I know, I know. Can't really compare the two when it comes to driving style. My qualms with the type S are worrying about longevity, air suspension, transmission issues, those self sealing tires in the snow/having to swap snow tires.

The A spec Advance is more in my price range. Probably will have less maintenance issues, but it's much slower.

2021 TLX A-Spec AWD

I drive the car in manual mode almost exclusively (except for highway backups). I find that I can react faster than the transmission to hills and prevent the engine from lugging and lighting up the turbo. For those that are curious, here are my gears for steady-state speeds (on flat terrain):

1st: (never, car auto shifts to 2nd at 5 mph)
2nd: 5-12 mph
3rd: 13-19 mph
4th: 20-25 mph
5th: 26-31 mph
6th: 32-39 mph
7th: 40-49 mph
8th: 50-57 mph
9th: 58-64 mph
10th: 65+ mph

I personally think they could’ve taken away 1st and 9th gear, but to those who want to drive their car in manual mode (with the 10-speed), here is a guide to my speeds haha.

I’m new to Acura and my car hisses like crazy when building boost almost like it’s leaking. No engine light or anything. When I roll down my window I can hear it still going like 80 mph. All of this only under load, the place I bought it from says it’s normal but I have driven turbo cars before and have never heard it this loud. It’s still under warranty I believe so I was thinking about taking it in, am I being paranoid?

I’m very glad to have joined the Acura club. Before this I drove a 20’ accord 2.0T. The Accord was so fun, as it was like a goat cart. The Accord was a really good car honestly but was given too good of a deal for a 25’ TLX Type S and I’m beyond over the moon with how fun and good of a car this has been. This car is criminally under rated in my opinion as you never see these on the road either.

I’ve been an Acura RLX owner (2014) for just over four months now, and I wanted to share my experience so far and get some perspective from other older model Acura/RLX owners.

In that short window, I’ve invested close to $6,000 in repairs and maintenance, which has included:

• Replacing both upper control arms
• Fixing a leaking valve cover gasket
• New battery
• New spark plugs
• Transmission drain & refill
• Brake fluid service
• And most recently, being advised that the catalytic converter now needs to be replaced

All in, we’re sitting at roughly $5,500–$6,000 in maintenance/repairs over four months of ownership. The car drives well overall and I enjoy it, but at this point I’m struggling with the ROI. I chose the RLX over the LS460 at the time because of the rare sightings of the model on the road. This is the first purchase I made where I am starting to second guess the choice. It feels like every month brings another major repair, and I’m trying to figure out whether this is normal for high‑mileage RLXs or if I just ended up with a rough example.

For those who’ve owned an older model (10+ years) Acura and/or RLX long‑term:

• Is this level of maintenance typical once these cars get past 150k miles?
• Did things stabilize for you after the initial catch‑up maintenance, or did the repairs continue?
• Would you stick it out, or cut losses and move into something more predictable?

Tomorrow i plan to pickup a 2026 White Integra A-Spec Tech with Orchid white and blue seats (6 speed manual). Is there anything i need to know? How does everyone like there’s? Haven’t heard much bad about these cars.

I am on the market for a 2026 Acura Rdx W/Advance Package. I see the prices are around 54k - 56k.

I’m ready for my next Acura and I want an RDX but I’d also love a hybrid. I don’t NEED a new car right now but I would like more space for a rear facing car seat. Do we think the hybrid will really be out late next year? I’m also looking at the MDX potentially but don’t really need the extra row. I had a 2007 TL for 10 years and a 2018 TLX for 9 years and I really want to stick with Acura

I own a 2015 ILX but the AC isn’t functioning well and I am debating on just buying a new car. I test drove a 2025 Integra and enjoy it but I am not sure if it’s a downgrade or upgrade…

2025 Acura TLX Type S 1,500 miles

Hello,

Anyone else experience vibration with a lot of noise when in Sport or Sport + mode when the RPM rev higher? The noise gets worse with more vibrations. The noise appears to resonate from the center console more towards the front where the gear selection is. Sounds like something may not have been fastened tightly...

