Most online stories I hear about it, tend to be bad, or long cat and mouse game. Vague circular responses. Inability to understand. Misunderstandings. Not knowing whether a case still being investigated or not. Etc etc. I’m suprised how a product wifh such supposedly bad support Woulf still have adoring fans. Especially if they don’t fix, ingore or mske things worse, downgrading your experience wifh ChatGPT. I don’t think it’s good at at all.

So, I legit just updated the app and now just found this out.
This is so shit, what do you mean it doesn’t COPY AND PASTE the TEXT from a different website or app anymore?! Isn’t that the whole thing behind COPY AND PASTE?! Y’know, copying some text and pasting it somewhere else?
I use Google and use the copy and paste feature to put that text in ChatGPT REGULARLY!

Ran 15 different buyer questions ("best natural deodorant for sensitive skin", "longest lasting aluminum-free deodorant", "underarm irritation from natural deodorant"...) through 5 AI assistants on [date]. 75 answers.
 
Leaderboard by how often each brand was recommended:
1. Native, 45.3% (won on every single AI)
2. Dr. Squatch, 18.7% (but every one of those came from a question that already said "Dr. Squatch")
3. Bulldog, 13.3%
4. Primally Pure, 12%
5. Every Man Jack, 9.3%
6. Baxter of California, 1.3%
 
The interesting bit: when the question didn't contain a brand name, Dr. Squatch was recommended 0 times out of 55. The AIs seem to reward the site that explains ingredients and answers FAQs (Native has 14 on one product page, and ChatGPT's wording is very close to it), not the one with the biggest ad budget.

Putting LLMs in a game theory set up where they need to coordinate and reason about each other's beliefs. I show a few things: first, that LLMs can play a 'global game' with close to optimal strategy.

Second, that there is a downstream "agitating" effect to communication: when agents communicate, they are more likely to revolt against their government.

Third, that agents are more likely to revolt exactly when they get evidence that others are willing to act.

And finally, that surveillance that is perceived as adversarial reduces participation, as agents omit mentions of direct action and willingness to participate.

I was working on a marketing project when I got signed off and I knew what that meant. I checked my email and I was banned for recidivism. It wasn't hard to figure out it was me, I used the same email as last time with a different number on the same phone.

That's like my fourth account and yea I deserve it, I had two other projects that were really against TOS, and I never took a hint. Fine, consider my arm twisted, I'm successfully eating shit.

it was set to reset on september 1 so i didnt do anything till thhat date but i casually droppped msg on 31st then it started working i think we had reset from gpt correct me if i am wrong but suddenly now my usage were remaining 36% for weekly and in just 1 msg again my weekly quota is full ? is this normal now resets on september 7 and date is 2 september idk is this regular or i am only facing this issue

I just found this usage screen in Codex and apparently I’ve used 18.5 BILLION tokens lifetime.

My peak was 1.6 billion tokens in a single day.

I’m on the $200/month ChatGPT Pro plan, so I got curious and asked ChatGPT to estimate what this kind of usage might have cost if I were paying API rates instead.

This is where ChatGPT explained how the numbers worked...

The problem is that Codex only shows the total token count. There’s no way, at least that I can find, to see how many of those were input tokens, output tokens, or cached input tokens.

That matters a lot because those are priced very differently.

So ChatGPT ran a couple of hypothetical scenarios using a 90% input / 10% output split and an 80% input / 20% output split.

Here’s what it came up with for 18.5 billion tokens:

That’s a pretty ridiculous range.

Depending on the model and assumptions, 18.5B tokens could represent anywhere from about $19K to $166K in retail API usage.

For the OpenAI comparison, the 90/10 estimate was about $103,600.

My 1.6 billion token day would have been roughly $9,000 under the same OpenAI pricing assumption.

But again, these numbers could be way off.

If a large percentage of those 18.5B tokens were cached, the API cost could be dramatically lower. We also don’t know exactly how Codex calculates the lifetime token number or whether it maps directly to API-billable tokens.

So I’m definitely not claiming OpenAI spent $100K on my account. I just asked ChatGPT to put 18.5 billion tokens into perspective using retail API pricing, and the results were interesting enough to share.

Either way, for $200/month, I think I’m getting my money’s worth. 😂

My dog started having focal seizures and the vet refused to believe that it was caused from Simparica Trio (a flea and tick prevention).

After doing research with GPT. You'll discover these companies who make drugs for our animals have very loose and weak protections against harm.

For instance, the smallest pill they provide for dogs is about 4x the neuro ingredient of the equilivant pill for a medium/large dog.

These companies also make it so you cannot break up the pill smaller as the drug ingredient isnt evenly spread in the pill. Forcing you to either take it all or none.

The vet absolutely refused that simptrio was causing my dog to have focal seizures (heartbreaking). Guess what? The same vet gets kickbacks from simptrio for selling it.

I took my dog off the medication (it stays in the system for months) and the vet said there was nothing I can do to provide temporary relief from focal seizures.

So I look it up with GPT, guess what? There is a medication that can be temporarily used to prevent focal seizures. Gabapentin.

I demanded the vet to give me Gabapentin for my dog, this instantly stopped the seizures while simptrio was in his system.

Today my dog has zero focal seizures. Does not take any medication and stays far from flea and tick meds from the vet.

TLDR; fuck corporate vets and GPT saved my dogs life.

Has anyone else noticed ChatGPT being really unreliable recently?

I’ve been using it to help me reorganise and audit a fairly large file system, and it’ll work perfectly well for a while, then suddenly just stop.

I get the spinning ChatGPT logo indefinitely and the conversation never loads again properly. Weirdly, sometimes I can still send a message and get the answer through as a phone notification, but I can’t actually open the conversation to see it.

