this is sad, of course, just as everything he's been allowed to do falls somewhere on the ever-expanding scale of sadness

but the bitter, dark, canadian part of me is glad he's leaving physical marks on the landscape as a record of his brutality. he won't be forgotten in 2029 (he might even still be in office then)

he's making sure his mark is permanent. i just hope americans remember it the next time they're voting for the leader of their country

his presidency wasn't some accidental, one-off fluke. it happened twice

Americans voted for him. Twice. Don't put faith in them.

Only about a third of this country voted for him. The majority either did not vote or voted against him. I hate that that third has elected such a fraud to represent us.

Lmao, I think you’re the one lacking clarity. Depending on your state, sometimes your vote for president just doesn’t matter. I live in the most liberal state in the country. While I did vote, the decision of where our electoral votes go was pretty much decided before the ballots are even printed. The electoral college actively disincentivizes many individuals from voting.

Yes the vote is added to the tally, but it doesn’t actually matter.

As someone who’s lived in both California and Florida, people feel very discouraged to vote in a state where the influence of their vote is essentially already determined for them bc of electoral college. You’re 100% right.
