Patch installer cannot find .exe file

Hello! I've been trying to install the unofficial patch for a lil bit now, but every single time it always say that it's unable to find the .exe file. I'm running Linux, specifically CachyOS. I've been following the steam guide on how to install it but now I'm stuck at this roadblock. Any help?

Literally just had this exact problem recently and ended up using Protontricks.

Yes, this is the guide I was using. I'm reinstalling protontricks to see if thatll fix it

Edit: Still not working.

Yeah I can literally not get it to work. I've been using the same exact guide and it still won't find it.

Did you leave the patch installer exe in Downloads? Is that the exe you can't find?

Or are you unable to find the vtmb exe from running the patch?

Nono, I'm able to run the patch installer but the issue is that it's struggling to find vampire.exe to actually install the patch.

Okay, so in Step 6 the screenshot shows that his game is located in the Z drive. You have to navigate to drive Z (not C) and then open this folder chain:

  • home

-- (your username)

--- .steam

---- steam

----- steamapps

------ common

------- Vampire The Masquerade - Bloodlines

Excellent. You're welcome.

The guide is actually clear on this, but I definitely missed it the first time around like you did. It says "Use the browse button to navigate to the location of your "Game Install" folder you found in the preparation stage, then continue" and step 2 of Preparation outlines the process of finding the game install path on Linux.

Yeah, it worked for me just now in that it attempted to move to the next step of the patch process after I pointed it to that folder. Hopefully you will succeed.
