Anyone excited for the new Pro Precision workstation desktops from Dell? I am, and upgrading from my 7960 to the T4, which should arrive in a couple of weeks. Curious to hear if anyone's taking the plunge and what your thoughts may be.

I won't do any coding nor gaming, just basic usage and da vinci resolve usage (basic subtitles adding and basic editing)

Even under full load the right side palm rest is only slightly warm, while on the left i can't even use the keyboard properly.

I'm looking for an NVIDIA RTX 3500 Ada or RTX 4000 Ada GPU board to upgrade my Dell Precision 5680. I've searched eBay and AliExpress but haven't been able to find one.

If anyone knows of a store, supplier, or website that sells these GPU boards, I would really appreciate the recommendation.

I am ant to extend the warranty of my laptop Dell g15 5530 ,laptop is just a month old.Ive contacted dell related to it they shared quotation of about 15000 rupee for extension for 2year basic hardware support.Im wondering if it's really worth or I can negotiate about it.

Number one, the naming is just ridiculous. I'm coming from a Latitude 7440 and want to get something in the same form factor with a good CPU and replaceable memory. I'm trying to decide between these 3, but it isn't obvious what the differences are. The Pro 5 Series 14 and the Precision 5 14S seem to be just about the same, except that the 14S has additional CPU options that include a better iGPU (Intel Arc).

The Pro Precision 5 14 on the other hand supports a discrete GPU, which I don't need, but it looks like it has better cooling (2 heat pipes vs 1 in the other 2). They all have the new Intel Panther Lake CPUs and LPCAMM2 memory, but I'm just curious about performance differences given the thermal configurations. Will the Pro 5 14 and Precision 5 14S throttle frequently? Anyone have any of these laptops and have feedback on them?

So my Alienware AW2723DF has some pretty noticeable image retention. LCD Conditioning seems to clear it temporarily, but I can still see the retained image during the monitor diagnostic mode.

I can literally still see old windows/UI and even the Alienware logo faintly stuck on the screen after I switch to something else. the ghost image stays on the actual monitor.

I contacted Dell since it’s still under warranty, but they’re basically telling me image retention isn’t covered and that they consider image retention to be physical or cosmetic damage, which is BS. However, I’ve repeatedly asked the agent to show me the warranty terms or policy that actually support the statement, and the agent has basically just ignored the question and repeatly telling me the same thing.

What annoys me is I asked them to show me where in the warranty/policy it actually says image retention isn’t covered, and they never really answered that.

Has anyone else had this happen with an Alienware IPS monitor? Did Dell replace urs or did they also deny it?

I’ve had the aforementioned monitor since the beginning of last year. Out of the box, it had marks on the screen (great experience from the get-go). Fast forward to now and the screen has bubbles underneath the anti-reflective coating all across it.

It’s still under warranty, so I reached out to Dell support. I’ve of course been given the run around. They’re blaming the issue on “physical damage” even though the monitor has been babied its entire life. I’ve seen lots of other reports of the same issue with delamination, most of which have had a satisfactory conclusion, but I’m getting almost accusatory responses from Dell support.

Does anyone have any suggestions for how to escalate? Dell seems to have gotten their in-region support contact channels locked down since the last time I had to contact them.

Standard config has been to slam about 100 command lines in an SSH session to configure an iDRAC for all the things.. but on the R770 it appears to not work so well.

I know some of the commands no longer work et al.. that is a different problem for me to RTFM and make new commands.. but pasting the big batch no longer gets it done.

Before, I'd paste in and it would happily return results for each one in succession.
Now, it throws some general error on one of them and doesn't seem to process the rest of the commands.

I'm otherwise faced with reviewing an XML export from a baseline system to whittle down over 3000 lines to what I actually want to configure.. I'd rather not have to do that.

Is there a better approach? I have dabbled with OME and ran a config item to update AD auth a bit lately.

