Rules update. Queue Information

The queue is set to filter anyone with low karma to prevent spam. That's why your getting filtered. I approve queues every other day because there's usually 20-30 people asking about pay or asking unrelated questions that I have to sort through.

We have two new rules

  1. No ai generated content

I genuinely don't understand why I'd even need to make this a rule. No where in this subreddit would it make any sense to use AI

  2. Stop asking about pay.

We get dozens of questions about why your not getting paid. If, for any reason you need to ask about pay. Ask your Supervisor. We have no control over pay or schedule. If you get paid early usually, you may end up getting paid on the standard pay day anyways.

Question? Separation letter?

So I got hired by allied did my in person interview with the employer, they took my picture, went to neo, everything was good and I was waiting for the employer to do my background. Waited almost a month and the manager kept telling me the background was still being done. Today I received a email with an employee separation letter?? Has this happened to anyone? Mind you I don’t have any kind of criminal background, why would the manager tell me to keep waiting then I get a separation letter? I have heard crazy stories from this company, but this is dumb lol

Uniform Issue. Communication is mediocre. Yall was right about Allied Universal.

I’m suppose to be working at my first shift in a Bank of America but got the wrong pants size. They were too long in length. (I got my uniform in late July and called my manger the same day. He said that he’ll ordered another one. Waited and ask about for all of August. (Mind you, I’m new to this)

Long story short, my manger to meet with a guy that that take care of the uniforms. So, I went to on of the AU Offices in manhattan and I talk to the guy who handles the uniforms.

After some talks , he said there was nothing that I could do and told me that I should’ve “pump up” my pants to make them fit.) As in go to the cleaners to make it happen. These were Navy/Black cargo pants. So, I left with nothing but the wrong pants that I had from the start. You what’s funny, I found out the that a name is assigned to pants you are gonna wear. First name was right and the last name was different.

Yall was right about Allied. Shame on me…

Holding my perc card

They will not give my perc card after they told me I would get it after I drop off my uniform in office. Now they are saying they will send it in the mail but it should have been at the office when I was there.

Extra Shifts when you’re new

Allied Universal’s job website consistently mentions picking up shifts and I just want to know:

Do you have to work for a while (like after a month to 90 days) or can you pick them up as soon as you start or do you need complete some sort of training first then be able to claim shifts?

Also, does each position require specific training or can you just pick up whatever shift at wherever site (and is the pay different outside your own site?)

Does anybody know when I should be expecting an update ?

I completed my background check on Friday I believe it’s currently under review or whatever right now , and I also submitted the drug consent form on Friday , what’s usually the next steps after this? should I be expecting a email or call from someone soon , they told me In my zoom call I would get more info on Friday but the day they talked to me WAS on Friday so I’m assuming they mean this next upcoming Friday or something? Just asking for more information from people who’ve already gone through this process on what I should expect next

Write ups, can you fight it?

So I got a write up the other week for something stupid, it was for not notifying my shift supervisor that police were at our site about a case they were working on, I notified my internal security for the company I have a contract with and they took over from there. But apparently I was supposed to notify my supervisor immediately whenever police are on site and get the police officers badge numbers. My supervisor was upset that I did not notify her on time, I told her I didn't know this. At the same time we were busy inside checking people in and out and my newest guard was new and they were on X Ray, so it was a lot to deal with. The next day or so I got a write up, me and my shift supervisor talked it out but I still believe I shouldn't get written up for this, she could have talked to me about the mistake first of all instead goes straight to my newest account manager and they said to write me up.

I've been with the company and same site for over a year and 14 months perfect attendance, never called out or been late to work and always do overtime, but this happens when I get a new shift supervisor and new account manager that doesn't handle things that well at all.

What can I do at this point, I heard I can go to HR and try to resolve the matter or if it will make things worse.

Thanks for any advice is much appreciated

Should i give my two weeks notice?