I drove the car mostly in Comfort mode for the first 1,300 miles and didn't have any noise.

There's no issue in Comfort or Normal modes.

I don't want to bring this to the dealer to have them poke and prod it. Just hoping someone had a similar experience and how they resolved it. I'll live with it until I'm comfortable ripping apart the console. I need to install the Acura CF trim someday anyways.

I just recently bought a 2006 Acura MDX, no navigation just the Bose system with a CD changer. Obviously no CarPlay or Bluetooth or anything, so I purchased one of those Wireless Carplay, 4K Dash Cam screens off of Amazon for 100 bucks. It's got CarPlay and a back up cam, exactly what I need and I didn't have to pay $500+ for a new head unit and installation. Unfortunately the only way I can get it to play through the cars speakers is through and the FM modulator and I frickin hate it. The station cuts in and out depending on what part of town I'm in, the audio sounds muddy. Not happy with the way it sounds at all, so I want to try to figure out a way to connect it via Bluetooth. But after doing some Google searches it looks like the best option back in the day was to purchase a USA.SPEC BT45-HON3 adapter which apparently is no longer made. So does anyone have any other ideas or solutions on how to add Bluetooth to my stock system. And just to clarify again, it's got the Bose system with the CD changer/Aux button, it also has XM (which i don't use) and this one did not come with navigation. Any help is much appreciated. I REALLY want a 24 TLX A Spec. Is it worth it? Does it have the transfer case issues? If you have one, how do you like it??? I need some brutal honesty here

I don't know too much about cars, my expertise ends with oil, battery, and tire changes, please go easy on me. My 2010 Acura TL suddenly set off it's emergency horn, I used unlock on key fob to turn it off successfully. Then, when I went out to check on it, my key fob and lock/unlock buttons in car aren't working, bluetooth is on while the car is off, there is a constant quiet clicking when the car is off w doors closed, and a louder, harsher constant clicking when the doors are open. Otherwise, I am still able to turn the ignition and start the engine like normal. I've disconnected the battery because that was the only thing I could think of to stop it immediately. Simply put I couldn't find anything online relating to my issues outside of the bluetooth not turn off with the car, so I'd really appreciate any insight possible.

I don’t have the budget for a tlx

I forget to turn off idle stop just often enough to be annoyed by it. Looking at getting an Idlestopper device for my Integra. Anybody have experience with these, either good or bad? Installation seems pretty simple, but I don't want to take any chances on frying anything electrical.

Have a 2008 Acura rdx. 200k miles on it. Drives great but have a newer car that I use more regularly now. Only put 1-2k miles on it annually now.

How often should I be taking it in for service/oil changes? Won’t hit the 5-6k miles for a long time? It’s synthetic oil but just revert to every 6 months? 12 months? I presume the oil/fluids go bad based on time (irrespective of miles).

My 2017 Acura RDX (39,000 miles) brakes squeal under light pressure, regardless of how much I've driven the car. This problem started happening a year ago. I've already changed the brake pads and shims. I've lubed up all the moving parts, yet this still happens. Please see attached video. Looking for advice on how I can fix this.

So i just got this car, basically new it needed some love to it, specially cosmetics, but when I purchased the car the light for the vsa and check engine light came on. The code was p0341. Now o understand this is a timing chain tensioner failure or stretched timing chain or even the actuator but how long can I drive this car before this thing slips and grenades itself, its a 2010 acura tsx this light came on 3 weeks ago but was hardly ever driven. The oil is fine on the car and it runs fine. The only noise it makes is that slight raddle from the vtc actuator when I start the car. I know driving the car with that code is incredible stupid but I need a car, and im almost close to being able to get the job done im just waiting to get paid in 2 weeks to get myself a jack, jack stands and the Honda special 50mm socket for the crank bolt. Any advice would help. I got pretty much all the tools but that
