I struggle with sh to regulate myself and since summer is coming up I have to wear short sleeved school uniform.I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations on how to cover it up.I was thinking bracelets might be good but I was wondering since it’s only on my left arm if anyone has any recommendations of what type of bracelets are usually worn since I’m super indecisive and I’d prefer smth more convenient.ive bought a few but they’re super clunky and I feel like I prefer smth less noticeable.also will ppl be able to notice?

I’ve seen a lot of posts on here about people struggling with VCE because of mental or physical health issues, so I thought I’d put together some advice that I wish more people had told me. First of all, your health problems are not due to personal failure. You’re not lazy, stupid, weak, or “bad at school” because you’re struggling to function while dealing with health problems.

VCE can be demanding even when you’re completely healthy, so if you're not, it makes it even harder. Here are some things that I find can help as a person with both mental health issues and a chronic illness:

2. Look into special considerations.

3. Don't treat rest as something you need to earn.

4. Lower the bar if you need to.

5. Get your priorities straight.

6. Break down big tasks into smaller ones.

7. Don't compare yourself to your healthy classmates.

8. Keep your teachers and other staff updated if you can.

9. Utilise your good days.

10. Have a minimum viable study routine.

11. Don't sacrifice your entire life for an ATAR.

12. Ask for help before you're at breaking point.

1. Tell someone at school e.g. year level coordinator, wellbeing team, VCE/senior year coordinator, teacher or other staff members. They can't help with problems they don't know about, but you don't have to disclose every personal detail either.

2. Look into special considerations and school based support as soon as you can. Don't wait until the last minute to ask for support so your school can let you know what VCAA support is available for your situation.

3. Don't treat rest as something you need to earn. Resting isn't procrastination. Sleep, appointments, eating and exercising well (if you're able to) or even just taking a break is all part of getting through VCE.

4. Lower the bar if you need to. If you're not coping, turn "I studied for hours and finished everything" into "I sat at my desk and submitted the important task". It's not giving up, it's adapting to the amount of energy you have.

5. Get your priorities straight. You can't always do everything, so work out what is actually worth your time and energy. Some tasks are less important than others, so if you're struggling, ask your teacher what you should prioritise.

6. Break down big tasks into smaller ones. "Study Biology" is overwhelming, while "Read 1 page" is not. Once you start, it's easier to do more.

7. Don't compare yourself to your healthy classmates. Just because someone else can study for six hours after school doesn't mean everyone can. Compare yourself to your own circumstances, not someone else's.

8. Keep your teachers and other staff updated if you can. If you disappear for two weeks and then suddenly email asking for extensions, it's much harder for everyone. Communicating early makes things considerably easier.

9. Utilise your good days. If you happen to have a day where you feel more motivated, you don't necessarily need to spend all of it catching up, but doing a little extra preparation can give you some breathing room when the bad days come back.

10. Have a minimum viable study routine. For example, on a really bad day, maybe your goal is simply to attend school, do one important task, eat something, shower, and sleep. On a better day, you can do more. Having different expectations for different levels of functioning can make things much more sustainable.

11. Don't sacrifice your entire life for an ATAR. Obviously VCE matters, but it is not worth destroying your physical or mental health over. There are pathways into university, TAFE, apprenticeships, further study, and careers that don't depend on getting one particular ATAR.

12. Ask for help before you're at breaking point. Friends, family, teachers, counsellors, psychologists, doctors and other professionals exist for a reason. You don't have to prove that you're “sick enough” to deserve support.

Most importantly, your VCE results are a description of how you performed during one particular period of your life, they aren't a measure of your intelligence, your worth, your future, or how hard you tried.

