I hate how many of their guns are single shot, low capacity magazine, low damage weapons. Like this is a hoard game and we get a primary weapon that kills a basic unit in 2-3 hits and has a 12 shot magazine (like the new 40k las gun).

What kind of gun would you like to use in that game?

One that doesn't use 1/4th of the magazine to kill a generic low tier enemy

Odst guns are so bad for it, yet I still find them as some of the funnest, especially the shotgun

The ODST shotgun got taken out back by the SuperStore Bayonet Trench gun and Old Yeller'd into uselessness

πŸ˜‚it was always pretty useless tbf, their choice for armour pen makes no sense for a lot of things

It makes a bit more sense of you think about the different armour values as:

  • 0 unprotected
  • 1 light body armour. (Light 1)
  • 2 heavy body armour . (Light2)
  • 3 armoured car. (Medium 1)
  • 4 armoured truck. (Medium 2)
  • 5 light tank. (Heavy 1)

The way HDII categorises it into light, medium, heavy makes sense for looking at the whole scale, but severely de-emphasizes how strong the armour is on the human scale.

Put a person in armour next to say... Battleship Iowa. In that comparison, you're always going to say that the body armour is weak, no matter how much they are wearing.

I remember people freaking out about the 600 damage pershot but it changes no breakpoints on any enemy and you get less ammo.

It does matter at a little bit of range, with the spread of shotguns.

The odst warbond was the only one I bought and I played with the new guns for like 2 missions and went "these suck ass"
