Living Room Starting fresh in a new apartment, help me not mess it up

The room is a living, dining, kitchen and it's quite spacious. The challenge is that all the windows are on one side, there's a sealed fireplace that's very noticeable, and there are doors at either end.

Attached is what I'm thinking but maybe it's a bit cluttered? I wanted a low table at the end of the kitchen so I can have guests and serve them food, but also a bigger table for proper dining. I'm happy to sacrifice the latter but then the living area is way too big.

The rest of the apartment is 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. One bedroom will be my office so I don't need office stuff in the living room.

Bedroom How can I make my small loft bedroom feel cozier and more put together?

Thumbnail gallery

I want to redecorate my small bedroom so it feels cozy, intentional, and less cluttered/dated.

The loft bed has to stay, including my workspace/vanity underneath it, and I’m keeping the existing layout, AC, ceiling fan, window, and flooring.

I’m thinking warm cream, muted sage, and warm wood, possibly with some wall moulding or wood slat panels. I’m also open to replacing/removing the small vanity on the other side and adding floating shelves for books, perfumes, and decor instead.

Any ideas on how you’d decorate the room without making such a small space feel even smaller?

I am planning the design for my new apartment, but I am not sure how to lay everything out. The kitchen has to stay where it is shown in the photo, but I am considering making it bigger—I'm just not sure how to do that. I also need room for a dining table, a sofa, a TV, and other furniture. How can I make the space work well and feel comfortable? Thanks for your help!"

Bedroom Help me make my bedroom more cohesive?

Hello! I am looking for help making my bedroom feel more cohesive and intentional. I can’t tell if I should lean more towards the wood on the bed frame and bedside dressers, lean more into the dark colors, or if there’s any way to combine them? What am I missing? What is too much?

I know I need to get a new dresser, just not sure what to replace it with. Other than that, I’m just not sure what will have the most impact or where to start, and what I should keep and what to replace. Hoping to keep the bed frame as it’s new, but open to suggestions.

There are also some empty spaces I’m not sure what to do with. The walls are so long I’m not sure how to decorate them.

Any suggestions are welcome and appreciated! I do rent so I’m not looking to change the wall color. TYIA!!

Bedroom I really like my place, but I would like it to feel... quieter? More dense?

I'm not sure how to describe this exactly. I really, really like my room. I have thick, black-out curtains. The fan is great. I also have other fans that run. But it somehow feels more... I don't know... open or spacious. Compare that to my partner's room. She has a lot more stuff in there and so it has a cozier feel and is quieter as a result and I find that very comforting. I'm not sure how to replicate that feeling in my room, which is physically larger.

tl;dr: I am hoping to make my room feel... cozier or more full so it helps with noise dampening and feels like more a private, smaller space

Bedroom Advice needed: Matching or mismatched furniture?

Hi all! We just got married & are designing our first bedroom. We picked out the bed (pictured below), which is Cool Walnut and the night stands are Walnut. I fell for the night stands first (they are so beautiful) and figured that putting a Walnut bed might add too much darkness to the room, so I chose the Cool Walnut instead.

We are now deciding which dresser to get and are choosing between from the same collection of the nightstands (Option 1) or something similar that might match like the color of the bed (Option 2).

Does anyone have any advice as to which one might look better?

We want to have white linen sheets and were maybe thinking of adding an ivory or an olive rug.

Thanks so much!

Living Room This room is missing something. What is it?

We’ve put a lot of work into this room, but it still doesn’t sing to me in the way I hoped. What’s missing?

I’m thinking curtains would be helpful, but I am a little torn on color for curtains. I don’t want to add too much olive green, but it also feels like more color right be needed.

Bedroom Apartment Bedroom Designs

Hi guys, I’ve attached two possible bedroom designs that I have for my bedroom in an apartment. It’s a decent sized bedroom, but I’m living with a roommate so I’d like my desk and a small loveseat/tv in my room.