Soo yeah im doing college courses and i even told them that i have college courses. Heres the thing they put me in a site where it was chill and alot of down time it was perfect until they starting messing with my schedule and the site im at decided to just cut down to two guards only instead of four we have no flex officers in this site so when ever my site supervisor cant come in i have to come in on demand. Everything its cluttering so bad right now i cant seem to juggle everything and today i had to come in because the site im at decided to open and my supervisor couldnt cover right now im preparing for a presentation that is due tonight while making a powerpoint slide. Also im doing the work of two guards which consist of patrolling, checking cameras, access control, checking in visitors, opening up all entrances, submitting three spreads sheets by the end of the shift, doing a closing check list, doing a cctv daily audits, and submitting a report of the daily basis of operation. While closing more than 10 doors. I cant do it anymore.

Tips Houly pay isnt correct

Just stated here at allied a two weeks ago at a site I was told over the phone by the site manager was going to pay 24/hour starting but my first check came and on ehub it says im only getting paid 22/hour I looked back at the forms I signed and they didn't put the hourly wage on any of them so theres no proof of them saying they'd pay me 24/hour. Is there anything I can do here and is this a common thing that has happened to other people? Id like to keep the job because i like it and ive already quit my old jon but im missing out on a good amount of money because of this.

Question? How do you manage with Lytx cameras

My post just installed these bulky dashcams in the windshield. I've heard horrible stories from other guards at other post. For those who have them in your vehicles how do you manage? Does the Lytx stay on while the car is off? My tour takes about 10 minutes to do while the other is parking in a high visibility spot. For that time I'm on the phone before the next tour starts. Will this basically make it impossible?

Wasted my time

So I had an interview with allied today at noon, north Houston office for a flex officer position. I get there and the office is deadbolted shut. Nobody answers the phone.
Guard downstairs said they are closed and won’t be back until Monday.
Nothing like driving 30 miles 1 way in Houston traffic for nothing.

Question? Can't see past the 10th on Lisa

To put it simply, Lisa is not allowing me to see past the 10th, and has additionally not given me any available shifts for next week. Am I getting fired or is this a Lisa glitch?

Question? Do write ups expire?

I received my first verbal warning back in around March for calling off without proper notice. Today I called out again but with plenty of notice, I called out 5 and a half hours before my shift had started. I asked my manager if this would be my 2nd written warning but they didn’t really give a clear answer they just said it would go as an ‘unexcused’ absence. I had heard from coworkers that warnings usually expire after 90 days which i’m not sure if its true or not but if it is there’s no way this would count as a second warning if my first warning was months ago right?

Rant Kind of want to quit

Well title says it all but yeah this job is easy and all but my coworkers talk bad behind each others back. I rather not be in an environment like that and then knowing they talk like that about each other makes me paranoid of how they feel about me. I’m back at school now so my time is limited but I don’t even want to bother to show up for work…

Specific Flex Position

I found a position for a Flex Officer and the fact that being called in with little to no advance notice has me feeling uneasy, but it says “Shift Type: Evening, Overnight
Work Days Available: Monday, Saturday - Sunday”
Would this mean that being called in will only happen on these days and times or will I still get called in regardless of the day and time?

As a bonus:

- How does pay work, because an amount is not specified?

- Can you get fired for not working enough (Example: You only work two days a week)?

- How does pay you get vacation days/likelihood of approved days off and how does calling out work?

-Benefits are provided, how is the insurance dispersed if needed to be used (do they not approve anything)?

Payroll issues

Is it normal for your account Manager To mess up payroll on a weekly basis? I work at has roughly 35 guards. Every week there’s somewhere between five and 10 people that are missing hours. I’m not just talking about one or two hours. I’m talking over $400 missing from certain paychecks. It’s been going on for close to half a year now. Is this just something that is expected and accepted? I’m curious to see if it’s going on at all sites.

Got fired due to wrong location what happens

Hi,

I was put in the wrong location and district. I live in a big city and wasn't told the actual location until after training. What happens to my perc and security license? I am assuming I have to pay the back too. They will not transfer me. They knew I took bus. It was 3 hours away from my address with 3 miles of walking each way which I can't do due to ADA accomodations. So can you guys give me a heads-up?

Requesting a site transfer process

Hello, I am 4 months into my site as an officer but want to transfer when my 6 months hit. The site is just not for me sadly. I'm wondering what the procedure is to request a transfer. Do I just request it through LISA or is it better to talk to a HR person at the office. Or should I just looks for other sites, on the company website, and apply when my 6 months hit? I'm in the bay area if that helps. Any advice would help thank you so much.
