Hello everyone. I’m currently using an FN 509C Tactical as my EDC, and I’ve recently taken a liking to enclosed-emitter optics, particularly the Vector Optics SCRD-75, which uses the ACRO footprint.

I know there is an ACRO-compatible plate available for the FN 509, but unfortunately, I’m based in the Philippines and haven’t been able to find one locally. Importing one isn’t really an option for me due to ITAR/export restrictions.

As a workaround, I’m currently using the factory FN 509 RMR plate + Strike Industries RMR-to-ACRO adapter + SCRD-75, essentially stacking the two interfaces.

Has anyone tried a setup like this? How well does it hold up under recoil? I’m particularly concerned about the additional mounting interface introducing movement or putting excessive stress on the slide or optic.

One other thing I noticed is that the setup does not cowitness with the factory iron sights. I’m aware that the added height from the two mounting interfaces is likely the reason, but I’d also appreciate any input on whether this is a concern.

I haven’t taken it to the range yet because I’d rather get some input from people with experience with this type of setup before testing it.

Hello r/FN509, I'm excited to finally own an FN509CT. Found a used one with an okay broken optic, so I snatched it up (lifetime warranty on the optic - waiting for its return). Looking to either send the FN in for service/upgrades or grab some aftermarket ones. Primarily a range toy, canned. Thoughts?

I wasn’t specifically looking for this setup, but after handling the pistol with the suppressor attached, I honestly really liked the way it felt.

The shop has it marked as a manager’s special, but I’m still not sure whether it’s actually a good deal or if I’m just getting caught up in the “this looks cool” factor.

For those familiar with the FN 509 platform and/or the Dead Air Mojave:
Is this bundle worth the money?

Would you buy the whole setup, negotiate for a better price, or skip the bundle and put the money toward something else?

I’m especially interested in hearing both the pros and cons. If you’ve owned a 509C/509 Compact Tactical or run a Mojave 9, I’d love to hear your real-world experience.

My 509t is frustrating the heck out of me. I shoot terrible with it and group like garbage. I decided to upgrade the trigger using the Apex Tactical action upgrade kit. Everything was going well until the reassembly which I couldn’t find the parts 21 and 20. I watched the video several times and it seemed outdated. Is the spring and bearing only on the models with a thumb safety? I dragged a magnet around my work area to double check and didn’t find the parts. I reassembled the gun without them and it seems to function like normal. I’m not even sure what the purpose of the spring and bearing are.

My second problem is I can’t get a co-witness with my RMR red dot. I used the forward controls design plate and also dry fitted the C&H with the same result. The dot is lower than my irons with my RMR maxed out in the up position. Anyone else have a solution?

I also didn’t have good luck with the apex pin punch. It bent easily, local hardware punch did the trick.

Trying to find a good mag holder to go on a belt that will take 2 of the 25 round mags. Seems like regular stuff is too short while SMG is too long- anyone have any luck there?

Will the clamp fit securely on the compact rail?

One of LGS's distributors had a sale on the 10rd models, so i was able to get this new for under 500. Already tried putting one of my extra surefire x300's on it, but it put the frame in such a bind that the trigger struggled to reset. So guess I will have to try a streamlight TLR1 on it.

Has anyone put a DPM drop in spring system? I'm thinking of grabbing it. Recoil isn't bad but anything that can help with control has me interested.

I found a crazy steal on a new 509 with the 4.5 inch barrel for $350 and pulled the trigger.

I have not been able to find any posts here featuring this model and only 1 or 2 YouTube videos.

From what I can tell it was released somewhat recently. The long slide model also has a single LE contract with some random sheriff dept. Same 509 DNA with a million rounds of testing.

Why does no one seem to like the full size model? The p320 long barrels seem to do well although I understand preferring a threaded barrel + comp compact slide.

Been eyeing these because there have been FN sales popping up all week. Found a FDE 509 with four 24 round magazines included as a package deal for $783 on PSA.

Already snagged a trijicon optic from Facebook marketplace too.

It looks like everyone else buys lights for these things, what kind of flashlight mounts under the barrel and comes in FDE that you would suggest?

Eventually I want a suppressor for it, probably then FN Rush. Stoked!

Traded for this used 509 at my LGS today. Came with 3 17rd mags, and some of the factory mounting plates, not all though. Need to get a FCD acro plate ordered for the PB3, and need to decide on what light to put on it. Also plan on getting an ez-lok set up for the hux 9kti.

I’ve scoured the internet and put my name on every site to be contacted when back in stock but I had no idea they were this hard to find right now. Anyone having any luck finding them?

I recently bought a Romeo 1 Pro for my 509c MRD and can’t seem to get the mounting perfectly flush. FN’s manual indicates the delta point pro footprint uses the #1 plate but I can only use the #4 plate with a barely noticeable incline. Any recommendations for a fix or aftermarket plate would be appreciated.

I bought this guy a few months ago on PSA and I CANNOT find a holster, it has the quick connect comp like the cc edge but it’s a “509 compact”. I’m looking for a holster that is optic cut and accepts a light!! Also does anyone know if they make a front sight for these? The one that came on it is all black!! Please help

At just 5yds, if I'm shooting at an 10 inch target, i have to put my front sight on the bottom edge of the target to hit center. Is this a problem for anyone else? I don't use an optic, just irons. It doesn't go left or right, just way above the sights.
