Climate360 Without Base
Can somebody confirm that the Climate360 mattress requires the adjustable base to function. As in, if I put the mattress on a different bed I lose the heating and cooling functions?
Edit: Can the base be placed on top of the bed slats or bunkie board?

Idk about require it to function, but it’s impossible to buy it separately.

Yea I saw that. We figured we’d just use it with a guest bedroom mattress. But then I saw some stuff that made it sound like it’s required for the mattress to even function.

Oh no yea that’s not an option either. Like SN sells it together and to use it you have to keep it together. I meant is it possible that SN could redesign the climate to operate as a mattress only? Maybe but they decided not to do that.

I am so glad you asked before jumping and starting to disassemble things. With the climate 360 you do absolutely 100% need the base in order for the bed to function properly. The reason why that is the only base that is not considered a final sale is because it has to go with the mattress as a full unit. And no, you cannot set that frame on top of a bunkie board or slats because it is extremely heavy and would be unsafe for anybody to sleep in. Now if you're looking to add furniture like a surround that goes around your bed you can absolutely do that, if there's drawers or anything like that under there so that you can set the base down into the frame. You need to buy the mattress and base. The heating and cooling elements are in the base.
It is the only base through Sleep Number you can return because of this.