I have an Inspiron 15 '3511 laptop that I bought in 2023 , Suddenly 6 or more keys stopped working then after some days they started working and it goes for months and now even 5 more keys stopped working line 1,0,g,h,window , scroll down and so on , I was facing trackpad issues but they fixed it as my laptop was under guarantee but now when I even call for general queries I only get one reply my laptop is not under guarantee....what to do?? Do I need to change just specific keys or whole keyboard

i did this render a while ago in a desktop, ryzen 3600 & rtx 4060, but i was considering a professional looking laptop to work 3d models and render, using autodesk suite and blender, i saw a dell precision 5480 for 800 usd, refurbished, Core i7-13800H rtx a1000, is it good or should i consider something else

When I first got it and my pc (which this is my first pc) I was setting up my pc and the display suddenly stopped working I noticed that I could see it when I shined a light on it but I ultimately gave up and just used my tv as a monitor which isn't preferred.

Anyways recently I tried to use the dell monitor once again and it worked just fine for the duration I was using it but I come back to use it again and the same problem except I'm not sure if I can see it with the light. It just flashes a display then goes black when I turn it on

I am trying to deploy a “BIOSConnect - HttpBootProfile” using Dell Command | Configure.

The “HttpBootProfile.xml” command reports that it has been imported successfully, and the certificate appears to be present in the BIOS. However:

The URL from the XML file is not added to the HTTP(s) Boot URL section.

The certificate thumbprint is not displayed in the BIOS, although I am given the option to delete the certificate.

If I run the following command, the exported XML contains both the correct URL and the certificate:

“cctk HttpBootProfile –Get”

The URL points directly to a valid “.efi” file.

If I manually enter the same URL and import the same certificate through the BIOS, HTTPS Boot works correctly. I have also confirmed that HTTP(s) Boot is enabled and set to Manual Mode before applying the XML profile.

Has anyone successfully deployed a “BIOSConnect - HttpBootProfile” using Dell Command | Configure?

it does not have an os. the battery is broken and needs constant power. i tried different os on it and all failed. today i tried loading windows 10 on it but it just shows. preparing one time boot menu and a bar underneath which is half full. what do i do.. pls i wanna rescue this laptop

Anyone had issue with the bluetooth on these laptops? I have a weird one, with bose headphones in Windows 11. They'll be connected fine for ages, then suddenly, they'll disconnect and sound will disappear. Eventually Windows 11 sorts itself out and it all comes back.

I've got it down to being the bluetooth. Confirmed this from another odd and related issue. You'll be on battery and using the bluetooth headphones. You'll then plug in power and the issues kicks in. However, if you disconnect the headphones first, then plug power in, then connect the bluetooth headphones after, its all fine.

So its pointing to being a bluetooth issue.

A few years ago I bought a **Dell Latitude 3380 (i5 7th gen, touchscreen)**. It worked normally for a few months, but then it started randomly shutting down and immediately turning back on. I suspected the charger, but tested it and it was fine.
Eventually, it shut down again and **wouldn’t boot normally anymore**. At that point it could still enter BIOS, the touchscreen worked, the fan spun, and it charged normally, but BIOS reported **“No bootable device detected.”**
I tried multiple known-working HDDs/SSDs, but none worked, so I eventually put the laptop away for about a year. A technician told me the motherboard needed to be replaced.
Now I took it out again, and the situation has gotten worse: **it no longer even displays BIOS.** The power button lights up and the laptop appears to power on, but the screen stays black. However, the **Dell LCD self-test works (D + Power)** and the screen cycles through colors normally.
The battery and RAM are installed, and the charger works. I haven’t been able to find a replacement motherboard in Lahore/Pakistan so far.
**Does anyone have any ideas what could cause this, or know where I could find a cheap replacement motherboard for a Latitude 3380 in Pakistan?** I’d really like to try fixing it rather than throwing it away.

the top of my dell towers cover won’t align back into place. none of the hooks/teeth look abnormal, i’m putting the panel on as said by google. is it okay to leave it with a small gap in the top? pls lmk its my first computer so im kinda freakin out

I have an old dell inspiron 15r 2013 non touch screen , and the screen resolution is so bad , can I replace it with one that has higher resolution

Dell Inspiron 17 5770. It powers on for about two seconds, the fan spins, the screen stays black, then it shuts down. The charging light is sometimes affected when the charger plug moves.
It does the same thing when I disconnect the charger and try to turn it on. I haven’t used it for two months.

Edit: it also kinda buzzes near keyboard, when plugged in, and now the charging light won’t even stay on.

@DellCares @FlipkartSupport Advanced Resolution Team is completely useless. Refusing accountability for a dead-on-arrival laptop . Absolute worst support ever. Escalate this to someone with actual authority for a refund now.
