I do still want to TRY one block though, to see what the actual experience is like. Even though it will likely mean putting DUMB miles on my car.

Was the drive a combined total of 30 miles including my home trip, maybe. But just having one envelope package and finishing in an hour you bet I had my hands on the wheel on 10 and 2.

I haven't started doing any blocks yet, but I have been watching alot of YouTube videos and now I have mixed feelings if Amazon flex might be a little bit more stressful than Ubereats.

We are a low income family with kids, I try to do some gig work to help my hubby out with at least groceries, I get stressed super fast I've always been this way, and after doing uber eats for a year dealing with restaurants and demanding customers, I'm kinda burnt out.

I applied for amazon flex around the same time last year that I started ubereats and was barely accepted yesterday.

I got used to the ubereats app and how to use it, Amazon flex after watching videos seem like they give far routes with Alot of drop offs for probably around the same amount that I would make with maybe 7 to 10 drop offs with Uber.

Anyone that has done these gig apps, was Amazon a lil less stress for you?

So this morning I had an 3:15 am route scheduled. I left my house about 40 minutes before route start time like I normally do. Unexpectedly the exact exit I needed to take to get to the Amazon warehouse was closed so I had to take a detour which added about 10 additional minutes to my drive. This put me at arriving at the station at 3:19 am which is within the 5 minute grace period. I pull in at 3:19 exactly and check in. Block then says “you have missed your block”. So I reached out to support and requested that this be fixed because I checked in within my 5 minute grace period. Support then tells me that there is no longer a 5 minute grace period for check ins due to change of processes. Not sure what exactly that means but that’s cool they can change and make up their own rules without at least notifying drivers via email of such changes. So frustrating!

Had 2 blocks today - a 4.5 in the morning and a 3.5 in the afternoon. There was an hour between them.

Early block was easy, but the warehouse closed last night due to a storm, so several packages went out today instead. A couple customers cancelled after my route started, so I had to bring them back. No problem, I was going back anyway. Got there, scanned them and put them in the bin.

Went to start my second block and a screen showed up I'd never seen. I showed the staff and she did something and my shift disappeared. It showed I had a shift, but I couldn't check in and she told me to contact support. Support told me to talk to the staff.

Meanwhile, the time went over and now I'm gonna get a missed block and no pay.

The whole thing is ridiculous. Is there any way to avoid the hit (it was documented in both places) and still get paid?

Btw - apparently this is a known glitch. If you have 2 blocks an hour or less apart, and have returns from block 1, this has a high odds of happening. So be careful

This was a disaster of a run. So much happened. I was taking down gravel roads, big spiders, dogs, and distance. Exhausting at 3AM. 🕒

I felt so bad about leaving this nice lady’s package at the gateISH like that. Her dog and its friend were out running at me, so I had to wait for them to sit down (after the owner told them to sit). I was scared 😱 for sure. 😳

There was a very nice guy who let me leave his package at the end of the driveway. 😁 I was worried about squeezing through to get to the back of the property.

P.S. I appreciate Amazon for being there for a little extra income. Just some treacherous runs in the mix.😱🤦‍♀️💀💯🎯

I be seeing people post they offers and be jealous. I havent seen anything above 70 in so long and i really just started a couple months ago at first it was a 100 here 90 there now this all i see. i hate it here

The new warehouse popped up on Google maps in Portland and now it looks like they are ready to start the offers on the app. Is this more like fresh or packages?

I only do fresh online as the only SSD station close to me is +45 mnts away and last time I did an SSD I ended up almost in PA.

Today I was sitting in the station after finishing a previous block and decided to try the instant offer option by the 1st time.

This offer came in and I just focused in the time I had left. I accepted it and proceeded to pickup the packages. It is not until I finish the block that I realized that the $54 “surge” pay, which is supposed to be 65% surge and I thought it was $74 because of the surge, is the same base pay I would have gotten for a 2 hr block.

Am I missing something or surge not always means more pay?

Recently the station employees have started asking everyone to roll all their windows down before pulling up to the loading bays and I'm just curious why? I can't think of any reason for it.

I saw this email posted in an Amazon Flex group and I’m curious if anyone knows what’s going on. It says that starting September 2, the driver will no longer receive offers in the Ponca–Arkansas City region and needs to transfer to another region. Is Amazon starting to remove drivers from certain regions or consolidate/close some areas? Or could this be because the person who received the email doesn’t actually live in or belong to that region? Also, has anyone else received an email like this, and can anyone confirm whether it’s legitimate or possibly fake? Just trying to understand why Amazon would suddenly require someone to change regions.

So, I had a 4:45 PM block scheduled at the new YYZ3 station today. I got to the station early, around 4:30–4:40 PM. Sitting in my car, I completed the facial verification on the Amazon Flex app with no issues. The app confirmed my check-in, updated, and moved to the step telling me to scan the arrival code and finish remaining deliveries.
I walked up to the station door to scan the code. The problem? The arrival code isn't posted outside; it’s kept inside by the staff. There was already a line of drivers waiting ahead of me, so I lined up like everyone else. Since they only process drivers one by one to hand out license-scans and carts, I waited my turn.
By the time I reached the front of the line, it was 4:50 PM.
The staff member at the door immediately snapped at me, saying, "You're late, we can't give you a block."
I tried explaining that I’d been standing in line after checking in on the app well before 4:45 PM, and that I couldn't scan the arrival code until it was my turn at the door. I literally couldn't jump ahead of the drivers in front of me (turns out some were 5:00 PM blocks, but how was I supposed to know that?).
Instead of listening, the staff member was incredibly rude, started shouting, and refused to hand over a cart, claiming I missed the call.
I immediately called Driver Support while still at the station. They confirmed my app check-in time, agreed I followed procedure, and escalated a ticket to Support for payment and standing protection. I’ve also sent a detailed follow-up email outlining the exact timeline.
Has anyone else dealt with station staff withholding blocks because of their bottleneck at the door? Since the app officially checked me in on time, what are the chances Support actually clears my standings and pays out the block?

Amazon says it was delivered on Thursday, but I didn't go in to collect it until Saturday, and they don't know where the package is. How long should I wait to see if it shows up, and should I call Amazon because the package wasn't delivered?

I just got this email and it’s not showing anything on my standing history and of course can’t email because they don’t use that email anymore and all support does anymore is say I’ve passed this information along to the correct team