It’s particularly frustrating when you’ve got a long-running thread with loads of useful work and context in it, because effectively the whole thing becomes inaccessible.

I’ve tried the app and desktop and seem to be having similar issues.

Anyone else experiencing this recently? And if so, have you found a way of getting the affected conversations working again?

I received a debt collection claim for €367.60 related to a debt from around 13 years ago. There was already an enforceable court title, so simply ignoring it wasn’t an option.

I gave ChatGPT the complete claim and asked it to analyze it. First, it recommended requesting a copy of the original court title instead of blindly paying. Once I received it, I uploaded that too.

ChatGPT compared the title with the current claim and found that while much of the original debt and interest was legitimate, several additional fees had been added over the years.

We then drafted a deliberately detailed response disputing the current amount and requesting documentation, legal justification, and proof of necessity for every additional charge.
At the end, I offered them an alternative: instead of digging through years of documentation and answering all my questions, I would pay €200 immediately if they agreed to settle the entire matter permanently.

I expected them to reject it or make a counteroffer.

They accepted.
Claim: €367.60 → Settlement: €200 → Saved: €167.60 (~46%)

No magical legal loophole. ChatGPT basically helped me understand the documents, identify where I actually had leverage, and turn that into a negotiation strategy.

Apparently my ChatGPT subscription just paid for itself. 😄

I think ChatGPT and AI is great

However it is pushing for Gmail connectivity.

One thing that takes me hours is book keeping from suppliers.

It reckons if it was connected I could scan a statement and it will pick out all the emails and individual invoices to make the statement match.

This is great but I am worried about it having access to so much.

Am I worrying too much or should I just greate a new Gmail to forward said invoices etc and let it have that?

I have a project set up with all of my orgs branding guidelines and I use it to generate thumbnails for organization data. It works great, but one particular thing I struggle with is getting it to draw non-standard shapes. For example, we have a city that I would love for it to be able to reliably draw the boundary of, but it just can't do it. I've given it png files, vector files, GIS files, and everything in between in an attempt to get it to understand the shape, but every time I ask it to draw it, it just spits out a random shape and says it drew it using the reference, which it clearly didn't. I know at it's core it is a text based AI, but I've even asked it to use python to interpret the spatial data and it still didn't work. Any ideas?

New to the AI scene and learning what works and what does not.
1. In order to get reliable feedback and help with questions, is a personal account required?
2. If I create an account, will my chats be saved for future reference?
3. Does the whole ChatGPT learn from my questions/prompts, or does the info live in my individual account?

I got this “Suspicious activity detected” warning last night and it’s still there.

I already changed my password, but nothing has changed yet. I’ve seen people saying that you sometimes just have to wait 24 hours, but I have no idea if that’s actually true.

Has anyone had this recently? Did it go away by itself, and how long did it take?

I will ask it for such basic information and it gets it completely wrong.

I started using ChatGPT in 2024 and it was usually correct about pretty much everything, but nowadays the free version seems to have contracted amnesia.

I started a new conversation with ChatGPT a moment ago about how the new iPhone is getting released this month.

And ChatGPT was like, “Yes, the iPhone 17 is being announced this September.”

And I’m like bro… the iPhone 17 came out a year ago.

“Oh, that’s right, I got that one wrong. I meant to say the iPhone 18 is being announced this year.”

This is such incredibly basic information, I simply can’t fathom how ChatGPT got it wrong. I’m sure the paid version wouldn’t have gotten such a simple fact wrong.

I’m trying to create a reading journal. I’ve created a few pages I love. However, every time I try to create an author series checklist, I get stuck trying to get it to look right with the correct information. I end up wasting all my images for the day. And the more times I try, the more mistakes there are.

Prompts that work for the theme of one page don’t work for this.

Is there a certain way to phrase a prompt that makes ChatGPT understand what I’m asking for?

I’m curious about getting into the world of building & using agents, especially in an architecture that has multiple specialized agents controlled/orchestrated by one central “manager” agent.

I see folks chatting about it here, but how are you all building these? Are you using:
- A custom GPT?
- Workspace agents with a Business subscription?
- OpenAI API + Agents SDK (maybe using Codex to write the Agents SDK app?)
- Other?

Started a few days ago. It clearly is a lower spec model because it doesn't ever "think" for more than 2 seconds and caps web searches at 1-2 requests despite using "High".

I tried testing it with some random obnoxious low level coding problem to see if it'd react different or do hidden routing elsewhere but no, still answers "instantly" and I doubt they've gifted me a model able to think at 10x the speed.

Could I have somebow hit some usage cap on normal chatgpt usage? (Codex thinks and works fine)

Really tough to find answer to this as most people on internet who single out one group want to sell them something. There's also the aspect of metas dwindling down, like the AI slop farms disappearing off the radar atleast for now as far as I'm aware which makes it all unpredictable.

Which group or archetype do you think will benefit the most if at all? CEOs? programmers? content farmers? copywriters? scammers? smol biz or bigcorps? people who don't know the basic foundation of LLMs, enthusiasts or dudes who run custom agent loops in terminal? will it ever change like LLM being swapped for more efficient heavy workload technology and why? please tell me what you think, so i can agree, debate or argue!

I’m currently at 5% usage remaining, and I have the option to use a full reset.

Does anyone know how the reset actually works?

If I use the reset while I still have 5% left, does it:

1. Reset me back to 100%, meaning the remaining 5% is basically lost, or
2. Add a full 100% on top of what I have left, effectively giving me 105% worth of usage?

Trying to figure out whether I should burn through the remaining 5% before hitting the reset button or whether it makes no difference.