Option 1 has the bed towards the top of the room, the the tv/loveseat towards the foot of it. The doors and windows are the same spots, just didn’t put them in both designs. Option 2 would be the other one, please let me know your thoughts.

I’m trying to figure out where the best spot to put a TV would be. The easiest and nicest looking option seems to be putting it above the fireplace, but I would hate to crane my neck.

Bedroom Help with Ideas Pleaseeeee

Hey please ignore the mess, but I’ve been living in a basement apartment with roommates for last 5 years and hate it. I want to actually start loving my space, Finally upgrading a lot furniture from childhood items. Need some ideas on how to reorganize and what to buy. I like the clean girl aesthetic. Thinking about painting walls to be white. Getting rid of my two old dressers and getting one shorter longer one with more space and a new desk for pc set up. I also already bought this new queen bed frame. This is the type of dresser I like but not committed to the colour yet. Any ideas or photos of layouts would be helpful! I don’t know if I get all white furniture if it will be too light but I also don’t like the idea of having matched furniture I want it to be cohesive. I also like natural light and plants but I can’t keep them alive since it’s a basement and it gets very dusty down here quickly with too many things.

Thanks!

Bedroom Which colour for the “waves”

Thumbnail gallery

Click pics to expand!
For my sons wall I want to make blue waves going all the way across the wall. I’ve already sketched it out but I can’t pick between the 2 blue’s I have. I included a picture of some of the biggest blue staple pieces that will be in his room so base the best one off.

I feel like the darker one feels more neutral and clean especially since there already is a lot of different blue shades. But the lighter one feels more child like, ocean like but also looks a bit cheaper because of all the other blue’s already there. Or am I going crazy? Help me out please :)

Edit: forgot to say it will just be outlines, not fully colored in. Just going over the pencil outline with a thicker line!

Other Interior Room How can I make this odd primary closet more functional? It is under our U shaped stairs.

The first low wall is about 4.5 ft from the floor. I didn't crawl under there to measure the smallest cubby area. This will be my husband's closet. He has a lot of t-shirts, jerseys, and hats. He wears dri-fit activewear type shirts for work that are current kept in a bin since they don't wrinkle.

I had an idea of rolling cube storage for the short cubby space on the left side but can't image how to actually execute it. He's a grab and go type of guy, so I would like to make it easy for him in this odd space.

oh and the electrical stuff is outdated and will be removed since its not needed.

Thank you for your help!

Bedroom Help on my room

Wondering how to fit and place furnitures on this bedroom.
1. Wanted 3 distinct area:
-a queen size bed with 1 small side table and 1 tall but narrow wardrobe;
-a big working desk with plenty of storage; and
-sectional sofa with coffee table and a set up for small fridge and coffee machine.
2. The door is set on the middle of the longer side of the wall, I wanted to have something in between that door opening and my bed for privacy. Not necessarily a complete wall, a room divider or something will be enough.
3. Im okay with the room being crowded as long as I could walk in between the spaces.
4. Wanted it to be cozy with some lamps and standing shelvings with 2-3 plants.

Is the 3 distinct area and privacy plausible given the area of the room? Any thoughts on how to put the furnitures?
Any recommendations will be appreciated!!

Bedroom I need help with my small bedroom

Hello,

How and where can I fit a 160 cm x 200 cm bed in this room?

The bed measures 175 cm x 215 cm in total.

Right now, the bed is positioned with the headboard against the wall at the top, in front of the window. I sleep on the left side of the bed. If the bed is against the right wall and I sleep on the left side, I’ll be facing the radiators.

There’s also a linen curtain and a slightly thicker curtain hanging in front of the window.

I have no idea what the best arrangement would be. Somehow, none of the options seem ideal. Do you have any ideas or suggestions?

I’d appreciate any help!

Our living room requires some tlc;

-Want to get new couches (Maybe 3 seater and a reclining couch).

-We want to paint the walls a deep green.

-The TV needs to be relocated and unsure where would make sense.

Measurements: 470 cm × 512 cm
