Airpeace almost made me miss my flight to the Istanbul today. My luggage was not checked in for the Istanbul flight as I boarding was about to close. All my clothing and food items I had procured from nigeria I left them at the airport.

My flight to Lagos of initially 11:40 was later moved to 12:50 next thing you know it was moved to 17:50. And finally we departed by 19:45.

What is this initially they said it was a weather issue, next they said it was an airplane problem, next they said that the plane that should take us was delayed and finally the weather is bad so they can't take off.

All i can say is i have never experienced this level of incompetence in my life before zero accountability.

And now what do I do. How do I pay more than the goods worth to bring my luggage to Istanbul sigh.

Hi all, I’m trying to choose between 16D and 17C (exit row) on a Austrian Boeing 777-200 for a night flight from Bangkok.
16D is further with 4, while 17C has the obvious advantage of extra legroom, but it’s next to two others who need to pass.
For a night time flight, which one would you choose?

Context:

• Norwegian airlines
• Direct flight from Barcelona (D82901, Sunday 21st of June)

• Cancelled 1hr before flight (no reasoning in the message)

• Around 1-2hr later it was rescheduled, New plan: Overnight in Barcelona, departure on the following day to CPH, CPH to Oslo, Sleep in Oslo, Oslo-Helsinki on the third day (I would arrive 2 days later than initially booked)

• Airline customer service closed and unreachable at the time of cancellation due congested call lines

• Multiple other Barcelona-Helsinki flights occurred on the same day (21st of June)

• I sent them 3 claims asking for refund/compensation, all rejected.

• In one of the mails they vaguely said it was related to Air Traffic control (no other context) and that it was an "extraordinary circumstance that couldn't have been prevented". I demanded more information on the context, in their third reply they finally caved in and explicitly said they would not provide any additional information on the context, didn't mention Air traffic control either.

• What are my rights or how should I pragmatically proceed? I think the rerouting was ridiculous, as well as not elaborating on the cancellation at all...

(I did end up booking another flight on the same day to Helsinki via KLM, I arrived on Sunday as planned)

Last April (took me a long while to circle back around to this, I know), I had a trip booked from Geneva to Bucharest (all on Swiss, same booking), with the following route and times:

25 Apr 26

LX2807 Geneva GVA 10:00 -> Zurich ZRH 11:00

LX1888 Zurich ZRH 12:00 -> Bucharest OTP 15:20

After an initial delay that already would've made me miss my connection, it was announced that the flight to Zurich was cancelled altogether due to technical issues. They put me on another route later that day:

LX2817 Geneva GVA 18:45 -> Zurich ZRH 19:40

LX1886 Zurich ZRH 21:45 -> Bucharest OTP 01:05

Pretty irritating to arrive with a delay of around ten hours, but I figured I could just suck it up and put in a compensation claim under EC261, figuring it'd be a formality since the cancellation wasn't due to any kind of force majeure event but some routine technical issue that came up during maintenance. I did so and it took a few days to get an answer (see image), claiming an "electrical power issue" that wasn't eligible for compensation. Now, this smacks of bullshit, given the reputation I've since learned Swiss has for wasting people's time when they file complaints, so I wanted to ask the following questions:

1. Just to be sure, does this not fall under exceptional cases where passengers don't have to be compensated? It seems like a pretty routine maintenance issue based on the wording.

2. Is filing a complaint to Swiss authorities worth it? I've heard they're not very reactive but it could be worth a shot depending on whether they actually get around to replying. I could also just write Swiss again but doubt I'll get anywhere given they seem fairly content to ignore EU regulations.

3. Are flight compensation companies any use in this? Do they see a higher success rate than the average passenger going through the whole process on their own? I'm willing to part with a third of the compensation if it allows me to actually get that money anytime soon.

Our flight with SAS airline got canceled 9 days prior to our departure time. We were offered a rebooking where we had to fly 3hr 50mins before our previously scheduled departure time, though we reached the destination 3hrs early.

We raised a EU 261 claim to which they responded “ We have reviewed your request and you are eligible for a reimbursement of: 300 EUR.

