In loving memory of Peter Cullen, the real life hero behind the fictional hero. A true role model and father to so many in his life, he meant more to me than I can really explain. He inspired me to live with grace, humility, and compassion, and to always “Be strong enough to be gentle.” He was there to light our darkest hour; a true source of hope when I most needed it.

May your legacy live forever in our hearts, Peter. Thank you for all you are and have done. Rest well, and be at peace.

And as I was about to go to sleep, I saw this I know someone did already but seeing Cullen doing his one final voice as Optimus prime is sad

I know its not as good as most other art here, but I tried my best and still think it turned out good. I wanted to say thank you and goodbye to one of my absolute favorite voice actors or even actors in general that ever lived. Rest in peace, Peter Cullen. Thank you for inspiring me and many others.

Mine would be Voyager Prime Megatron. At the time, I was entering my 20's and hadn't secured a decent job to justify buying him. Then when I finally did, he was nowhere to be found. Out of sheer naivety, I never looked online either.

It was just announced that a 12-minute animated short film, is going to be played after the 86 movie rerelease. It is called "Optimus Prime: Awakening" and is going to be Peter Cullen's last performance as Optimus Prime, as well as the last time he performs alongside Frank Welker.

I am insanely excited and terrified to see it, knowing it is Peter Cullen's last performance. I was looking at the poster and noticed a strange detail. It looks like the smokestack is clipping through Optimus' shoulder. That could mean that the poster was AI-made. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it was. I'm just really hoping it is not, because I feel that is MASSIVELY disrespectful.

Im primarily a gunpla collector at heart. As a kid I had tons of transformers though. I dont remember where a lot were from but I think most were unicorn trilogy.

I bought this prime after Cullen died (rest in peace <3) mainly to commemorate him.

I do partly feel like quality has decreased from what I remember though.

On what's good, its very detailed, overall I really like the alt mode and robot mode visually. Thats sadly kinda where the good ends.

On the bads. Its very hollow, mainly using these weird sliding pegs to join parts together. The joints themselves just dont feel good to move. Im used to giant ratchets in these figures that feel super solid. The plastic itself is a lot softer, littered with molding marks where its not been finished properly.

The transformation is very rough. It basically revolves around a very small amount of clearance given by a tiny hinge that barely moves for the bottom of the truck grill. You kinda just have to jam everything in. Its a far shout from older transformations.

I feel like a lot of the enjoyment of these figures have been sacrificed purely for visuals. They're also kinda expensive.

Edit: I will add actually I did buy tfone Studio Series prime when that movie came out and felt a lot of the same issues.

WFC/FOC cons have the insecticon horde and the nemesis ( so no trypticon ). Bayverse on the other hand has all the troops and ships shown in the 5 movies.

If I walk into Ross and there's a biggest Transformers box I've ever seen sitting on the shelf... I am GOING to grab it, honey. I don't have a choice! It's not up to me!

Believe it or not, about a a year ago, my first intentional purchase to get back into this hobby was SSBBM Soundwave. At the time, handling it was a bit odd - awkward yoga crunch transformation that gave you a space sandwhich alt mode. Maybe, i’d consider 86 soundwave a few months later. Well, that guy allegedly hit shelves and there’s no way i’d pay scalper prices for it, even in all its glory. so, there came a time where i looked at BBM Soundwave, and coped: the transformation, while weird, was worth it because,

“it beats the alternative. why would i collect a transformer that doesn’t transform?”

So, here I am in walmart this week, summoned by Tailgate appearances (i’m collecting minibots) and i stumble into the newly revived “collectors corner” fixture in the toy section. I couldn’t help but notice the healthy stock they had of onslaughts but, i also couldn’t take my eyes off the iridescent box dwarfing them.

“Soundwave? looks sick but…Blokees, right.”

To be fair i’ve heard great things about blokees but based on what i had seen before hand, i just thought these things were blindbox gimmicks. i had seen their classic scale toys before - they look neat, but the principle still stands:

“why would i collect a transformer that doesn’t transform?”

and sitting just above this thing was a few tailgates, freshly set. So, with the $30 USD i came with, i had a decision to make.

and I made the correct one.

Do yourself a favor and grab this if you love transformers. I am sure people may not be fans of building things and that’s fine. but if you’re huge into model kits and lego’s you are getting alot out of this figure. with a pretty underwhelming AOTP and SS wave for fall, a lot of this is going to hit clearance anyways with price hikes and poor distribution anyways. I am so glad i took this detour and will definitely be collecting ALL of blokees TFOne line, especially since the mainline versions are double the price yet underachieve.

Went on a bit of an eBay binge and decided to have a nice way to display them.

December 2025, after around 5 hours in line, I met my favorite actor, voice actor, celebrity, and overall favorite person, Peter Cullen the voice of Optimus Prime. He was my inspiration and the legend I strived to live up to. When I met him, I said what I felt about him to what I could come up with at the time, and he teared up and shook my hand. And as I left the line, his wife came to me and said Peter asked her to find me and wanted my address. We took a picture together and she went back to him. There was still so much I wanted to say to him, and I wanted to thank him for that moment. Sadly, that will never happen. He even wanted to send me stuff, but he was so busy throughout the year that he never got to it. Maybe I’ll never get that closure, but I’ll always remember that day, that moment, the impact it had on me. So farewell Mr Cullen, you’re one with the allspark now.
