Discussion Thoughts on Photobooth Timing?

Hi all! It's close to our wedding date and my partner and I are spiraling about when to book a 4-hour photobooth window. We're planning to have guests take a photo at the booth and attach it to the guestbook w/ an attendant's help.

This is our tentative schedule. Please give us some guidance about how to slot in the guestbook + photobooth idea!

5:00PM Guests arrive
5:30PM Ceremony
6:00PM Cocktail hour
7:00PM Dinner at toasts
9:00PM Cake cutting
9:30/10PM: Dancing

Is the ceremony in the same space as the reception? If you want it to be part of the guest book you'll want it running as guests arrive

Yes, same space! It feels a little wasteful to have them there when the ceremony is going, but we might not be able to avoid it...

So far we have 3 responses suggesting 3, which is validating our struggle 😭

People sign the guest book as they arrive. That's the kicker. I think you will struggle to get people to use it for the guest book outside of their arrival. If you change your plans for the photo booth to not include the guest book then you can do it whenever you like, but that is the sticking point

I think this is probably what we'll end up doing... we were worried about it overlapping with our other plans, but this is definitely an aspect we wanted to prioritize. Thank you <3

6-10 PM. Will guests also get to take away a copy of the photos? Or get a digital copy?

Thank you for responding! The attendant was told to make 2 copies of each photo, so guests can take one home. Will also be available for digital download :)

I would have it from around 8ish. People tend to use it after a few drinks I think.

I figure that's when we'll see the greatest use too, just wondering if it's weird to bring out the guestbook that late into the day (otherwise people would sign it without adding photos, and I worry they wouldn't come back)!

Closer to the end of the night, some people will do it no matter what... others will need a few drinks before they will do it.

I worked (briefly) as a photobooth attendant at a wedding venue & my shift was always towards the end of the night after dinner was served.