Explanation of our decision: Please be informed that, rebooking was provided more than one hour prior to the original scheduled departure time.

In accordance with EU Regulation 261/2004, this qualifies you for 50% of the standard compensation amount.

Accordingly, you are entitled to a compensation of EUR 300, which is 50% of the standard EUR 600 compensation.”

This is my first time raising EU261 claim, I searched through the sub and internet, but couldn’t get any information around what they are quoting such as rebooking provided 1hr prior and etc.

Do I accept this? Is there a way to dispute this?

I am going from Ethiopian airlines for the first time from Delhi to Lagos don’t know the rules about baggage it says it 2 pieces of 46 kgs allowed and 7 kg hand baggage tho somewhere it shows 1 piece of 23 kg also do they measure your suitcases ?

Hi guys, I've been searching for a flight from Vancouver (YVR) to Curitiba (CWB), and Google flights is showing me an option that doesn't show on Air Canada official website. BUT, when I click to book the flight, it redirects me to Air Canada, with my login and Aeroplans points exactly as they're supposed to be. It then allows me to select my seats and all of that. As I said, it's an itinerary that doesn't show as a option when I search only on Air Canada.

It's a much cheaper option (797 CAD) against the lowest price that the company shows (1190 CAD).

Did this happened to anybody? Can I trust it? Since I'll book it on the official website.

checking in to my lufthansa flight tomorrow but they are looking for visa/residence permit documents even if my passport lets me in with visa free entry. called the hotline and said they cannot check us in over their end as the booking is locked for airport check in only. anyone has experience with this?

In other words, would you rather fly a LCC provided that you get to stay in a lounge prior to boarding (maybe using Priority Pass), or a full-service airline without lounge access?

Je viens vous raconter ma mésaventure, parce que franchement je ne sais plus quoi faire.

J’avais réservé sur Booking.com un aller-retour France → Cameroun (avec escale à Casablanca) pour le 24 mai 2026, environ 696 €.

Et là, à moins de 24h du départ : Air Maroc m’annonce que le vol Casablanca → Cameroun est annulé (ils avaient suspendu la destination à ce moment-là). Aucune solution de rechange. Rien. Mon vol retour aussi a sauté au passage.

Je devais absolument être au Cameroun, donc j’ai racheté un billet en urgence : +1 000 € de plus.

Au final ça me fait 1 600 € de frais, et depuis c’est le jeu du ping-pong :

- Air Maroc : “Voyez avec Booking.com”
- Booking.com : “Billet non remboursable”

Sauf que je n’ai rien annulé moi. C’est bien la compagnie qui a annulé le vol, pas moi.

I will be flying to china from germany for the first time in 2 weeks! My longest flight so far has only been to turkey around 3 hours. I booked with Air China and have some questions, if anybody can help me out :)

1. How are the economy seats? During my Turkey flights they were always terribly cramped and I can’t imagine sitting like that for 12 hours :,)

2. Do I have to put my electronic tooth brush, laptop and epilator in my carry on/hand luggage? I know that my powerbank has to have the ccc certificate and be in my carry on, but I am not sure about the others?

4. What kind of food gets served on the fligh? Is there a restriction on foods you can bring on the plane like there is with luqids?

Hi, I got a scholarship paying for my PhD in the Uk. I’ve never left the country before. Our flight takes off at 10 pm from DC, then lands in London at 10am.

I don’t sleep well on planes in my limited flying experience, but I’ve got once in a lifetime opportunities to meet people and see places I’d never see without the scholarship I’m on. I don’t wanna be super jet lagged for that.

Any advice on avoiding jet lag on a 10pm to 10am flight to the Uk?

I’m trying to understand the transfer process at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1.

I have two separate tickets with different airlines, but both flights are operating from Terminal 1. I will be travelling with carry-on/hand luggage only, so I won’t need to collect or re-check any checked baggage.

My country is on the list of countries that require a visa for terminal changes and/or a transit pass. I’m unsure whether this requirement would also apply when both flights are from the same terminal (Terminal 1) but are on separate tickets and different airlines.

