Left behind some stuff at Road America...

Post image
91 Upvotes

All three of our Porsches got wrecked yesterday in the GTWCA race at Road America. Team spent four or five hours getting pieces off and making them into rollers so that we could at least get them to Indianapolis and they could work on them before two days of testing.

We let behind three full garbage cans and some other parts when we finally rolled out at 10 PM last night.

Really got pissed off at how many people, more adults than kids, kept trying to reach across our barriers to pull parts and pieces out of our piles and kept asking crew members that were working their asses off if they could have stuff that we were clearly piling up to inventory. Spent three hours playing security guard before I finally had to take a nap before we rolled out.

If you go to an event and see that a team has three wrecked cars, don't be a douche bag and start grabbing stuff or bother the crews. If it's not sitting next to or inside a garbage can, or it's clearly behind barricades like our stuff was, don't fucking touch it!

Brake line pressure sensor fitment

Hi there!

I have a Bosch High Pressure sensor

https://www.speedingparts.eu/p/engine-management-electronics/engine-control/sensors/pressure-sensor/bosch-high-pressure-sensor-m10x1-0-261-545-188.html

It states m10x1mm thread and in other sources it mentions 45 degree cone tip.

Because my brake lines use m12x1mm I have a T-connector

https://www.automotive-line.nl/product/remleiding-t-connector-m12-x-1-00-mm-al-128/

And adaptor

https://www.automotive-line.nl/product/remleiding-verloopnippel-m10-x-1-00-m12-x-1-00/

The question is, I'm not sure that the adapter and sensor connections will be tight and right for this application.

Does anyone have experience with connecting it tightly?

TIA

A little insight would be cool (thanks)

I am a (probably neurodivergent) almost 18 year old male from Lithuania and I fell in love with motorsport (primarily f1 because of the sheer amount of content) about 7 months from now.

I don't have any background in karting and have only bought a Moza R3 at the start of this summer because I just couldn't sit still anymore.

My problem here is the tragedy of being a consumer, while I enjoy the fandom aspect of it all, I can't help but feel empty. Like learning physics, being there for every race, buying merch, sim racing, branching out to other types of motorsport besides f1 isn't enough.

In fact, my whole life starts to feel secondary in comparison to it, like nothing besides this truly matters, not friends, nor academic achievements.

I know realistically it's over for me before it even started (in regard of driving professionally), but I ask here - what is the MAXIMUM I can aim to achieve and how? (limited budget, of course). What are projects I can take on to strengthen the likelihood of pursuing anything even close to indy, formula or any other major series? What other stuff I can read up on, research or do to at least truly understand this world better?

Help me to talk about GT1

Hello! Quick context: I'm planning to make a youtube video about the GT1 group (BPR series and its successor until 2012)

What I basically need help for:

- Spicy anecdotes (from manufacturers, races, drivers, teams)

- Your opinion if you remember how it was

- Ideas to make it enjoyable for people who don't necessarily "care" about racing (saying that because many famous cars were introduced in the series, which could raise interest among car enthusiasts)

- Articles / Videos / Photos / Archives if you have any

NOTE: I do NOT want to make a video just listing the winners and races, because it's not the best way to make it interesting and enjoyable. I want to make a more original video, maybe going from one manufacturer to another, explaining the domination of certain cars and the "fall" of the series.

I already made a video about the DTM, and it was my best one so far, I believe these types of stories are the best ones to tell

Could NASCAR race at Laguna Seca?

Any series, I guess, and I've driven cup cars on it on Forza for whatever that's worth. But could it really work? I feel the cars couldn't handle the corkscrew that much but idk enough to make that assumption

Has there ever been a 0.0 tie in racing? Ive done a good bit of research and can't find anything. Would the winner be the car with the faster lap?

Question: Is it okay to post a link of a site/project I've started and want feedback on (it's for motorsport)?

I need help and feedback for an app I've made for motorsport championships. And I don't want to simply self promote as it's against the community's rules. However I don't know how else to gain feedback.

Amateur Racer - Hallet Spec Racer Full Length Race Coverage

There are always people asking what motorsports to watch and I'm really excited for people to see more content about the SCCA and American amateur racers.

The newest episode of Amateur Racer full race coverage of the Spec Racer Ford race from Hallet Motor Racing Circuit.

This class has some of the best racing of any kind.

If you don't know about the spec racer, it is one of the longest running, most competitive classes in American amateur road racing. Good used cars can be purchased for 40-50k, and new ones are between 70 and 90k depending on how crazy you get with data, video, paint etc.

Hey everyone, if you remember last week I sent another video from KerbsideGT on YouTube, I would like to publicly state I am now in charge of promotion on Reddit for the channel. So would love to see some of you on YouTube!

Regardless, the video is really interesting and would love to see if anyone has any early memories of the championship!?

What racing series has best battles.

I started watching f1 in 2021 and from then I've never seen such battles. F1 is trash nowdays in my opinion. What series would you advise me to start watching.
