My moms abusing our cat
For context I turned 18 years old in June but I was 17 when we got her. My mom got a cat for my sister (11 years old) for Christmas, but she didn’t do any research whatsoever and had no idea how to take care of a cat. My mom literally hates cats (which is one thing, everyone has their opinions) but I don’t understand why she’d buy one if she hated them, and it’s very obvious she hates our cat. My mom wants our house to be spotless and didn’t want her to just be in the house free, so she’s been in a small cage in the corner sense December of 2025 when we got her. At first she at least had a bed, toys, a hammock, a litter box etc, but they took that stuff out not very long after having her, so she literally has nothing, she gets food and water and that’s it. My Grandma who also lives with us also hates her, will literally vacuum near the area with her in the cage when she’s clearly terrified, will clean the cage carelessly with her in it and she’s scared of the cleaning spray, and says awful things about her. I fucking hate it so badly but I don’t know what to do, my mom gets pissed at me so easily for the smallest things and when I’ve brought up what we’re doing with her and how she can’t stay in the cage forever my mom just rushes and conversation and brushes it off like it doesn’t matter at all. She’s not “just a cat” and I find that phrase so disgusting and disrespectful, she’s a breathing living being and she’s being abused. I don’t know what to do but I know this can’t continue, this isn’t ok.

CAUGHT
Isabelle always acts annoyed when the baby tries to love on her. Usually airplane ears, a little swat, or even jumping away, but then I caught her grooming the sleeping kitten.
She immediately said "No, you didn't see that. I would never "

I'm restricting their internet access
EDIT: Your comments are hilarious. I appreciate you all making me smile. I will post an update soon to show Kirby is okay but rn all she wants is to hang out with her tabby bf and as a Dad I need to respect that 🙏

Do you think my cat has British Short Hair ancestry
Hello everyone! My boyfriend and I have been debating whether or not my cat has strong british shorthair ancestry. I know for a fact his mama was a small tuxedo. My cat is a pretty big boy (2 yrs old and ~12lbs, maybe even bigger) and about a foot and a half long. He has a double coat and sheds so so much. I’ve attached some pictures! Curious to see what you all think!

Stormy
To the person who lost/left their cat at the bus stop in the Sequoia forest years ago. The cat survived. She got fixed and she's thriving! 🥰

Please help
So about 2 months ago my mom agreed to watch her friends cats for her while they went to another state for 2 months. Both the cats had fleas and they infested my whole house and my cat. I’ve sprayed the carpets with pet armor along with vacuumed. And most of our house is carpet. And every time I walk inside it seems like I get bit up every time. I need help I don’t know what to do. We sprayed the carpets yesterday and I’m still getting bit up does anybody know how long it takes for them to be gone. I’m literally sitting here trying not to break down I’m so pissed at my moms friends for this shit and they said there coming to get the cats next week but I’m ready to call animal control. And the cats are in the basement so there’s no way there still spreading. And we gave the 2 cats flea drops and it didn’t do shit. And my cats in the 2nd story in the house locked in a room and I’m getting bit at every part of the house it seems like. Please sombody I need some answers or some advice
