Just a little reminder: strap up your helmet! A helmet isn't a helmet if it's not strapped on.

I've noticed that quite a lot of scooter riders in my neighborhood just pop their helmets on and then don't bother to strap their helmets on. If you have a helmet like that, and don't strap it on, that makes it not actually a helmet. A helmet with no strap holding it on is just a hat. It won't protect you even slightly in the event of a crash. It'll just fall off and you'll get to enjoy your crash with a naked head.

It's not worth being cool and not strapping your helmet on. Wear your helmet properly. For your own sake.

My scooter ain't scootering

So i got a 2012 50cc Jonway scooter with an Minarelli Horizontal type engine, i bought it not starting and i have replaced all gaskets, sparkplug, cylinder kit, CDI box, reed valves, ignition coil, starter motor, carburetor, fuel hose and fuel filter, now it's starts but doesn't idle for very long cold or hot with or without choke. And also every time when i go to start it after little longer (like a day) i see from the see thru fuel hose and filter that there's always air in the system and it's climbing towards the fuel tank. And also i don't know if it changes anything but my exhaust is leaking from the cylinder side because the gasket is not there good enough. I'm losing hope, or maybe i'm just stupid, please help. And also sorry for my maybe not so good english, i'm from Finland

Affordable first 125c scooter for a tall (6,5) but light rider (85kg)

Hi,

Just hoping I can get some advice here. I'm looking for a first 125cc scooter, I'm tall and long-legged so I want to aim for bikes that would be reasonably comfortable, but I'm on quite a budget (€1000 for a second-hand model). I've scanned the threads but just wanting some personalised advice.

I've been thrashing it out with AI and checking cyclo-ergo and I seem to have drawn up a shortlist of a few models that I could get within my budget and under approximately 30,000 km. Being:

SYM Symphony

Peugeut Tweet

Honda PCX (a little over budget)

Kymco Agility

Maxi scooters have also been suggested, I'm just a bit worried they will be massive and heavy, and out of my budget.

Super Dink

Joymax

Burgman

Nmax

Does anyone have any input on these or suggestions? FWIW I'm in a city in Spain and the search also takes into account availability/parts availabilty.

ATM the most frequent options that pops up within budget are Tweets, and I've ridden a Honda Click 125 (fine) and SYM Fiddle 50 (feels a bit small).

Thanks so much for any help at all!

Does anyone have an stl or step file for a GY6 carburetor spacer?

I am trying to 3d print a 24mm to 18mm carb spacer to help with the flow on my big bore kit 50cc. I am just looking for a template to start with that I can modify. Thanks in advance.

Yasuni eco restrictions?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi! I bought this yasuni eco exhaust like a few months ago and started wondering if this is a restriction? Did some research and turned out that there SHOULD be a restricting ā€strawā€ on the cylinder side… but i dont think there was one when i was installing it. So could this be just a relocated restriction system? For legal reasons: this bike will be used for offroad events in a closed area.

ā€œQuickā€ oil pump delete but turns out the whole engine needs to be removed. Still took maybe just under 2 hours and I’d never even done it before so that included going in blind and cleaning everything up at the same time. Love these things to death.

Honda PCX 125 vs PCX 125 DX - worth the difference?

Hi, so I've decided to get a PCX 125, but I can't decide whether to get the cheaper one or the DX. The dealer said the difference isn't really much except the chassis and display, which I don't really care about.

On the other hand, I am buying a brand new vehicle and am planning to use it for at least 5 years, so maybe it would be logical to get the better one?

Is anybody a bit more educated and could tell me whether it is worth it to pay 300 € more for the DX? I will mostly use it for daily commute to the city and within the city.

Thank you very much.

Winter Scooter Riding

Hey fellow scooter enjoyers! I was wondering if people had tips or ideas for winter(snowy) scooter riding at low speeds (30mph or less). I’m confident have been doing it the past few years but the primary issue I’m having is at rhe very end- getting back into the garage.

I enter from the alley so I have to slow down and make a right turn. There’s an incline that’s just steep enough that I can’t push the scooter up and since our maintenance people aren’t on top of snow removal there’s usually snow. I’m hoping to crowdsource some creativity

Thanks if you’ve any ideas

And I instantly turned 15 again, man this is so fun and nippy to just cruise around town with instead of a car. Hopefully we'll get many years together, it's a 2006 Aprilia sr50 factory.
