Train vs Flixbus for arriving to Padua

Upvotes

I'm landing at Milan Malpensa Airport and I want to know which option is better to come to Padua from.

For the train I'd have to go from the airport to the Milan central station and then Padua . From the ticket prices online it will also cost more than the flixbus. I also heard that there's going to be a train strike later at night on the day I arrive and I'm worried if maybe my flight gets delayed or I get delayed at immigration that I will not be able to get to Padua cause of the strike.

For Flixbus, the tickets are much cheaper and there's a direct bus to Padua. I think approximately the arrival time for both the bus and final train are similar. But I'm not familiar with Flixbus at all. Is it reliable in the sense of security and punctuality?

Has anyone used Flixbus before to reach Padua when arriving and would you recommend it over the train.

Anyone interviewed for UniPD MSc Cognitive Neuroscience and Clinical Neuropsychology? Questions & next steps

Hi everyone! Is there anyone here who has attended the admission interview for the MSc Cognitive Neuroscience and Clinical Neuropsychology at the University of Padua (UniPD)?

I’m preparing for the interview and would really appreciate some information from anyone who has already gone through the process.

I’d like to know:

  • What kind of questions are usually asked during the interview?
  • Are the questions mainly about our academic background/motivation, or do they also ask subject-specific questions related to neuroscience, neuropsychology, psychology, etc.?
  • Which topics or sections would you recommend preparing more?
  • How difficult was the interview and approximately how long did it take?
  • If you were selected, how many days after the interview did you receive the result?
  • What were the next steps after receiving the admission result?
  • Did you have to complete any additional documents or procedures after being accepted?

If anyone has recently attended the interview and is comfortable sharing their experience or even some of the questions they were asked, it would help me a lot.

Thank you in advance! 🙏

Ciao!

Come vi siete trovati? Che cosa avete fatto dopo la triennale?

Grazie!

Residenza Forcellini (women only) - experiences?

Hi everyone! 😊

I’m seriously considering staying at Residenza Forcellini (women only) because finding accommodation in Padova right now is proving so difficult 😭

I’ve seen quite a few really bad reviews on Google, but most of them seem to be quite old, so I was wondering if anyone here has stayed there recently or knows someone who has.

How is it actually living there? I’d especially love to know about:

  • cleanliness and maintenance
  • the rooms and shared facilities
  • the atmosphere / other residents
  • how responsive the staff are
  • whether there have been any major issues during your stay

I’d really appreciate any recent experiences or recommendations before I make a decision. Thank you!

[Housing] ESU Venice Accommodation (Extra Concorso) - When does the allocation usually happen based on past years?

Hi everyone,

I'm a visiting PhD student heading to Venice, and I'm currently stuck waiting for ESU accommodation. I applied for the "Domanda posto letto extra concorso" on June 25th, the very first day the system opened. It's now late August, and I haven't heard anything.

My main question is for those who have been through this process in previous years: Historically, when does ESU actually start assigning rooms to students on the "extra concorso" list?

Is it typical to wait until September or even later once the regular scholarship students are sorted? A couple of friends got emails on August 5th offering them alternative spots in Mestre because the main island was full, but I haven't even received that.

I need to decide whether to keep waiting or sign a private lease immediately. Any insights into the timeline from past years would be incredibly helpful!

Grazie in anticipo a chi risponderà.

Problem with activating my uniweb account

I've been accetped to the TeMPS programme and I tried since yesterday activating my uniweb account but an error message poped up after I procceded to the second page. I followed all the instructions correctly, so it's probably an internal problem of the platform. I've already emailed the university and I'm waiting a response. Does anyone know what happens if we don't activate our uniweb account until the deadline which is 31st of August? Could I lose my position at the programme? I've already received the admission letter and I've paid the registration fee and all. Has anyone been in a similar question? Please HELP!

Whats ur fav supermarket & bar?

Hey guys, I am moving to Padova next week for an Erasmus semester and I wanted to ask you some questions concerning everydaylife in this beautiful city.

Do you have a favourite supermarket or one you would want to recommend? (Cheaper ones are very welcome haha)

Do you have a favourite hangout spot like a bar or restaurant in the city?

And for the fellow joggers out there: do you have a nice route to recommend?

Do you know any nice hiking trails outside of the city?

Thank you very much in advance!

Padova University Regional Scholarship

I am currently filling in the regional scholarship form for padova university and they asked to provide the following information:

Translation:

In the case of private accommodation in Italy, indicate on the side the identification code of the contract shown in the receipt of registration or takeover from the Revenue Agency (in the presence of several contracts, indicate the code of the contract with a longer duration).

What does this identification code refer to?

Who is this applicable for?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Looking to connect with international students at University of Padova – Management Engineering

Hello everyone, hope you’re all doing well!

I’m an international student from India, and I’m considering pursuing a Master’s in Management Engineering at the University of Padova. I’d really like to connect with current or former international students from the program to learn more about their experience.

I’m particularly interested in knowing about:

\- The overall quality of education and faculty

\- How supportive and approachable the professors are towards international students

\- The evaluation and grading process

\- The overall experience of studying in the program as an international student

A little about my academic background: I completed my B.Tech in Biotechnology with a 7.95 CGPA, with a total of 180 credits, and I also have work experience with MNCs.

I’m still uncertain about my chances of getting admitted to the program, so any insights regarding admission chances, academic requirements, or personal experiences would be extremely helpful.

If you’re currently studying or have graduated from the Management Engineering program at UniPD, I’d really appreciate it if you could share your experience or connect with me.

Searching for Research Summer Internships as an Undergraduate

Hello everyone! I'll be starting my first year of Physics at UniPD this September.

I've been passionate about maths and physics since my first year of high school. I've participated in the Physics Olympiad, been part of my school's physics team, and have always been interested in the world of scientific research.

I'm also passionate about computer science and AI, and lately I've been seeing more and more first-year undergrads in CS or AI on YouTube talking about their summer internship experiences in big tech, finance, and similar fields. This got me wondering whether there are similar opportunities in physics, and science in general, to get involved in research early on through summer internships at universities, research institutes/labs, tech companies, etc.

I'd love to have an experience like that, including outside Italy (for example, at a European university, research institute, or company).

If you have any personal experience with this, or know of any programmes that allow first-year undergrads to get involved in research, I'd really appreciate any advice or recommendations!

I know it might seem a bit early to start thinking about next summer, but I've noticed that many internship applications open between October and January, so I thought asking for advice now would be a good idea.

Ingegneria elettronica o dell'energia
