Helldivers 2 single-handedly has the worst balancing in any game ever. I will die on that hill.

Why die on that hill when you could call in a sentry?

Sentry on a hill? 60% chance it would just bounce off and land somewhere awful

100% chance. It will always bounce off

Have you still not learned to stick your stratagem throws?

I had stratagems bounce on flat ground and stick to me.

Have you even played the game?

Yes. I was there at release. And it didn't take me long to figure out how to spike the stratagems.

No? You can’t place stratagems anywhere up high or on terrain that isn’t perfectly zeroed to 90 degrees

This is because the devs loathe the player and any way they could gain any sort of advantage over AI enemies

Like that’s INTENTIONAL that stratagem balls bounce any time you’re trying to deploy them on high ground

They changed it. On release it was way less bouncy and would stick sort of wherever. Now if it’s terrain the devs don’t want you to put it on (anywhere high up despite enemies now being able to go through the ground half the time anyway and just about every other spot you want to throw it) it’ll bounce until it ends up somewhere completely useless

"It can be mitigated with skill" doesnt mean its not an issue or bad game design. It also doesnt make you look like a respectable human being when you phrase it with an insult
