I just wanted to come her and ask if like CMU had like pre med orgs other then HHP or like EMS. I lowkey got advice from people to transfer out but like my classes have been going good, not much stress, and I’ve already joined a research lab and stuff so I feel like I’m building a strong foundation here rn.

Please be like brutally honest, I do have some stats that makes me a bit weirder and different then other first years so maybe it changed the whole perspective .

I have an associates degree so like I kinda know college classes structures and like what to expect

I also have clinical hours as a CNA, I’ve done lab work as a research assistant and a lab tech for classes, and I’m kinda retaking most of my classes rn cause CMU credit transfer sucks 😔

I have got this response when I tried to get into SIO every time with my MacBook since this morning(I have tried various ways to get into it now). While my phone could normally login to my SIO, it seems like just my Mac doesn't work. Does anyone had this issue before? Who could I ask for help if it continues to be a problem?

I am currently a freshmen studying business admin and will probably add an additional major in either stat or statML either next semester or as a sophomore. I want to try to break into finance, but I’m also interested in stuff like data science which is why I’m tryna add the STEM major for flexibility. That is why both tepper finance group and cmu quant club interest me. However, the info session is happening on the same day. TFG from 5-6 and quant club from 5-7, so I’ll either miss all of TFG or over half of quant club info session. Which do you think is more beneficial to go to?

I lost my wallet within the last week. It is off-whitish, yellow and has Korean or Japanese style cartoon cats and other green, yellow characters on it. It has my government ID in it, so I really need it because now I can’t travel out Pennsylvania. The last time I remember having it was last Saturday in my dorm after coming back from Berry Fresh. I’ve flipped my room upside down multiple times to look for it and went back to berry fresh, but it’s not in either location. If you see it, please lmk. Lost and found didn’t have it.

Hey everyone, I’m a first-semester MSCS student focusing on ML and trying to finalize my schedule.

I’m pretty set on 10-703 Deep RL and 10-714 Deep Learning Systems, but I’m wondering whether taking both together is too much for a first semester.

For my third course, I’m deciding between:

• 15-659 Probability & Computing II
• 11-611 NLP
• 10-605 ML with Large Datasets

I’m currently leaning toward 15-659 because the material sounds interesting and it satisfies Theory breadth, but it has weekly HW/quizzes plus 3 exams.

Would 10-703 + 10-714 + 15-659 be a reasonable workload? And if not, which of these courses would you swap out?

Hi, has anyone here taken 36-466 in the fall of 2025. I would like to know how the class was as I see that it is rated very highly on FCE with the current professor. However, with the previous professor, it is rated very poorly.
