What’s the best way to let the driver know I’m riding with my son, who uses a front facing car seat?
He doesn’t eat or drink in the car, so his seat is clean.
In our truck, his legs aren’t long enough to reach anything but I was thinking how I could take his shoes off once seated to avoid dirty marks if he did put his feet up?
He’s high functioning autistic and wears headphones in the car, but should I mention his diagnosis?
I’m scared of the stigma it’ll invoke and I don’t really want to have give a TedTalk on ASD kids every time.
I’ll be taking him to, and picking him up from school- would a round trip from my house to the school be better than one way there and having another ride back? It’s a very controlled and regimented drop off/pick up process because it’s a special needs school.
There won’t be more than 3 minutes of waiting (per the school, anyone taking longer than 3 minutes will be immediately told to move and their child receives a demerit. 3 demerits equals a monetary fine so everyone is motivated to keep to the schedule.) and if the weather is bad, I’ll of course end the ride and find another so no one is literally caught, waiting in a snow storm.
I’m just anxious.. I use uber to get back and forth to work and I don’t want to be the “late at the bar again lady” (I’m a closing bartender, 3am is my 5pm) or the “bus line lady” dropping my kid off.
Am I over thinking it?
