I gave JEE. Scored only 85 percentile. Now in tier-3 cse. Haven't started DSA yet. So how hard it is compared to JEE? Which preparation is harder? I am pretty decent at math. Neither too good nor too bad.

So I'm in 2nd year and I recently our SIH team (all 2nd years) participated in the Internal rounds but we didn't get selected cause apparently our PPT was less with info and we lacked a lot of crucial things in it.

All of this I understand but I can't get over the disappointment of not being selected. Aisa lagra hai ki I'm not a real engineer or smtg.

I’m an engineering student from a close-knit, non-toxic batch. Recently, five people pulled a fake MNC interview prank on our group. Some fell for it, some didn’t. I accept it was morally wrong, but we saw it as mutual banter.

We have smaller subgroups too. Some of my friends joined those five in pranking us. I fell for the fake interview, they made memes about me, and I made memes about them. It was always mutual. But today, Friend 1 took a meme personally and showed up with a whole mob against me, even though he had done the same to me before. They even threatened me with death. I told them they shouldn’t assume I’m afraid of them in any way. All this happened on College Gate today.

My Friend2 whom i considered brother force me to drive bike to his room. As a good gesture , I decided to drove him there. He asked me to be seated in his room . The Friend 1 again showed up with same mob there threatened me again and Again . All this because they were assuming i made his videos viral ( which i didn't). I obviously made memes because Friend 2 doing same with Friend 1 but Friend 1 had no objection with meme created by Friends 2 , Friend 3 and so on...

Hurts.

But I told mob thrice , not afraid of anyone .

TL;DR: A harmless, mutual meme prank between friends turned serious when Friend 1 took a meme personally and confronted me with a group, repeatedly giving me death threats at the college gate and later at Friend 2’s room. It hurts, but I made it clear three times that I’m not afraid of their intimidation.

I’ve been working as an intern at a startup for the past 6 months (March to August). My original internship offer was for 6 months, and I’ve completed that period.

I’m one of the early/founding interns, so I know quite a lot about the product and the work we do.

I asked the founder about a PPO, but he said that since I’m still a student, they can’t offer me a full-time position until I graduate, which is about 9 months from now.

The problem is that I’m not learning much anymore. Most of the work is basically vibe coding and completing whatever tasks are assigned. Because of the internship workload, I’m also unable to properly focus on learning new things.

Now the founder has started giving me more tasks, but honestly, I don’t feel like continuing with the internship.

But i am having doubts regarding what to do what to choose and all. Many are telling go with c++ it will give you edge some are saying java is best for placements. I have never done coding before so i am hella confused about what to do😭. In our college mostly mass recruiters visits and some offers like 2-3 above 15lpa i guess. My brother attends classes (now in 2nd year) only when necessary and does not go to college at all when not required. He’s an introvert kid who socialises barely but does enough to get decent marks in exams. He’s a part of couple of clubs as well in college.
My question is - is it really necessary to attend college when you can just study by yourself and get good scores in exams? Does your attendance affect placements? How impactful is it besides being just a criteria for taking exams?

I know the fact that from my clg placements in ECE are not good but very average..so I want to develop my skills in software development.

What i want to ask is that now should I participate in hackathons from now only? Like SIH..cause I do not know anything..just basics of C++ plus i have ECE branch which is tougher than CSE/IT..I am not saying that I will not EVER participate in hackathons and events but as of now... should I? I do not have much skills i have to manage both ECE and now start preparing by myself for placement.
