Mines Genkais Death and another one is when the gang charges Sensui trying to avenge Yusuke after he partially dies

I loved it a lot although the final arc was a bit worse than the others, although I think the final 3 episodes were great. Also the animation and soundtrack were top tier.

I think my arc ranking would be this:

1) Dark Tournament

2) (By a VERY thin margin) Chapter Black

3) Spirit Detective.

4) Three Demon Kings

How we feeling about the 2nd season of the live action in the works.

I watched YuYu a long time ago, and I'm rewatching a bit of stuff to remember now. I think the way the last matches between the Toguro and Yusuke team were not handled very well, as well as the aftermath, and could be mutually written differently to be better. See, Genkai being revived seems like Togashi not being able to compromise with a plot relevant choice, and at the same time Kurama not dying in his fight seems weird as well looking how dmaged he was. I think it'd be better if they had a plan to revive Genkai, but had to scrap it if Kurama died in his fight and had to give up their wish to revive him instead. Would be bittersweet ending to the arch and a tough choice to the group that would also mark their maturing.

I’m empty inside. I loved it, 10/10. Just wish it was longer and I had more time with all of the characters. I miss them 😭 I was worried the final arc would ruin the show because I heard bad things, but I really enjoyed it honestly. It probably could’ve used a few more episodes, but I’m just glad it actually has an ending unlike most anime. And a really good ending too. Jumping into Bleach for the first time soon. Hopefully it can live up to even half of how Yu Yu Hakusho made me feel.

It’s been fun, I do like the soundtrack and the characters, and the humor was cool. Some of the stories were a little eh for me, but overall I’m having a good time. I heard Dark Tournament is peak, so how peak is it exactly? Cause I’m having fun, but I’m not watching it much. It’s been fun, but the title “absolute classic” hasn’t hit me yet, and I believe it’s gonna be in this arc that it happens

Asking because not too many people talk about this dub (mostly bc the show itself is quite niche on this part of the world) and the few opinions I find about the latín spanish dub are either love it or hate it, no inbetween, ans thus I want to know what the hispanic people here think about it. My personal opinion is that I think that while some characters and scenes are definitely better dubbed than others, the dubbing of the series is more or less serviceable. Besides, some actors improve as the episodes progress, such as Mauricio Valverde as Yusuke himself. Obviously i'm asking those who watched it

I know this is probably very controversial, but I honestly think it has been the worst arc of the series. I really liked the first few fights in the arc, but it became very repetitive especially knowing the capabilities of the main cast. Just felt insanely repetitive and predictable.

The Yusuke vs Toguro fight was also quite predictable and felt... pointless.

Tournament arcs in Dragon Ball and Naruto are both vastly superior imo.

With that said I really did love the first arcs of YYH, but I find the current pacing too slow, cast too big, villains were poor, fights being bad, designs lacking, plot being random/predictable etc..

Arguably the best song out of the 2 soundtracks that were released 🔥🔥🔥

The start of Chapter Black to the retrieval of Yusuke has been my all-time favorite before bed watch.

The combination of artwork, mystery, introduction of Territories, and uncertainty .. does something for my brain.

I’m not sure if it’s just me, but this run was so underrated!

EDIT: I HIGHLY recommend you play this in the background if you’re in bed and unsure of what to watch. It’s an experience!

What really prompted this question is how often Yusuke and those before him essentially had to take up missions at any time that would require at least some type of compensation to keep motivated and continue doing missions.

Maybe this is obvious to everyone else, but the more I think about it, the more JJK’s Domain Expansion feels like a modern evolution of the Territories from Yu Yu Hakusho.

Not saying Gege “copied” Togashi. They’re obviously not the exact same thing and they work differently.

But the basic idea is VERY similar: you enter someone’s space, and suddenly you’re playing by their rules.

And honestly, Territories were one of the coolest ideas YYH introduced.

During Chapter Black, fights suddenly weren’t just about who had more spirit energy or who could punch harder. Someone could create a Territory with a specific ability and you had to actually understand the rules of that space to beat them.

It feels like you can already see Togashi moving toward what he would eventually do with Hunter x Hunter.

YYH starts playing around with Territories and weird rule-based abilities.

Then HxH comes along and Togashi basically goes insane with the concept: Nen conditions, restrictions, vows, incredibly specific abilities, fights that sometimes feel more like solving a puzzle than a traditional shonen battle.

And then there’s JJK.

To me, Domain Expansion feels almost like someone took that original Territory idea and said:

“Okay, but what if this wasn’t just a cool concept for one arc? What if we made it one of the central mechanics of the entire power system?”

And that’s probably the one area where I genuinely think JJK got to do something YYH never really had the chance to do.

Domains are spectacular, personal, tied to the user’s technique, and important enough that understanding how Domains interact with each other becomes a whole part of the combat system.

Meanwhile YYH introduced Territories, showed us how interesting they could be… and then never really got the opportunity to take the idea much further.

And that’s kind of a shame.

Because Togashi obviously had WAY more ideas in that direction. We know that because he basically dedicated himself to Hunter x Hunter afterward and turned rule-based powers into an art form. Unfortunately, we also know how that turned out in terms of actually finishing the damn thing.

Sometimes I wonder what YYH would have looked like if Togashi had kept going and expanded on Territories instead.

And just to make this absolutely clear before someone misunderstands me: I am NOT saying JJK is better than Yu Yu Hakusho.

I actually prefer YYH.

I’m talking specifically about this one concept.

JJK simply had the time and structure to take the whole “my space, my rules” idea much further than YYH did.

So I don’t really see Domain Expansion as a ripoff of Territories. I see it more as their spiritual successor: the same basic idea, decades later, expanded into something much bigger and more important to the power system.

And considering what Togashi later did with Nen, I really wish we could have seen what Territories would have become if he had decided to fully develop them in YYH.

TL;DR: YYH’s Territories already had the basic “enter my space, play by my rules” concept decades before JJK. Togashi later went much deeper into rule-based powers with Nen in HxH. To me, Domain Expansion feels like a spiritual successor to Territories — not a copy, but JJK taking a concept YYH introduced and getting the chance to fully build a combat system around it. And no, I’m not saying JJK > YYH. Please put the pitchfork down. Yuyu and hxh are my fav of all time

After all these years, it seems like people have forgotten about them, which is a shame; they’re a good length for the series and work well as something to watch after the anime ends
