The WW1 series (Verdun, Tannenberg, Isonzo and as of two days ago, Gallipoli) are pretty accurate for weapon effects. A single heavy machine gun is perfectly capable of killing huge amounts of infantry if it's in a good spot, and is only limited by ammunition. Revolvers also pack a punch, but genuinely take 15+ seconds to reload.
In fact, all the weapons in that series are pretty spot on, and almost all of them will kill in one hit.
Isonzo still has 2 or 3 full lobbies almost all the time. Or it did, now Gallipoli is out, people might have migrated. That one is definitely full every time I've booted it.

IMO pistols are overpowered in most games. They should be a backup weapon when your main gun is out of bullets, not your first choice.
