We’ve put a lot of work into this room, but it still doesn’t sing to me in the way I hoped. What’s missing?

I’m thinking curtains would be helpful, but I am a little torn on color for curtains. I don’t want to add too much olive green, but it also feels like more color right be needed.

I’m usually a neutrals girl (beige, tan, ivory, creams) but recently moved into a new place that has a lot of greenery on the outside, as well as high ceilings and black grid windows in a loft-style vibe. I’m thinking of a forest green couch to complement the greenery outside, but I keep getting stuck on how to pull it all together with a rug that will work well with the space. I’m instinctively leaning towards a cream rug but don’t think that is the best way to go here, and I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed.

Here is a picture of how the previous owners styled it (which I want to imitate but with my own twist) and then a picture of the empty layout that I’m currently working with. Any advice on what kind of rug and coffee table would go well with a forest green modular cloud couch? Or should I choose a different couch color? I’m stressing and my eyes are fried from looking through catalogs but getting nowhere. Thank you all in advance!!

I’m trying to figure out where the best spot to put a TV would be. The easiest and nicest looking option seems to be putting it above the fireplace, but I would hate to crane my neck.

I want to redecorate my small bedroom so it feels cozy, intentional, and less cluttered/dated.

The loft bed has to stay, including my workspace/vanity underneath it, and I’m keeping the existing layout, AC, ceiling fan, window, and flooring.

I’m thinking warm cream, muted sage, and warm wood, possibly with some wall moulding or wood slat panels. I’m also open to replacing/removing the small vanity on the other side and adding floating shelves for books, perfumes, and decor instead.

Any ideas on how you’d decorate the room without making such a small space feel even smaller?

Need help with a rug for our space. Pretty please. This is all the furniture we already have. We want the room to look chic/ lux so we intend on getting a very large rug, but every color I try doesn’t seem to work with our furniture.

Hello! I am looking for help making my bedroom feel more cohesive and intentional. I can’t tell if I should lean more towards the wood on the bed frame and bedside dressers, lean more into the dark colors, or if there’s any way to combine them? What am I missing? What is too much?

I know I need to get a new dresser, just not sure what to replace it with. Other than that, I’m just not sure what will have the most impact or where to start, and what I should keep and what to replace. Hoping to keep the bed frame as it’s new, but open to suggestions.

There are also some empty spaces I’m not sure what to do with. The walls are so long I’m not sure how to decorate them.

Any suggestions are welcome and appreciated! I do rent so I’m not looking to change the wall color. TYIA!!

Imagine this space completely gutted? How can I arrange this room to be more cozy

I am looking to see how I could rearrange my living room.

So far I have a large 8x10 rug coming in and a hanging lantern light I was thinking of putting near the lights

I am also removing that black shelving and dog bed to a different area. Possibly thinking slide my desk to the left more as well?

I'm not sure how to describe this exactly. I really, really like my room. I have thick, black-out curtains. The fan is great. I also have other fans that run. But it somehow feels more... I don't know... open or spacious. Compare that to my partner's room. She has a lot more stuff in there and so it has a cozier feel and is quieter as a result and I find that very comforting. I'm not sure how to replicate that feeling in my room, which is physically larger.

tl;dr: I am hoping to make my room feel... cozier or more full so it helps with noise dampening and feels like more a private, smaller space

We close on a new home Monday (ahhhh), and while I have plenty of bigger things to stress about (like selling our current home…), one topic that my mind won’t let rest is where to put the trash can in this kitchen. So, I’d love some suggestions on that, as well as how best to arrange this open space with our dining room table (it’s rectangle and bar height- I feel like that needs to change), couch and love seat, tv, etc! In fact, why don’t YOU just tell ME how to fill my living room!!

I feel like my room doesn't really have a whole lot of personality to it It feels very basic

The room is a living, dining, kitchen and it's quite spacious. The challenge is that all the windows are on one side, there's a sealed fireplace that's very noticeable, and there are doors at either end.

Attached is what I'm thinking but maybe it's a bit cluttered? I wanted a low table at the end of the kitchen so I can have guests and serve them food, but also a bigger table for proper dining. I'm happy to sacrifice the latter but then the living area is way too big.

The rest of the apartment is 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. One bedroom will be my office so I don't need office stuff in the living room.

