Master II I'd wanted for years in their Rolex CPO collection.

The timing just felt right. Right before this trip, we bought a brand-new home in Florida and paid for it in full. We still have our two homes in California, but with mortgages below 3%, there's really no reason for us to rush to pay those off. Our cars are paid off as well, including our two Teslas, Class B campervan, and MX-5 Miata.

After spending more than two decades building, saving, investing, and putting other priorities first, I finally felt comfortable buying something purely for myself.

The GMT-Master II isn't what made me feel successful. It's something I've wanted for years, and getting it at 50, in Switzerland, while celebrating 25 years with my wife made it that much more meaningful.

Icing on the cake. 🍰⌚

And don't ask what my wife got for our anniversary... 👜😂

Obligatory “I got the call!”

After putting the no-date on my list in March, I snagged this today! Very sharp watch, and the symmetry of this design is very appealing.

For those who are curious, my history with the AD is the purchase of a Tudor Pelagos in 2023. From what I gather, the “rarity” of these is dropping, which I’m happy about. I said no to the endless suggestions to buy jewelers or other watches.

It’s true what they say - pictures don’t justify how good this looks in real life. The color variations from light brown to dark chocolate on the bezel, the pink hue on the everose gold… a truly amazing piece.

Poor Experience - Reeds RSC

I just got my 114270 Explorer back from a service done by Reeds. I was surprised when I was quoted at 12 weeks but my watch was returned after only 4 weeks. I was told I needed a movement overhaul, a new crown, and a new crystal. I requested no polishing. The first red flag upon receiving my watch was that the bracelet was installed backwards. Okay I can overlook that .. The sales associated fixed it for me on the spot although he struggled with it for a while. I am now noticing the bracelet near the spring bars are completely chewed up. Next thing I notice is a massive scratch circling my entire bezel and a big scratch on the case back. So now I’m forced to have the bezel polished to fix this scratch. I’m hesitant to even give them my watch back at this point.

Got the call last month and absolutely loving this watch

I waited 3 months to get the call once it was officially on my 'wishlist'. Have a fairly good relationship with our AD. I love the rose gold with the complimentary sundust dial for this Daytona. I prefer this to the pikachu and ghost variations. Something about rose gold being less blingy/more understated and working with most skin tones.

I was on vacation and passed a AD and decided to pop in … they ended up offering me my dream watch! I have always dreamed of an olive green face. It was such a great experience and truly so happy to have this as my first piece 🥹

I visited four of my local Los Angeles AD's once each and was met with disappointment. I decided to pick up a used Sub Date in Tokyo at Watchnian. It joins my other 10 year old 116710BLNR.

126610 or 16610 alongside a 16750 GMT?

Post image
10 Upvotes

Im looking to garner opinion and experience. I’m torn between keeping my modern Submariner 126610LN or swapping it for a 16610.

My other Rolex is a 1980s GMT-Master 16750 Pepsi. It’s sentimental, fits my style and aesthetics much better, and I’m far more comfortable wearing it at work. My job is fairly outdoorsy, but for genuinely rough or dirty work I wear a G-Shock, so I don’t actually need the Submariner to be indestructible.

The 126610 is objectively a fantastic watch, but I often find it a bit too shiny, modern and “luxury Rolex” — basically a little too blingy for me — so I don’t wear it as naturally as the GMT.

That’s what has me wondering whether a 16610 would suit me better: still robust and practical, but with more of the understated, old-school character I like.
Would you go 16750 + 126610 for contrast, or 16750 + 16610 for a more coherent pair? Or, any other suggestion? I would like a sub in the collection regardless. Thanks.

Walk in score!

Didn’t get the call, but got a walk in offer! I was on a few lists around south Florida for my first Rolex. It’s only been a few weeks. Went to the Rolex Boutique at design district in Miami on a whim today. Didn’t ask if anything was available, we just started talking and I said the few models I’d like as my first. One I mentioned was a datejust 41 on jubilee with smooth bezel and white stick dial. My sales rep said “today’s your lucky day, I have something very similar available today”, and she came out with it on oyster. I couldn’t say no. I still can’t believe I have my first, and got it from the AD as a walk in. Crazy day!

Daydate 40 Blue Ombre or Daytona Rose Gold Sundust

Need help choosing one, they have both available at a small boutique

I know the Daydate Blue Ombre is rarer and maybe holds the value better? I really like both so I don’t know, the Daytona is a little more expensive and flashier.

Which one realistically holds it’s value better?
