Question Is it just me or youtube ads are getting worse?
Usually i just did the trick where if you change the video before the ad starts then back to the previous video again, the ad automatically skips. Now it's almost like no matter what you do, the ad always plays, you can no longer use the quick video change trick.
If you change or close video then back at it again, the ad only restarts and there is no way that you can trick it, you must watch the ad

Question I'm not crazy, right? My Yt algorithm has been cooked ever since 2024, it just kept getting worse and worse - everytime I watch a video or just an old video I've watched back in the day, keeps getting recommend over and over again, even with countless refreshs. Like I have over hundreds of channel i

Discussion Has anyone else been getting exclusively political ads lately?
The past 3 days *every single* ad I’ve gotten has been related to politics.

Question Is YouTube live chat down for anyone else right now?
Can't see anyone else's messages, and anything I send doesn't work either

Question What’s with ads lately
Has anyone else noticed an insane increase in ads lately to point where it’s borderline unwatchable? I’m talking every two minutes, maybe it’s just the creators I’m watching but even then I didn’t think youtube allowed that many midrolls per video.

Question They patch it?
Previously, if you got an ad upon entering a video you can simply just exit the video and re-enter it to skip the ads completely over 3 tries at most and saves less than 5 seconds which is faster than just skipping the video as normal.
But now, the same method is impossible to replicate, did they patch it?

UI Change The way YouTube snuck in a save button so everytime you check the comments from muscle memory you save it instead

Question Have any of you seen more ads lately?
Ik YouTube does seem to increase the number of ads you watch but this is next level. I have gotten 3 ad breaks(6 ads in total) 4 minutes into the video. This is just sad and it isn't even letting me watch the video properly.

Question Anyone know channels that post short stories that aren't AI
Basically I've been watching videos on Gold Novel, Best Novel, Sapphire Novel etc but they're all basically just AI stories and ai narrators. (And my recommendations are completely destroyed too so it's just an infinite loop)
Don't really mind the ai narrators cuz I like watching Chinese short dramas on YouTube and most of those are terribly ai narrated too.
However, these ai stories all kind of suck. Especially when the premise is interesting and the longer you watch,
Slowly but surely,
You realize... it's AI,
With a certainty you can feel in your bones.
The only bright side of listening to that brain poison is that I've gotten really good at identifying AI writing in other things.
But I still like listening to trashy stories... I just want to listen to authentic trashy stories. So if anyone has any recs I would appreciate it.
The odd thing is they never play ads, so I'm guessing posting so many AI stories was profitable at one point but they all got demonitized. Because of course, Google doesn't want to be anyone's free money glitch

Question is this even allowed??
im genuinely curious at what the rules around youtube ads are, i saw like a spreadsheet for it a couple months ago but i can’t remember what was in it.
i was about two minutes in watching a video that’s approximately 40 minutes long, and i get two ads, the first being a kid playing minecraft for AN HOUR!?! wtf
