Hoping these aren't termites! Had trouble getting my phone to get them all in focus but you can see the true number of them that were airborne at the 1 minute mark of the video.

Approx 1-1.5" long? Normal-sized smaller ants accompanying them. Really surprised that the whole area & sky was empty less than an hour later. Bats would have had a good time tonight if these guys were still zipping around.

I've never seen this before and couldnt find anything similar on Google! At first I thought it was just the rain droplets on its back making the patterns look warped, but no those are the actual patterns it has! Sorry I couldn't keep the camera still with how much I had to zoom in. I'll put some still pictures in the comments (would've put the pics in the post itself but then i wouldn't have been able to include the video). Is this rare??? Regardless, its absolutely beautiful!!!

You'd think that in a species that has a LARGE variety of patterns (all of which consisting of symmetrical spots, splotches, or no patterns) that if there had been one species found that has irregular _lines_ and splotches, that would be pretty easy to find as online. Like if this has been seen before, you'd think it would have gone viral for being so unique, and yet I cant find anything similar anywhere online. Like imagine someone found a rosy maple moth with spots instead of lines, that'd likely go viral and you could easily search "rosy maple moth with spots" and immediately get results (not a perfect analogy but hopefully u get my point).

Never seen any grasshoppers in the area that look like this. It was about the size of my thumb.

Spotted this guy hanging out with my dog Lumi. Lumi was unfazed.

Spider retreated slightly, but very quickly, when I approached it with a glass, but didn’t really move otherwise when I scooped it up to put it outside. Approx. 2.5 in diameter. Wooded rural area south of Ann Arbor MI.

The reason for identification is due to a massive swarm of them outside on our cars - this hill is right by our garage. Anything helps. Upstate New York for reference !

An absolute swarm of these guys just blew past the patio where I'm staying this week. I'm very near the ocean on the East End of Long Island. This guy stopped and wiggled around until his wings eventually fell off. Now he might be dead, but the rest of the swarm moved right on. I'm from near here and I don't remember ever seeing these before.

Hi All! I woke up this morning and found this on the trim inside our house. The eggs were not wet, but we used a wet paper towel to try to get them off. There’s a film of gray fuzz underneath it.

Live in US NorthEast urban area.

Seeing flying insects mostly hovering around windows and not just a few all of a sudden. This pic is after spraying non toxic bug spray that messes with nervous system.

Of note, seen house flies in recent days so uncertain if related.

Not good with cell phone pics but hope closeup is good enough. Since photo of alive specimen proved too difficult.

i assume he's a grasshopper because he was all by his lonesome, but.. i've never seen one with these markings/colouration! to be fair though, i don't see many grasshoppers up close anyway lol! im not finding any images online of ones that look like a mix of the two like this! thank you to anyone who knows :)

it is about 2-3 inches long, have a hard shell, seems to have only 6 legs and then the rest of the body just follows behind. flat black head and amberish body. crawling around in between the stones of a walkway, any idea what it could be?

Found the little guy eating one of my succulents. He’s been eating spinach. The picture on the left is him now, the picture on the right is him when I first found him. I’m in East Texas if that helps!