I have this small area in my bedroom and I'd love to make it look and feel a bit better

The kitchen has to stay where it is shown in the photo, but I am considering making it bigger—I'm just not sure how to do that. I also need room for a dining table, a sofa, a TV, and other furniture. Hi guys, I’ve attached two possible bedroom designs that I have for my bedroom in an apartment. It’s a decent sized bedroom, but I’m living with a roommate so I’d like my desk and a small loveseat/tv in my room.

Option 1 has the bed towards the top of the room, the the tv/loveseat towards the foot of it. The doors and windows are the same spots, just didn’t put them in both designs. Option 2 would be the other one, please let me know your thoughts.

I moved into this apartment a few months ago, and while I love the rest of it I can’t figure out what to do with the bathroom. It’s only about 5x7 ft including the shower space and all the tile is painted over with this horrible peeling paint. There’s no ventilation, but I live alone so I just leave the door open. It can still get pretty humid though. I rent so I can’t make any major changes, but I’ll patch holes/paint when I leave.

My main focus at the moment is storage. I have the medicine cabinet but otherwise there’s not room for much else. I had a standing over the toilet cabinet, but it was wobbly, looked cheap, felt looming in the small space, and still didn’t organize my things very well. Otherwise I’ve considered:
- A renter friendly cabinet that could slide under the sink. These tend to scream wayfair to me (nothing wrong with that, it just isn’t really my style/doesn’t fit the rest of my apartment) plus finding the right size has been hard
- A tall cabinet in the small space between the wall and toilet. This was my favorite idea but I’m worried now that will feel in the way just like the over the toilet cabinet, and again it’s an awkward tight space that doesn’t fit most furniture
- A wall cabinet above the toilet and/or above the towel rack. This would have to be narrow in depth and not too high I need to climb over the toilet to reach it, but I also want it higher than the storage cabinet sat (the bottom of the cabinet sitting a few inches above the tiles would probably be fine). This is my new favorite idea but I’m still on the fence

My style is eclectic, but mostly because I don’t have a lot of expendable income and I thrift most things. I do tend to like interesting textiles, real wood furniture, and vintage pieces. None of these would do super well in a humid bathroom though. I don’t often like plastic or high gloss wood pieces and the metal furniture I can find is typically open storage which looks messy to me. I’ve seen great answers on this subreddit before so I figured someone might have a creative solution. At some point I’d also like to make it a little less ugly so general design ideas are also welcome.

Moving into a new room. Is this setup for a bed, desk and storage most efficient?

I am still missing a lot of furniture and I plan to buy them over time but I feel like I need some kind of plan beforehand. Unfortunately, the floors are grey but I want to have a more warm and cozy feeling in my living room and I am a huge nerd, so I like colour in my living spaces. But at the same time, I want it to feel more grown-up and coherent (or maybe I feel that way because my mother insulted my living space as a huge children's bedroom). The blinds on the window are orange and were pre-installed. I don't particularly like this colour but I don't know if I'm allowed to switch them yet. The picture with the seating area is the other side of my living room. Those blankets in the corner are for my dog. He loves those tiny corners but didn't want to get into the picture. I attached the pet-tax at the end.

How and where do I start with planning this? Any tips on how to incorporate the grey floor? And how do I stay myself but still have a grown-up living room?

Hi all! We just got married & are designing our first bedroom. We picked out the bed (pictured below), which is Cool Walnut and the night stands are Walnut. I fell for the night stands first (they are so beautiful) and figured that putting a Walnut bed might add too much darkness to the room, so I chose the Cool Walnut instead.

We are now deciding which dresser to get and are choosing between from the same collection of the nightstands (Option 1) or something similar that might match like the color of the bed (Option 2).

Does anyone have any advice as to which one might look better?

We want to have white linen sheets and were maybe thinking of adding an ivory or an olive rug.

Hi! Please help! we just moved and I am struggling with how to set up our living room. The tank has to stay where it is- it’s the most level spot in the home. I am just at a loss for how to make the space flow better!!

Our living room requires some tlc;

-Want to get new couches (Maybe 3 seater and a reclining couch).

-We want to paint the walls a deep green.

-The TV needs to be relocated and unsure where would make sense.
