I feel its a violation of privacy like what the heck. Youtube is going too far by doing that. Before someone says just get premium I can't afford it atm since it's 16 bucks and I'm broke.

giant thumbnails, weird logo next to viewcount, huge gap where it says undo between the 2nd row and 3rd row of youtube videos..

NeverKnowsBest posted a 6 hour documentary on GamerGate about 6 days ago. Most people would see this runtime and skip, but honestly, you can think of it as a 6 episode mini-series with better research than your average Netflix true crime.
The documentary is an amazing work of historical backtracking and source gathering. NKB stays largely politically neutral, although does open with a disclaimer that they are more leftist. The themes explored are way bigger than GamerGate, or internet drama, or even online harassment.
If you question why major outlets might refer to the Israel/Palestine conflict as a "war" when only one side has a standing army or why major outlets made fun of the "coffee is hot" woman for getting 3rd degree burns at McDonald's, this is the documentary for you. The media landscape is it's own beast and this is the documentary on how one small piece of it played out.
If you are a gamer though, Sony saying you don't own the things you buy is awful for consumers.. so kind of interesting that major media outlets spent a long time saying "gamers" are not a consumer voice whose complaints you should take seriously..

Not only does YT now lie to creators about their view counts and their top views videos, but they seem to have gotten rid of the option to turn off Playback in settings on some phones(seems to actually be a majority of phones in general).
Apparently there are Engaged views, and unengaged views or something of that sort. Engaged views are as you'd expect, someone clicked on a video to watch it, and are giving that video their view and attention. But now, they have unengaged views, which don't pay the creator, and yet still are counted towards views. An unengaged view is when you're scrolling past a video, and without clicking on it, YT plays a small preview of the video.
So technically YouTube is inflating views on videos. And you can't blame the creators this time, since it's not people buying views, it's literally views counted for people SCROLLING PAST a video, not actually taking the time(even a second) to click on it and watch it.
And why is this important to know? Because lets say you're looking for a Creators Top 3 most viewed video, instead of finding their actual most VIEWED video, you'll get an inflated number of more than 35-60% of their actual clicked on views. Which is just a blatant lie.
So to fight back against this, try to find the Turn off Playback in feed settings, not just the regular Playback setting, it has to be the one that says "in feed".
Thank you for your time, and f*ck YT.

I remember when it used to cool to hate of Mr Beast but ever since Dogpack404, it's not the same.
Mind you, I'm not fan of his.
People coming up with literally anything to hate on him and it's just tiring.
Yes I'm not a massive fan of his content, I haven't watched him in years. Yes the Mr Beastification of YT is annoying (even though it's not his fault), and yes the Lunchy situation was diabolical but like it comes to a point where it's too much.
Some of guys are wayy to petty. Like we get, you don't like him but stop with hunting for any crumbs to hate him.
The Mr Lean situation is probably the best example. Is it a bad song? Yes, but it was clear it was never a serious attempt on music. Just people having fun. Unlike KSI which made a very serious attempt at music and took it very seriously, and the song was trash.
So in Mr Beast annoying, maybe but I'm also tired of the hate.

As the title said, they lied. The claim they made was that existing partners would not be impacted by the changes put forth with the recent updates to the partner program. ITS COMPLETELY FALSE. I started my channel through lives and I can no longer go live anymore and my monetization is all greyed out. they completely lied when they said existing users wouldnt face problems. Im just trying to spread the word, so if anyone tries to come back and stream again as a small channel, you wont be able to.

so you made a account with ur propse being “u hate wavywrld” but make the same content as them?
but then get mad when ppl call them a bot when ur whole Chanel is based on hating Wavywrld when wavywlrd is a bot channel
but i lwkey don’t believe it
can anyone confirm if they actually are a bot or not?

In online college. My professor needs us to watch a Youtube video and write an essay by this Friday. I emailed them telling them I cant access the video but they ignored it and I have no way of getting access to the video. I have the link, I tried looking it up on wayback and archive but it wasn't saved. I don't even have the title of the video, they just go "watch this video: (link)" and thats it. Super frustrating and Im losing it.
Is there ANY way to access a removed video if I still have the link?? Its saying the video was taken down for copyright.

Has anyone else noticed an insane increase in ads lately to point where it’s borderline unwatchable? I’m talking every two minutes, maybe it’s just the creators I’m watching but even then I didn’t think youtube allowed that many midrolls per video.

The title literally says "Please give me the title you want me to translate".
And it is not a translation of the original title because the original title is something like "how high guard lost 200M" but I had no way to know this until I checked the video in the history because YT auto translated it without asking me and couldn't find an option to show the original.
Every day I hate more the auto translate feature.

Is there any way for me to restrict myself to watch 18+ videos? I don't like clicking on them and wish I'd get a warning

I’m not always on it but I watch a few people on here. With life’s it’s been awhile but I went to catch up and now some videos are locked behind membership fees? wtf is this? More companies jumping on the monetization wagon? Locking content behind paywalls or is this a channel thing? So they are locking certain videos (newer ones it seems) behind paywalls? It could be the drinks in me but this is freaking lame!!! Everything is wanting you to pay for shit nowadays!!!!! Like Amazon young ad free charges and what not or crunch roll or everything else….. Jesus

Usually i just did the trick where if you change the video before the ad starts then back to the previous video again, the ad automatically skips. Now it's almost like no matter what you do, the ad always plays, you can no longer use the quick video change trick.
If you change or close video then back at it again, the ad only restarts and there is no way that you can trick it, you must watch the ad

I genuinely need help with this its been driving me insane, every single morning without fail i for some reason wake up to a markiplier live stream that he's done. I havent watched a single thing from markiplier apart from when he released iron lung and videos from about 8 years ago, now ive unsubbed, and cant stand seeing him at all because youtube auto play thinks i want to wake up to fnaf/markiplier every morning even if i've fallen asleep to rain sounds.
Please someone tell me they have figured out a way to remove accounts from auto play or SOMETHING, i honestly cant stand it anymore i just want to have a normal sleep and morning.

Mark Adams and Nutshell Animations were Youtubers that used to watch all the time especially in 2022 and 2023 but as of this year, I’m starting to not like them too much. I don’t like how the video quality starts to show less effort putting into the videos when their videos used to be funny and the jokes were pretty fine but now the are being old, reused, or not funny, and also they love to spam these catchphrases Mark Adams love spamming “ oh great heavens” of FAHH and nutshell animations is the “GET OUT” meme. The fans seem to like the videos, but for the original fans, they’re becoming old and not really funny. An honorable mention I like to give out is Luke Davison, who kinda have the same tactics of these two Youtubers using old memes or jokes, but hes not as annoying.
