Contextposting:
According to a legend, Gelert was the dog of prince Lywelyn the great.
One day he came back to his house and found Gelert with a bloody mouth, so the prince thought the dog killed his baby and went on to kill Gelert.
However, he then found the baby safe and the body of a dead wolf nearby, meaning Gelert protected the baby from being eaten and was killed by mistake.

In the 12th or 13th century the Medieval Welsh ruler Llywelyn ab Iorwerth returns from hunting to find his baby missing, the cradle overturned, and Gelert with a blood-smeared mouth. Believing the dog had attacked the child, Llywelyn draws his sword and kills Gelert. After the dog's dying yelp, Llywelyn hears the cries of his baby, unharmed under the cradle, along with a dead wolf that had been killed by Gelert protecting the child. Llywelyn is overcome with remorse and buries the dog with great ceremony (which supposedly led to the town's name) but can still hear its dying yelp. After that day, Llywelyn never smiles again. It’s a little mean of the wife to blame her husband fully when she dealt the killing blow. Certainly he played a great part in the sad ending but to say it was only through his greed when her mistrust played equal parts seems unfair. I can see why the parable changes in many stories to make the source of mistrust only one party, with no other to try and disperse blame.

Cake with 1.5 cups of salt? That sounds nasty. On the real though, do I sound that much like a bot? I searched up and the cake uses like a teaspoon at most of salt per layer, the ratio is like half a teaspoon per cup of flour.

according to wikipedia, he found the dog next to the broken cradle of his baby and didn't hear the child crying from underneath it until after he had killed the dog

For people who are too lazy to look it up, Gelert was a hound who saved his masters baby from a wolf, but when his master came home he found a turned over cradle, no baby in sight, and a dog covered in blood. So his master killed the dog thinking he killed the baby then realized the dog protected the baby from a wolf
