$50 Brew Goblins Do Aristocrats Now! ($47 The Great Goblin Aristocrats)

Folks, I've made a cracked goblin aristocrat deck for under $50:

https://moxfield.com/decks/QuwUCtvMAEupfkSjsgf7gQ

Thanks to [[The Great Goblin]] goblins now have card advantage and other ways to deal non-combat damage in the CZ. It's a HUGE WIN, and a great place to put some of the new tricks from Lorwyn Eclipsed like [[Boggart Mischief]].

Not only can you win through INFINITE lines with persist creatures, but now you can throw damage around by placing counters too. It's so fun, and a brew made for the goblin lover since EVERYTHING in the 99 is a goblin.

I've got a full deck tech, with combo lines and upgrade reccos, live on YT now:

$100 Brew Sarkhan Voltron – Can we make this work?

Post image

Hey everyone,

I recently went through my bulk and stumbled across one of my first-ever Magic cards: Sarkhan, Soul Aflame. That got me thinking about building a Dragon Commander deck, something I’ve always wanted to do but never really found the right commander for.

The problem is: I don’t actually own that many Dragons. So rather than trying to win through regular Dragon combat damage, I had a different idea:

What if I build Sarkhan as a Voltron commander and win through Commander damage?

Sarkhan becomes a copy of a Dragon whenever another Dragon enters the battlefield, while still being Sarkhan. That seems like a pretty interesting way to turn him into a massive threat.

The rough idea is:

  • Dragon ramp/discounts like Dragonlord’s Servant and Dragonspeaker Shaman to get Dragons onto the battlefield quickly.
  • Power boosts like Crucible of Fire and Patchwork Banner to make Sarkhan bigger once he becomes a Dragon.
  • Double damage from cards like Twinflame Tyrant to potentially close out a player with one attack.
  • Dragons like Tyrant of Kher Ridges or Shivan Dragon that can give Sarkhan ways to pump himself.
  • Dragons with useful ETB or attack triggers to give the deck some additional value and speed.
  • Ideally, some way to get an extra combat phase and finish someone off.

So essentially, I’m looking for cards that support a Sarkhan Voltron strategy — cards that make Dragons cheaper, pump Sarkhan up, double his damage, or give me additional combat phases.

The deck is technically Dragon tribal, but the Dragons are really there to enable Sarkhan rather than being the main win condition.

Does this sound like a realistic game plan, or am I asking way too much of Sarkhan? I’d love to hear any card suggestions, ideas, or general advice!

I actually have all the cards I mentioned in my bulk.

Thanks for ur advice!

$50 Brew Looking to join Commander and would love some advice on budget decks that are both fun and can keep up with meta

Hey guys! Returning player here. Haven't played since around 2017 and I'm looking to get into commander and would love some advice on Commander decks to build. The budget I've got is around $50 but it's not hard set.

Would love decks that focus around LOTR (+ The Hobbit), Avatar the Last Airbender, God of War, Spiderman, Doctor Who or DnD. They dont have to be these, I just think they're neat.

Thanks!

$50 Brew 80% Winrate with a $50 Budget Deck in Competitive MTG BRAWL! Light PAWS ...

Sup my homies, I am sharing this one today because it went extremely well in the competitive brawl queue today and I figured you might be interested.

Especially because we were slaying ancient tomb, chrome moxes, and mox ambers like it was going out of style! The horror they must of felt when this $50 budget deck completely terrorized their Gandalf playstyles and left them wondering why they would even want to build that deck out in real life :)

This commander is dirt nasty and I honestly felt we had gas for days, I was posing the question to the YouTube audience if they ever had experience with this commander in EDH, and if so what kind of suggestions they might have moving forward with the deck.

Realistically she is putting 17/17 stats on herself with ward 2 with [[sheltered, by ghosts]] [[ethereal armor]] and [[all that glitters]] by turn 4-5.

Let me know what you think of the list!

$50 Brew Ghalta, Primal Hunger – Mono-Green Stompy (Under $50)

I really wanted a stompy deck for my set, with some throwback cards to the 60 card Señor Stompy deck I used to play when Ice Age and Mirage were both around. I went with [[Ghalta, Primal Hunger]], which feels like the most stompy of all mono-green commanders.

Budget: Under $50 using Card Kingdom prices for the 99 (because they’re closer to Australian prices). The majority of cards under $1, but if a few are a little more expensive then that’s fine, especially since prices seem to be constantly fluctuating lately. Not including the commander in the budget, because if I end up completing the 32 deck challenge I'll be screwed on the 4 colour commanders. I’ve already had to adjust this deck multiple times because of price changes so I think I’ll just accept what it’s at now. It was below $50 very recently, even if it isn’t now. Avoiding the Sol Ring/Dark Ritual/Counterspell/Swords to Plowshares region of cards for budget and power reasons.

Power Level: Bracket 2. No infinite combos or un-telegraphed “I win” conditions. I’ve started trying out SlingLab that someone posted on one of the other subs and it seems to clock all my decks as bracket 2 decks that “threaten the table around turn 8 or 9”, for what it’s worth.

I don’t think there’s anything particularly unusual in the deck comparing it to other budget Ghalta decks I could find online, except maybe the nostalgia cards like [Spectral Bears]], [[Jolrael’s Centaur]], [[Rogue Elephant]], [[Bounty of the Hunt]], and [[Heart of Yavimaya]]. I don't think even they're too out there though.

I’ve done a little bit of testing on Forge and it plays exactly how you’d expect it to. It was a nice change of pace to play a straightforward commander deck though, and I understand now why people like Ghalta.

$50 Brew Najeela and Her Amazing Friends

Hey everyone!

Brewed up a budget-y low bracket [[Najeela, the Blade-Blossom]] deck and wanted to share it with y'all. Its purposefully missing staples like [[Faeburrow Elder]], [[Druids' Repository]], and [[Derevi, Empyrial Tactician]] so the deck stays low bracket and doesn't go infinite, but it wouldn't be difficult to make some cuts to the deck and have it stay sub $100. There is some synergy with [[Song of Freyalise]] that may get you some extra combats per turn cycle, but not enough to go infinite. Would love to see other people's budget Najeelas, as well as know what y'all would cut/add to this deck!

$100 Brew ISO Rev, Tithe Extractor Budget Brew

Like the title states in search of Rev, Tithe Extractor budget deck excluding Rev in the cost.

I’d like to lean into the thief side.

I have some strong mono black cards laying around like Revel in Riches, Jet Medallion, Imp’s Mischief, Reanimate I’d include if it made sense.

Any suggestions help! Thanks!

$100 Brew Gerard Weatherlight Combo

Hey, looking on some advice for a Gerard Weatherlight Hero brew. Trying to stay in Bracket 2 (most of my play group is playing precons with minor upgrades) with a side board to pop up to bracket 4 with some other friends. Trying to stay to $1 or less per total card count. And going for a combo win where I kill everything and Gerard on repeat until I win. I love combos. Thoughts, questions, comments, concerns and suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.
