Ideas for help
Hey everyone,
Me and my wife decided to try moving to Tbilisi for (at least) a couple years in January 2027 and see what Tbilisi and Georgia might have to offer to a mid-aged couple.
We are both in our mid-thirties (saying so for the neighborhood ideas) and would very much prefer a quiet local scene and NOT A touristy - urban vibe. I hold a humanities PhD and she has an M.A, and our work requires silence for research, so a noisy area would not be our choice. My ancestors are part Georgian, so I don’t think I’ll have difficulties in adapting to the culture. Any ideas regarding the neighborhoods to rent long term (preferably 2 years). We both have remote jobs, but are considering English-speaking academia to contribute to Georgian culture as well. Initially, our budget would be about 500 USD per month. We also have a mid-sized shelter rescue dog.
Any help would be much appreciated!
