[Request] if all wealth in the USA was distributed equally, how much would each person get?

I've seen average income being quoted as $60ish thousand, but I know that income from stocks and capital are seperate from 'earned' income. If all the money that everyone in the USA earned from any source was put together and shared out equally how much would someone get? I'd also be curious about other forms of wealth such as property, but I expect that would get complicated?

Hi guys I was told to post on this sub

I have an idea of using my parent's electric car (KIA EV6) as a battery for powering 2x QSC K12 MK1 (1000W each) + 1 Pioneer DDJ SX1 (see specs on 2nd pic) + 1 laptop (has own battery) to throw a free party

Would this be possible electricity wise ?

Car battery is 58kWh

1st pic : K12's specs

2nd pic : Pioneer DDJ Sx specs
3rd pic : What the car can handle, what's written next to the plug

Thanks

[Request] How far away would the sun have to be from the sun for a single molecule to block a person's view of it?

Assuming human eyesight did not have a distance limit. How far away would one molecule have to be away from the sun for it to block your view of the sun. Assuming the molecule is 3 feet away from the humans eye and both the sun and the molecule are in a straight line.

I saw that Tagah used airbending to stop this mountain falling with one hand by blasting at the bottom which seems very inefficient. This must be millions of kilo's of force right?

[Request] How much audio could be recorded on a standard vinyl Record 80 feet in diameter?

  • Assuming to be scaled appropriately in regards to the center pieces' area and whatnot where audio is not recorded.
  • The grooves where the music is recorded are the same size as on a normal record - we're scaling the size of the record itself for storage space, not just making everything huge.
  • From my research, a standard 12-inch vinyl could hold approximately 22 minutes' worth of audio per side for a standard record player operating at the standard 33 1/3 RPM. If this is inaccurate, I apologize, my googling was brief.

[Request] Gas drops losing money

National price of gasoline in the US is $4.10 right now. I just bought gas and wondered how much money I lost when I removed the nozzle and a few drops of gas fell from the nozzle onto the pavement. What if those drops went into my gas tank instead? How much money am I losing for the gas drops that hit the pavement instead of my tank? How long before the lost gas droplets add up to a large number?

[Request] i really want to know the chances

I’m not good with doing probability and stuff like that, so I’m asking here. Can anyone figure out the probability of drawing a jester card 3 times in a row from 52 card deck, while also shuffling the deck in between each draw of said jester’s? I did it the other night and i was just wondering what the chances were. I don’t think it was the same jester though. (I swear I’m not just bad at shuffling😭)

[Request] The movie "The Martian" was cost-prohibitive

I can't imagine the cost to "return to Mars to save just one man." Has anyone already done the math? The movie is from 2015. I also wonder what the actual mathematical odds are that they'd even find him, retrieve him, and return him to Earth. Wait - aren't all odds mathematical?

[Request] What are the odds of the World Series, Super Bowl, and WCF being all LA teams in the same year? (say 2027)

With Arte Moreno finally selling the Angels, it made me wonder: What are the odds the Dodgers play the Angels in the World Series, the Rams play the chargers in the Super Bowl, and the Lakers play the Clippers in the Western Conference finals in the same year? (I don't watch NHL so I don't really know the LA teams) Assuming the current standings of the teams in their respective leagues, how likely is this all LA sports year?

[Request] How many grapes would fit in a horse, volume-wise?

My wife and I are having a multi-year debate. She keeps claiming that a “large and impressive” horse is roughly the same volume as 60,000 grapes. i disagree and believe that’s far too many grapes to make up a standard horse, even a big one. But we have no idea how to calculate the relative volumes… please help!

Edit: thank you all, I’ll graciously accept defeat in this battle

[Request] How long will it take to find another four leaf clover?

I found an area of land and I have found two four leaf clovers. I think they were in the same small patch but I am not sure. Assuming no one else picks four leaf clovers, how long should I wait before looking for another, or are there too many variables to calculate this? The patch of land was about 0.6m^2 I think.

[Request] What could be built using all the leftover hardware from assemble-it-yourself products?

All the extra screws, Allen wrenches, and brackets that people just throw away after the product is assembled. Products like desks, entertainment centers, chairs, nightstands, tables, etc. Let’s say just counting products bought by United States consumers in an economically average year of the 21st century. What could all that steel build? A bridge? A skyscraper? A bunch of those?

[request] Harry Potter time turner - how much extra does Hermione age due to her time travel?

In Prisoner of Azkaban (I’m rereading the book now so this has been on my mind), Hermione uses time travel to take multiple classes that occur at the same time. I’m wondering how much extra she ages according to the other characters in the book because she is reliving the same time period multiple times. I know on a basic level it’s a simple equation (if she takes three classes at 9AM she is living two extra hours per class compared to her classmates) but there are factors I don’t know due to the fact that I grew up going to public schools in the US not private boarding schools in England.

What I know from the book:

1) She takes 12 classes versus Harry and Ron’s 9 class schedule.

2) Three of these classes occur at the same time.

3) She has a set of three exams that overlap as well as another set of two exams that overlap.

What I don’t know:

Hogwarts is based on a typical UK boarding school so

1) How many days a week do typical classes occur?

2) How long does a typical class last for?

3) What is an expected amount of homework for a class?

I understand every school is different, every teacher gives a different amount of homework, and every student puts a different amount of time and effort into homework and this question is therefore unsolvable BUT I’m hoping people who have taught at or attended a British boarding school can weigh in and come up with some average values to enter into the equating. Can we:

1) Form an algebraic equation with defined variables to figure the answer out.

And

2) Create values that make sense for all these variables based on the unknowns.

Finally, let’s assume for purposes of this equation that she is not also using the time turner to catch up on lost sleep. She is only using it to take additional classes and do additional homework.