I have had the same friendgroup since yr 7 and i dont think we will necessarily last bc we've been having som drama but like who tf am i supposed to hang out with when theres no more school and i want to walk around 😁

How do you abbreviate the word specialist???! The first 4 letters are spec so that's how I feel like it should be abbreviated, but the sound is the sh sound so that's why they do spesh. But that looks so wrong. It looks so ugly spelling it like that. That literally connotes speshialist. It should be spec. Or am I crazy??

we finished the content/sacs and now we just do past exams every lesson but i am so lost in tech free because this whole time i neglected CAS free maths since the SACs were using the CAS

do i just do super old exam questions to help my calculation skills, textbook or just do the normal exams?

but i also wanna prioritise exam 2 as well cause apparently its harder

As the title says

I am in year 10 and have a crafting texts cat on transitions next monday, the essay I picked was argumentative ted talk on neurological disorders because I have one. But we had a practice cat yesterday and the title was changing tides and I just didnt know what to write about at all and wrote 2 paragraphs in the 90 minutes and scribbled out atlest 5 paragraphs that I thought where not good enough and I just want to try me best across this week to just improve it. Any tips?

sac scores lowkey been mid

So my sac scores right now for most of my subjects are not looking super good (50-60s mostly, but some 40s) if my rank is low but I do well in my end of year exams can that help? I need. 82 for my course and I’m really scared bc my rank os also not that good (I’m just assuming with what the average sac scores are and my performance) so can my exam REALLY help or have my sac scores impacted it? I’m also saying this bc I don’t think my cohort is a strong one 😭😭

For context, I’m rank 3 but only like 3 percent on total average for the year behind rank 1. Am I actually at that much of a disadvantage, cos I keep hearing that I’ll get the exam score of the 3rd best exam as my sacs which could be pretty bad and doesn’t sound very fair to me considering I’m not behind by that much. Study score calcs say I’m like automatically 2 points down on study score by this ranking but is this really true

I do French online through Vsl and I’ve gotten ok not great marks on sacs (37/50u3 and 13/15u4 so far(marks for sac2 tbc, sac3 next week), but my sac3 is like a 4 min version of the discussion topic of my oral exam. I have chosen: The influence French colonialism had on Vietnamese food culture (my teacher told me to go niche 🫠) and I’m really stressed about it. I have been sick for a bit with a lung infection and I haven’t been able to properly research my topic thoroughly. I am wondering if you have any tips or tricks for me to research the right material and if I should write out my whole discussion, I don’t really know how it works. Thanks so much, I’m not trying to shoot for the stars in French but a 29+ raw is my goal. My actual oral is 13th oct btw, but I have mocks on the 15th and 20th and another in the holidays

I am currently in year 11 doing methods 1/2. I find the school test and content relatively easy because I did an accelerated math program in year 11 so i've already learnt the content.

How do I get better at tackling difficult questions/ find difficult 1/2 questions because i want to build these skills to solve seperators/hard questions next year.

OR should I prelearn 3/4 content to get ahead.

Hi guys, do you have any tips on how to make your responses more natural because I dont want to make it sound too memorised or does it not matter that much.

And how is everyone going in their GC and cutral study.

I’m not sure about other schools but at mine we do 6 subjects in year 11 then drop to 5 in year 12. One of the subjects i am currently doing is health and human development and i hate it so much. I know for sure that i will drop it next year when we drop to 5 subjects.

I am wondering if it matters if i actually drop it now (term 3 of year 11) since HHD wouldn’t contribute to anything anyway if i know i am not doing it next year. I know it couldn’t affect my ATAR because that is based on only unit 3 and 4 subjects but im just curious if it affects any other aspect or if there are any other benefits of continuing a unit 2 subject all the way through just to drop it before unit 3 because i want to do really well and get into a good university.

Also, im sure this depends on the specific school but i was wondering if there was anything specific i need to be permitted a reduced study load.

I’m not really sure why my school chose this book, especially because it’s surprisingly difficult to find detailed analysis and resources about it online. I suppose that’s a bit of a double-edged sword, it makes the text more challenging to study independently, but at the same time, it means there’s probably more room for us to develop our own interpretations rather than relying too heavily on existing analyses.
I was wondering if anyone else is studying it and would be interested in sharing ideas, interpretations, useful resources, or general information about the text. It would be great to hear how other people are approaching it.

Im doing genny just got result for final sac and my teacher said that my coursework grade is 97%. Sadly my school doesn’t reveal sac ranking but I presume im ranked decently high (hopefully). 4 people have 100% avg in a cohort of 150 students roughly, and im in a decently high ranked priv school.

What study score do you think I could get and what exam marks would deliver that?