The main issue is that I need to get my boarding pass for the second flight.My initial flight is with Himalya Airlines from Kathmandu to Kul terminal 1. My onward flight is from Malaysia KUL terminal 1 to Perth with Batik Air. Does Batik Air have a check-in/transfer counter inside the airside area of Terminal 1, or would I need to clear immigration and enter Malaysia to check in?

In this situation, is it possible to stay airside and go directly to a transfer/check-in desk to get my boarding pass, or do I have to go through Malaysian immigration and formally enter Malaysia, even though:

Both flights are from Terminal 1

I have no checked baggage

I’m travelling on separate tickets

I only need to obtain my boarding pass for the second flight

Has anyone recently done a similar self-transfer at KLIA Terminal 1 on separate airlines?

I’ve flown Lufthansa before and never had a bad experience , haven’t flown British since 2011 and never flown swiss. First time posting on this forum but looking for advice. My wife and I were on vacation in Tanzania for a few weeks but live in NE United States. We were supposed to be leaving Zanzibar this evening and had a connecting flight in Nairobi Kenya to JFK vie Kenyan Airways. We woke up to a message saying our first flight will be getting delayed to exactly 5 minutes before our second leg back home(that flight ended up getting cancelled entirely). Obviously this wouldn’t work so we called the airlines in the morning and they rebooked us to a flight in the morning which we had to abruptly rush out of our hotel and run to the airport to catch, we made it on time and the check in counter told us that Nairobi is basically a mess with these strikes and all flights are getting cancelled including our just recently rebooked morning flight there. I call the airlines again only for them to tell me that the next flight back to the states is in two days as the tomorrow one is fully booked. By the looks of it the one we missed today also looks canceled as well as theres no update on that status.

My wife and I both have jobs and shes a teacher and had to be back before the schoolyear, we’d both be in real trouble if we missed another few days so we had no option available to us from the airline except to book new flights ourselves. The only flights we found were through Etihad for $2500 per person to Washington DC which was about 3 hours away. We had to book it to make it back home since KQ gave us zero alternatives, not even trying to book us on a partner airlines.

Of course I know that we have to fight for our return flight funds to be returned to us from Kenyan, but do I have any claim of reimbursement for the $5k I spent for the Etihad flights? They’re both economy seats and all other flights were the same/more expensive. ChatGPT says I have a case lol but I would really appreciate feedback from you folks!

I booked a trip through Expedia. I have a flight and hotel reservations. Just wondering when I will get my airline tickets. I’m getting nervous my trip is in 2 weeks.

My wife and I are U.S. citizens and booked AM 495 from Seattle (SEA) to Mexico City (MEX) connecting with AM 338 from MEX to Puerto Vallarta (PVR) with travel on May 6, 2026. I used Expedia to book these tickets which AM confirmed in writing were: "REFUNDABLE CHNGS PERMITTED." Less than 24 hours before departure, AM canceled our flight and substituted an itinerary that would have required us to find and pay for a hotel in Mexico City overnight. We rejected the change and tried to cancel.

What followed was a nightmarish runaround. I called AM to cancel and request a refund, but their agent said only Expedia could do that. So, I called Expedia who said AM had locked the ticket and Expedia couldn't access it. I called AM back and its call center agent confirmed the reservation was restricted to gate personnel only and that she couldn't cancel it either. AM then canceled our original booking and created a new reservation for the following day. We were not notified of any of these changes and never boarded any AM flights. We made new reservations and flew on American Airlines.

We paid $447 for two refundable tickets and $193.60 for prepaid bags and seat upgrades. When we filed formal regulatory complaints with U.S. and Mexican authorities, AM responded with written statements that directly contradicted verbal statements by AM’s agents and written emails from  Expedia.

So, AM did not make any refund. We disputed every charge with American Express, which investigated and credited our account in full because AM did not provide the services that we paid for. If you fly AM, pay with a credit card that has strong dispute protections since you may need them to recover your money even when your tickets are 100% refundable and AM cancels your flights!
